I will leave this reminder as a sticky because tthis is often a thread that new members (or new Hermès lovers) post on - hopefully temporarily.

to ask to return the item ( Certainly have done this if an item is not what I want) and then ask the store to get it for you in a separate transaction

have bought items online, returned them when I arrive to pick them up, and immediately re-purchased them to receive the VAT refund.
@nymeria specifically included your example as a way to get the VAT refund on an item that originated from an on line purchase. However, i have read on this thread of another clients experience where one H boutique in Paris refused to process the return and repurchase for the VAT purpose. So, solely based on what I have read on this thread, I would not assume that this is universally accepted practice in all Paris branches. @Scgian

ETA: see my post 36,875 where I quoted two others who had issues with returning an on line purchase/store pick up for VAT purposes in Paris and elsewhere in France, here: https://forum.purseblog.com/threads/paris-trip-for-hermes.457159/page-2459 or see attachment of my screen shot below

This thread has been so informative, and I'm grateful everyone has contributed their stories. From what I gather, partners/husbands have been wonderful allies in helping secure those non-lottery appointments. For those who travel solo, any tips on how to be as equally persuasive?
Back yourself. :flowers: As a solo client, you’re still a client. You’re not any less deserving of a walk-in (which is no guarantee for anyone). The basic rules of being kind, polite, friendly, not entitled, interested in the brand, showing some purchase history in Paris (which you could create the day or week before) are still the most important things IMO. Good luck!

I remember a friend never receiving the email as well but it was not spam. You can also go on the website https://rendezvousparis.hermes.com/client
to check your ‘appointment follow up’. All you need to do is type in your schedule code. Hope that helps!
Oh very odd, DH said he didn’t get a schedule code in that text message that he received to click to confirm the appointment before desired day which is for Monday and for which Hermes store.

Anyone else here experienced this? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

If you’re in Paris, I would suggest perhaps just going to the leather desk and ask them to confirm.. their new system seems like it’s been very glitchy

I'm always solo and have gotten QBs as a walk-in and with an appointment (3x at FSH, 2x at GV). It's really all luck of the draw.

Can anyone here able to shed some light on successful experience with the online lottery appointment?

It seems like things work differently now with the lottery appointment as compared to earlier this year.

Did u get a text message to confirm first? Then email?

With the text message, do u know what number does it come from?

What happens on the day of appointment? Do u get a text message in the morning with scheduled time and etc?
