I will leave this reminder as a sticky because tthis is often a thread that new members (or new Hermès lovers) post on - hopefully temporarily.

In my experience when they disappear for 20 or 30 minutes in Paris it can mean any of a few things:

-They are trying to find the bag you want, or something close, which has been reserved for someone else, or maybe several someones, causing confusion in the back rooms.

-They are serving multiple customers at once.

-They have something they think you will like and are trying to get clearance to offer it to you.

- They don’t have what you want so they are putting together a selection of non quota bags, charms, etc., they hope you’ll buy.

-They are having a smoke break outside and snickering about their customers.

i try to assume the best ;)

Also, take into consideration that this particular store probably has a LOT of random new-to-them customers (usually) walking in asking for either hard-to-get or very on-trend (and hard to keep in stock) items, which I'm sure can be exhausting. When she said "common," it's likely you weren't the only person to give her that exact request that week, or even day. Having worked in customer service for years (thank goodness no longer), I can tell you that pretty-much 80% of requests sales or customer service folks see are for the same thing...wash, rinse, repeat. That's not to say those requests are BAD...I mean things go on-trend for good reason! That said, I bet your experience would've been a lot different if you walked in looking for something a bit more unique...even if they still didn't have it.

I think this would make sense for all the other H stores in the world, but not this one. This wasn't a "walk-in" the store, this was a leather appointment. With their past experience, I think they totally expect us to ask for K or B with "classic" colors and leathers. I even told her I wasn't interested in Bs at all (as I already have four) and she seemed very surprised.
A friend of mine who lives in Paris has succeeded to get a B25 (without any purchase history, except a pillow) at this store. She had the appointment, but she really clicked with the SA who served her. So I don't think it's "compulsory" to have a unique wishlist to get offered a quota bag at FSH, I think it's a matter of chance and how the SA evaluates you.

I got offered an orange birkin 30 around four years ago in FSH. It was my first Hermes bag so I had no idea what to ask for. We actually just lined up because we were walking past the flag ship and my husband noticed that everyone else was in line. He was like "Well, if there are that many people in line, there is something worth waiting for."

When we got to the front I had no idea what to ask for. All I knew was that Hermes was known for making birkins and after a brief browse through TPF while I was standing in line, I decided I wanted one in 30 or below. I think I started to randomly list colors and I mentioned orange because I remembered Samantha had an orange birkin in Sex and the City. The SA perked up when she heard orange and lo and behold, half an hour later she showed up with an orange birkin.

That was hilarious but it was a great memory because I totally didn't expect to get a birkin that day. It's actually the bag I'm carrying in my profile picture. We went to the Opera Garnier after being offered the bag and that was my favorite bag memory even after many more Hermes bags over the years.

On that day, I was just happy to walk out of there with a bag. Anyway, just thought I would share this story because I was too young and naive at the time to ask for neutral colors. Then again, I guess, back then I just wanted a fun bag, not something I would carry every day. Now that I'm almost 40, I am into neutral bags. Strangely, after collecting a couple of neutrals this year, I'm dreaming of a colorful bamboo or a rose confetti. I guess it happens in cycles.

HELLO EVERYONE, I WANT TO SHARE MY UNBELIEVABLE EXPERIENCE AT FSH LAST WEEK. BOTH MY HUSBAND AND I MADE 2 APPOINTMENTS EACH, BUT WERE REJECTED. LAST MONDAY WE WERE WALKING ON RUE. FSH AND DECIDED TO STOP BY HERMES TO PURCHASE A TIE FOR OUR SON. WHILE THERE, MY HUSBAND INSISTED I ASK LEATHER HOSTESS FOR POSSIBLE APPOINTMENT. I DID SO, RELUCTANTLY. I TOLD HER THAT WE BOTH TRIED BUT WERE REJECTED. TO MY SURPRISE SHE TOLD ME TO WAIT FEW MINUTES FOR A SALESPERSON. I WAS SO NERVOUS. I WAS AFRAID THAT I'D BE OFFERED A BAG THAT WAS NOT WHAT I REALLY WANTED. LONG STORY SHORT, I GOT EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED: KELLY SELLIER 28 IN NOIR WITH GHW. I WANTED TO PINCH MYSELF. WOW!! MIRACLES DO HAPPEN.
Same thing happened to me! I never got an appointment but went in to browse. I went to the leather section and asked if it was possible to get a cancellation. I told them I had applied for an appointment but was not lucky. She asked if I had my passport, which I did, she scanned it, then took me upstairs and an SA toll me to a private room. My heart was beating when she went away and came back wit a Kelly 28!!!

Wow, what an amazing story ! How long ago was it ? And did you have a large purchase history at FSH (or other Parisian stores) ?

are they closed? my sa said they still work but just less shifts and less hours.
The appointment application website says it’s closed. I would assume they have put together a sale & delivery system as other brands such as Chanel, where you could order item through your regular SA and have the item sent to you... however this is just my guess since I don’t have a regular SA at H

Dear all,

Not sure if it’s been asked before. If an SA leaves his or her job at Hermes in one of the Paris stores, will his or her mails be forwarded to or answered by someone within the company or will it just go unanswered?

Thanks in advance!
