Hi ladies, I’ve enjoyed reading everyone’s posts and wanted to share my recent visit to the FSH store in case it helps anyone. My first visit to FSH was about 3 years ago where I got a K32 in etoupe. Back then we still had to line up and it was on my fourth try that I was finally able to get a bag on my wishlist. Since then, I hadn’t been back to Paris until last month, when I visited Paris for three days after my business trip to London, arriving on a Saturday and leaving on Monday. Since I had not kept up with things, I didn’t know about the appointment system until late Friday night and was not able to request an appointment for Saturday. When I was able to make a request on Saturday morning, I learned Monday was a bank holiday and so the store would be closed.

With no ability to make an appointment, I went to the store on Saturday as I wanted to pick up a belt kit. While I was there I decided to check if the SA that had offered me the K32 three years earlier was still working at FSH. After getting some conflicting information, I learned the SA was still there but no longer in the leather department. I asked for the SA anyways and asked if he could help with an appointment or assistance with a bag. I proceeded to share my wishlist which included a K28, C (24 size) or KP. Given it was a Saturday and there had been several holidays in May, I was told the store was especially busy and there were no appointments available for that day and inventory was low. He said he checked the inventory and they had nothing on my wishlist. He did say there was a KC or B25 available but since neither of these items are on my wishlist, I politely passed. I also knew I would be returning to London this month for work and could return to Paris and try my luck then. The SA told me to use the appointment system when I returned. I thanked him for his time and proceeded to the belt area and picked up a great buckle and color combo as a gift for my BF.

I returned to London for business in June and was in Paris only June 13-14. I tried the appointment system twice trying to get an appointment on June 13 or 14 with no success. I was flying out the night of June 14 and felt quite discouraged and frustrated over getting the rejection texts and emails. I contemplated giving up and avoiding visiting Hermes altogether because I didn’t want to be reminded of the rejection, but I talked to my BF on the phone who encouraged me to just go into the store and give it a try. He said I had nothing to lose and if I couldn’t get an appointment, at least I tried and could just forget about it at that point.

Still not sure if I should go in or how I should even approach it, I decided last minute on June 14 to go to the store and look around. As soon as I entered I could hear my BF encouraging me in my mind and I decided to ask for the same SA that had helped me three years prior and last month. If he wasn’t there, oh well, I’d just browse around and then leave. Turns out he was working and I explained to him how I tried unsuccessfully to get an appointment and was leaving that night, and if there was anything he could do to help. Let me just say that this SA is very nice and genuine and I’m not the kind of person who likes to “plead” for others to help but his kindness made me feel comfortable doing so. In response he was able to get me an appointment with an SA in the leather department and luckily I was offered a K28 in RP. I loved the color and silver hardware and accepted it happily. Unlike three years ago, I did feel this time the SA who offered me the K28 tried to sell me other items I had not asked for or mentioned but I politely declined them. She was nice about it but I could see how some people may feel pressured to buy these other items.

If I could give a few words of advice, they would be: (1) don’t let the appointment system or not getting a bag ruin your visit to Paris, (2) think positively and if you’re rejected through the appointment system, go in the store and ask an SA that has helped you previously to see if they can get you an appointment, and (3) only buy what you want or love. For those of you who don’t know any other SAs, I’ve read on the purse forum that sometimes the hostesses can help if you ask nicely. It doesn’t hurt to try and the worse would be you’re in the same position as before...View attachment 4102116

Good luck to everyone and here’s my K28 in RP. [emoji5]

K28 in RP in phw is just gorgeous! Congratulations @quad8s [emoji8] [emoji8]

@quad8s congratulations! Your K is divine! Q for you: did you wear the bag you got before in fsh when you went in? I got my dream B from a lovely SA in 2017, and will be back in Paris in August for 2 dags. I know my appointment chances are slim to none but I plan to walk It here with my B and try anyways. I've heard from this thread that it helps bc it shows you're not a reselly.

I too am curious on people's perspective on this since I am heading to Paris soon and wondering if I should wear the bag I bought last year at FSH. I am kicking myself I did not get card of SA that helped me. Will for sure ask for a card this time.

Having the card doesnt always help so dont feel bad. I think I've had three cards from different SAs and its never worked for me to see the same SA. I would still try on your next visit though. With H you never know...
Sometimes I have taken a bag purchased on previous trip, but most often not. I dont check luggage so I need the free space! I am often wearing H shoes, H ring and H bracelet though. I think all of this can work in different ways and it still comes down to available inventory when you are looking and the SA's ability to sell it to you.

Hi ladies, no I was not carrying my Kelly or any H bag. From both times I was offered a bag at FSH, I don’t think the way I dressed or whether I had an H bag mattered. But I was pretty specific as to which bag, size, leather, and colors I wanted because I have other H bags that I didn’t want to duplicate. The SA actually commented that my choices were pretty specific, and I replied yes, because I already have other bags. Could that have helped? Not sure...At the end, I didn’t ask the SA for a card, nor did she offer one. She just said when I come back, use the appointment system.

@lynne_ross, I don’t think you need to have the SA’s card, if you remember their name and feel comfortable asking them for help, go for it. Good luck!

Honestly I think the biggest factor is your demeanor and approach. The SAs know the bags sell themselves and with limited supply they and the manager have the freedom to sell to whomever they please. Being nice + real goes a long way.
I think that the biggest factor is the SA. It all depends on whether they click when you meet them. Most members here shared their experience and disappointment of not getting anything and I don't think that it was due to them being demanding. For many first timers, the experience is real and nervous so most people are usually polite but if it is not your lucky day or the SA had a rude encounter with another client before they see you, then they may not be in a mood to offer anything.

Hi, I don't think there is any guarantee. I managed to get a 10.30am appointment on my third try but came away with nothing. I think a lot still depends on the SA you get. Mine was completely disinterested and she made it clear in her expression even though DH spoke to her in fluent French.
Goes to say that getting a B or K is really a score of your luck. There is no one formula, whether it is the bag or the outfit that you've on, your manners or appointment time. I hope that you can get one next time.

Agree.
When I scored my first B recently, I was also toying with the idea to wear an H bag or at least an accessory. In the end, I went into the boutique in just my black Uniqlo jeans, white Zara blouse and beige leather Coach espadrilles.

I think unfair or not, once someone is flagged as a reseller, the SA would go to the dungeon, count to 10 and return without an Orange box. I think this is the main obstacle and the reason for getting zero offers. The other factors are just random.

But the sad thing is, in reality a lot of resellers that are based in Paris are actually considered as VIPs :( that’s why they have access to stock
