Hi everyone! I just got back from Paris today and would like to share my H shopping story... apologies in advance as it will be long! In total, my friend and I tried to get an appointment at FSH 4x each! But all failures... =(

1st attempt Fri 8 June: Friend and I arrived in Paris. We both tried to get an appointment for FSH before our flight but failed, so we decided to head to the Sèvres store after dropping our luggage. Queued for store opening & went straight to leather dept. Was served by a nice young SA, didn’t manage to get a BKC. She said there had been no deliveries since Thurs as they were closed for stocktake; I believed her since everyone who was in the same queue as me didn’t get any bags; most people left within a few mins after their SA returned with a negative response. She got me a mini Evie in vert vertigo & I also bought some bag charms & twillies.

2nd attempt Mon 9 June: both of us got rejected for FSH appointments. We went to the George V store to try to find the SA who served my friend in 2015. Back then, he had scored his HAC from this SA but we lost her email so we couldn’t contact her before the trip. When we found her on Monday she was simply.. AMAZING!!! After some small talk, we got right into the shopping! She found me a full set of blue electric charms after hearing that BE is my favorite color (saddle, horseshoe & horsehead) and 2 camails! She didn’t have the other items on my wishlist. She dropped hints like “what else would you like, maybe a bag” and “can I have your passport to check”.. I felt awkward to start with asking for a BKC so I started with Picotin 18/22 or mini Evie in bright colors (both unavailable). I then said “do you think I can get a B or K?” she didn’t hesitate to pick up the conversation! It was as though she was waiting for me to pop the qn! LOL... She asked for colors & hw, I told her a small bag in neutrals with GHW.
She came back very quickly with a big orange box! Judging from the size I already guessed what the bag was going to be.. she took us upstairs and unboxed it in a changing room (btw, she had to get security into the room with us - supposedly it’s a new policy)

And voila!! Presenting my new black beauty! A gorgeous K28 Sellier in Noir with GHW!!!! I couldn’t believe she could read my mind cuz this is the exact combi I was hoping to get in a black kelly!

After that I also got a Jige 29 in Etoupe for my friend back home. SA told us that the rule in the GV store is as follows: 1 bag per passport every 6 months. Small bags (like the Jige) also fall into quota (1 every 2 months) so I had to get it under my friend’s passport.

I clarified with her whether the rule (for small bags) applies in FSH, she said no, only in GV. So if we can still get an appointment at FSH over the next few days that we are here, my friend can still get a BKC under his passport.

3rd attempt Weds 13 June: Failed to get an appointment at FSH but we decided to drop by anyway to see if they had anything we wanted from the other departments. Ended up not purchasing anything. Tried to talk to the hostess at the leather department. We were not rude or pushy in any way and we explained how we could not get an appointment for 3 days but she was cold and unwilling to entertain us. It was frankly quite an upsetting experience as her attitude and body language made us feel she couldn’t be bothered and she was just chasing us away like flies. I know they have to entertain many clients like us who have received rejections, but the lack of warmth and customer service for a luxury brand is quite disappointing. She told us that an appointment was required for ALL bags, not just BKC.

4th attempt Fri 15 June: Again we failed to get appointments at FSH. We planned to go back to Sèvres to see the SA from the first day but we could not make it.

5th attempt Sat 16 June: Did not try for FSH as we felt it was useless. Went back to Sèvres and found a kelly belt in RC which I was looking for. Again we were told no bags, not even a picotin or GP (apparently they have not received GP for 2 weeks!?)

This is my 3rd Paris trip and the 1st time I’ve gotten a kelly! It’s such a relief knowing that I will not be going home empty handed again! Unfortunately my friend was sad he couldn't find items on his H wishlist and couldn't get a B40... but we will try again with the George V SA as she was the best and gave us her contact and told us we could email her prior to visiting in future!

Thanks for reading my long post! Here’s a pic of my black beauty!

Congrats! We are twins on this black beauty! I’m sure you will love her as much as I do! [emoji6][emoji253][emoji322]

Hi. Just to say that it took many tries for me to be able to get an appointment through the new system, but I persevered for each day of my Paris trip. I had almost given up, and because we were having so much fun in Paris, and going to FSH is search of a bag can be such a frustrating experience, I was going to stop trying and just enjoy Paris, but DH said I should keep trying, so I did. Finally got an appointment on the last day of our trip, and the time did keep moving later in the day. But, the SA assigned to me was VERY nice in the end, and I was able to buy a bag that I love. So, I think the appointment system, while frustrating if one is not granted an appointment, is overall a big improvement on the giant lines of the past. It’s always amazing to see so many shoppers at FSH, and so many of them out of sorts because they cannot get the bag they want. One does feel sympathy for both the shoppers and the SAs.

How many tries it took you?

I think that the biggest factor is the SA. It all depends on whether they click when you meet them. Most members here shared their experience and disappointment of not getting anything and I don't think that it was due to them being demanding. For many first timers, the experience is real and nervous so most people are usually polite but if it is not your lucky day or the SA had a rude encounter with another client before they see you, then they may not be in a mood to offer anything.
Definitely agree. I didn’t wear any H items but my sis did. My SA and I clicked very well but my sis didn’t. At the end I was offered b30 but she wasn’t offered anything.

Do you think H is ignorant that their VIPs are resellers?

I have no idea! But like periogirl28 said, they do tend to move a wide range of H stock. I have seen a few resellers that are based in Paris and r Able to obtain stock just like that not to mention they are good stock too and in multiples! Last time I saw one seller selling a b25 noir and a K25 noir with red interior a k28 GA verso, a C24 and 2 x Kelly mini in croc and this was all in one lot[emoji33]. And this seller posts on a regular basis and the photos are mostly taken in store. maybe some are really good at pretending but I suppose it would be difficult for H to know what some are doing especially if they sell under the radar ‍♀️

I would think H would have a very good understanding of the reseller market, at least the major resellers. It is all part of the brand management etc. At the individual level, people coming in and/or making appointments, there is no way to know for sure and they probably dont care at that level.

Thanks for your reply and I guess as much too. Just a pity that we need to “compete “ with them for the bags at FSH even though we genuinely want to own a bag not sell it for a profit.

Apologies in advance if this has already been asked before (I’ve been following this thread for months and don’t think it’s such case..please correct me if I’m wrong)

DH and I met a wonderful SA who is in charge of men’s RTW and accessories during our visit to FSH earlier this year and we were handed his business card. We connected well and he went as close as asking for the specs of the dream bag I was looking for. Tho at the end he didn’t offer us anything and told us to come back next time.

I’ll be back in Paris next month (not with DH) and am thinking whether it would be a good idea to email him to see if I could make an appointment with him? (Although he isn’t directly in charge of the leather department. Would he also have the say to offer a B/K bag?) :confused1:

How would you all dear tpf-ers go about emailing an SA? Would you give him a list of H items you’re looking to purchase with together with the specs of your dream bag?

Thanks a lot in advance!

Alas I do not think a men's RTW SA can offer you a bag directly. At FSH these are different departments.
