Awesome luck! May I ask if you outright asked for a Constance upon walk in?
I spoke to the lady at leather desk and said that I was after a non quota bag and she asked which one and I said a Constance or Mini Lindy. She then said she had to get authorisation for an appointment and came back after 10 minutes to say I had an appointment. I waited another 10 minutes to see someone and sat down and said what I was after. I came out with a Constance 18. I did go in about 4 which I do think helped as they could fit me in. I had no pre spend at all.

did you end up getting them to hold it til you arrived? also were you able to get vat refund for items ordered online?
Yes, we emailed the general online email from the H website, they told us it wouldn't be a problem.
When we went to pick up the SLGs at the Sevres store, they were there.
I would make sure to let H know.

And we didn't get vat refund for online orders.

Hi everyone, wanted to share my personal experience shopping in H in Paris this past month (May 2024), and also ask this community to offer any insights and advice based on what you might know about the current H climate in Paris! Apologies that the post is long but I wanted to give as much color and detail as possible.

I was last in Paris a few years ago and bought a few items, and got the leather appt. Through lottery. Luckily I scored a B25 in the color I wanted, a huge success although not without some pain and headache then! I would assume I have decent purchase history with them in Paris, nothing crazy, although not in the last 2-3 years as I haven’t had the opportunity to return to France.

I spent about 5 days total in Paris and tried for the lottery appt. Every single day but was not successful. One day, I walked in and met an amazing SA who helped me in a lot of different departments like shoes, homeware, RTW. I was able to find a few items I loved which is great but like many posters have noted before, the flagship store doesn’t have as much stock and size range as one would think! My SA and I really connected, and she offered me her contact details and have been so responsive and friendly! I did mention leather and she can probably see from my purchase history I have been a client for awhile, and she said she couldn’t help me in leather, and recommended I talk to the hostess downstairs because people have had luck doing that, and try the infamous “walk-in”. I tried asking on that day, as well as all the other days, the response was no cancellations, etc. And I tried to approach the hostess stand when there wasn’t anyone around, but still no luck. And across all the days, I saw them turning down everyone and anyone.

I really really loved my SA and we really connected. I expect to return to Paris periodically for work and want to hear the group’s opinion whether I should continue working with this SA. I am concerned that I continue a great relationship with her, but there is never a leather opportunity. Is that true? Or does every SA ultimately have the discretion to help their consistent clients access leather? She has mentioned many times, the next time I’m in France, to let her know and she’ll make an appt. (I’m guessing general appt. Vs. Leather). What’s your read on this situation? I’m not fixated on needing to get a bag this trip per se but just want to understand if this is a completely silly idea to continue investing in this! Thank you!

Has anyone had luck with special orders in Paris for non-bag or non-leather items? What is the typical SM approval process and how does it work?

Has Paris stores become increasingly tight on appt. Leading up to the Olympics? Feels like there’s been some decent success on this forum and others with folks going in for walk-in appt. Or being offered an opportunity to talk to someone in leather after making some purchases / having a strong connection with a SA. Is this no longer true in April / May?
