I will leave this reminder as a sticky because tthis is often a thread that new members (or new Hermès lovers) post on - hopefully temporarily.

Not to mention the people paying line sitters to hold multiple spots for resellers!

There’s going to be no perfect system, and resigning to go with the flow for me is the least anxiety ridden way forward.
Tbh as a tourist I’m happier with the lottery system now. I used to queue everyday at the store because fomo! But those were the days I score more bags. Now it’s just plain luck but it’s all good haha. If it’s easy it’s not Hermes

Today I went to FSH to pick up the shawl I purchased online. As soon as I entered, a young man asked if I needed assistance. I told him I was there to pick up an online order, do a return and repurchase for the vat refund. He said that he was a dedicated SA for online orders and that you no longer have to do a return as they can easily process the VAT now. The store was busy but he seated me at a table by the entrance while he retrieved my item.

I then asked him if I needed an appointment for an Evelyne. He said yes but that I could ask for a cancellation. He took me to the leather desk and I told them what I was looking for. The leather SA said he’d see what he could do but couldn’t promise anything. I waited about an hour and he beckoned me over and said a leather SA was available.

Long story short, I got an Evelyne and a B30. I really think them looking up my profile and previous purchases in France helped and showed that I’m a consistent shopper even though my last B was in 2019. Also it was a rainy day. 🤣🤷🏾‍♀️

Hmmm... well, I can say that your Paris SA will be able to see the quote bags that you purchased within the past year or two even from another country. I suppose it may be up to their discretion if they would offer another highly sought after bag, even if not considered "quota" in Paris. Some may feel the client has received a fair share of desired bags for the time being, whilst others may be happy to oblige. There are no hard and fast rules in that regard, and you are likely to know the personality of your SA better than we might .... Either way, Good luck in Paris and please do keep us posted on how things develop!
I’m thrilled to share that I managed to score a lovely B25 in Paris. Dreams do come true!

I’m definitely not a VIP so I attribute this to a mixture of good luck, a wonderful SA who played a very critical role and an overall good client-SA relationship. Don’t think there’s any magic formula. And oh yes, it was a rainy day LOL.

Believe in the magic of Christmas dearies! Good luck!

Reporting back from our lottery experience this week. 5 attempts, no appointments. As everyone else said, no rejection emails anymore. We were able to apply via VPN in the states before leaving for the first attempt, but blocked from applying via Wi-Fi or cell networks in the US. Applying on the Orange network was fine, but we found ourselves blocked on Verizon and Wi-Fi, even in Paris. We’re able to apply via a VPN as a result. Didn’t attempt to go in store and ask about cancellations this trip. Guess that is the lottery for you! Bon chance my friends!

Thanks for sharing your experience. I'm not really familiar with the Orange network - is that via the French cell service (roaming) or esim card? I have Verizon myself, so trying to figure out the logistics ahead of time.

Sooo my friend got an appt tomorrow (hooray!!). As a tag along , can I ask for a non quota bag during her appt or is that a big no no? 😁
I personally wouldn’t do it, but there are probably many here who would. If you must do it, make sure to discuss with your friend first. If she is willing, then she should also be abke to make the request herself on your behalf.

Thanks for the response. I ended up not asking for anything. I was hoping for a bolide and my friend actually ended up with one for herself after she was told no Kelly’s or birkin 25. I’m happy for her :). But boy it was like a mad house at FSH Friday evening!!

I also tried my luck at the airport but was told no bag either, but did get a couple of twillys and a super soft men’s scarf for myself thanks to the help of a very nice SA there.

Congrats! What were the specs of the Evie and the Birkin/can we see some eye candy?

We are going to Paris in a few weeks. Except for stock, are there any particular categories that tend to be noticeably cheaper in France than in US/Canada? For example, blankets, and cashmere scarves seem to be on par with North American prices (less VAT), and shoes seem to be ~10% less expensive.

I find pretty much everything is at least 10% less in Paris, more like 15% - 20%. If you have sales tax in your state, then the savings are even more. You can go to the French website and look at the items with prices in Euros and compare to US site.
