Got appointment last week, asked for a kelly but SA said no more for that day. Thought we vibing she is so nice and complimented me but after she left to search she came back not in a good mood. Perhaps i didnt have a high purchase history? Shortly after i saw the other 2 desk were looking at k25,k28,k30 literally in one desk 3 sizes. Any advice what went wrong? She kept asking anything else u wanna buy, maybe i should spend more?
I guess we need more information:

Have you ever shopped at Hermes before?
Have any purchase history in Paris?
What were you wearing?
How was your demeanor?
Did you greet the leather desk mgr. appropriately? Did you greet the SA appropriately?
Did you attempt to speak any French?
Did you just generically ask for "a Kelly" (which could come across as "desperate" or "reseller")--or did you specify a color/leather/size (displaying your knowledge of the brand)?

In addition to the great reasons offered by others above, some of it could've come down to how the SA "sized you up"---as unfortunate as it may seem.

Honestly, if these factors had been a consideration, I never would have gotten any bag.
I was a basket case* at my first appt, no purchase history. . . So I hope this is not the case nowadays :hugs:

ETA: neurotic, probably blithering lol :wtf: :amazed:

Everything u asked above the answer is yes, i have had a history last year. Its prob an unfortunate event, and if it was any clearer my appointment was so late that day maybe they ran out of stock that day.

There are strong theories that each SA also has a daily limit of bags they are allowed to offer so there's a good chance it wasn't you, it was the SA who had already sold out of their allotment. Also, the other desk could have been showing the sample bags, not actual offers. You never know with Paris, so much of it is blind luck.
Thank you this relieved me, i dont think i did anything wrong but i think im lacking a purc history that couldve been the x factor of not getting it

I have an only feeling that it may not have had anything to do with you. Perhaps each SA only has access to a certain pool of bags or each SA only has x number of BKC to allot per day. Or perhaps, she really wanted to get you the bag you wanted and some other appointment snatched them first. The fact that she was asking you afterwards if there was anything else you wanted makes me think that she simply wasn’t able to get your first choices. If this was a lottery appt, I don’t think it has anything to do with spend. If it is a walk in appt, I’ve read other posts saying that BKC might not be possible for walk in.

as I hit reply post, I realized @acrowcounted alreday covered this ground and made other valid points
Thanks for this info, really helped me. Trying for more appointment, fingers crossed! Xx

When you see someone with that bundle of three different sizes, it's the sample bags. Almost the only time that you'll see SAs openly carrying a couple unboxed Kellys/Birkins at once out on the floor.

Yes SAs don’t usually offer you 2 or 3 differents bags for you to pick one. Were there boxes?
Although I have to admit I once could choose between 2 bags (K25) when I overheard the ladies next to me that no 25 were available only 30…. (Which they accepted and luckily left before my SA bring back the bag)

Also is it just me or FSH is the best store to get offer B/K? Never heard of Sevres or George V. Any reason why?
FSH is the world's flagship for Hermes and the original store. They probably have the most stock anyway AND most importantly, the most stock to offer to brand new customers. So most people would try their lottery attempt there.

Please don't overanalyse or try to find fault in yourself. Also, when they ask you "anything else you are interested in?", it's not a sneaky way of asking you to "pre-spend" or build a purchase history, it's actually to get an idea of what else (bags or non-bags) they can offer you if they can't get you a QB.

Due to overinflated re-sale prices, Hermes is super picky about bag offers. For example if I can walk I and buy a Kelly for €7000 and immediately flip for €18000 that is not sustainable, they absolutely have to limit who they sell to. There is also truth that they don’t have enough bags for everyone who wants to flip. It’s not that you give out ‘reseller vibe’ it’s just become so difficult to know who is a bag collector and who is a reseller.

I do agree that FSH is the best chance for a B/K in Paris, however, this past year I was able to get a lottery appointment at Sevres in April and a lottery appointment in September at George V. No luck with FSH. My SA in the US suggested to not specify a location when I applied. That made me a bit nervous as I always felt I had a better chance at FSH. Well, she was right. I got a Kelly 35 in April and a Kelly 32 in September. I do like bigger bags. I’m old now, so need room for essential items such as prescription glasses so I can see!

Previously on my visits to FSH I was given the opportunity to place a SO (I asked if that was possible and they said yes) and offered a 35 Kelly, which I gladly brought home.
This was back in the days of just lining up
and hoping for the best. No lottery appointments back then.

So you can get lucky at George V and Sevres from my experiences.
