I will leave this reminder as a sticky because tthis is often a thread that new members (or new Hermès lovers) post on - hopefully temporarily.

I started my “Hermes journey” last July and have spent about $15k in a year including an evelyn and Constance. I’ve spent about $6.5k of that $15k at a specific store in the US. They seem to be telling me I need to spend around $6k more to get a Birkin from them. If I am going to Paris the first week of December do you guys think I will get an appointment and get the Birkin from them? Or is there anything else I should do to not get denied? Thanks for any help!!! :)

If you read all the Paris threads (as stated in the title), your answer should be answered.

I just found a loafers that I fell in love with, but I can see them only on a French website. I’m going to Paris next week, and since I read that if I place an online order I cannot get vat refund, I thought maybe someone could possibly share their Parisian SAs email who I can try to reach and see if they can order it? If someone could be a so kind please send me a PM. I don’t expect that SA reply or that will be possible to order them but still decided to try my luck.

Just order them online and choose store pick up. If you are there to pick them up, you are able to return them and repurchase the returned articles (in that case with VAT refund). This is a common practice.

I placed an order online for pick up this past fall and still was able to get a VAT refund, you just have to ask upon pick up and someone will be happy to assist you.

i purchased some SLGs on French website to be picked up at FSH. The SA who assisted me with an in-store purchase was able to have cashier update my online purchases with my in-store purchase so I would get VAT also on my online purchases, too. They didn't refund the online purchases, just did some kind of paperwork to include it for the VAT refund.
From my experience, if they have the shoe and size online, I would order it. There are very limited sizes and even styles in the boutiques during the days I was in Paris. I regret not ordering some sandals I saw online because I thought I'd see it in store. Plus, there was always a wait to get an SA to help you if you wanted to know about stock and/or try on shoes in the boutiques.
(I was there about 3weeks ago. It was week of mens fashion week.)

ahh I thought I had! This stuff gets convoluted! So you’re saying you would expect it to happen?
No. If you read the thread here you will see that getting a bag is hit or miss. Some people have been lucky to get a cancellation appt but not many recently reporting that they got online appts. First comes trying to get an appointment either online or an in store cancellation. If you get an appointment then stock has to be available and the sa has to want to offer it to you. (Getting an appointment doesn’t equal automatically getting a bag.) It doesn’t hurt to try at all but try to manage your expectations, be open when going in and enjoy the show (there will be one lol). However, it does sound easier to spend the 6k at your home store for a bag (which is also no guarantee  ).

I don't have a crystal ball so I don't know if it will or will not happen. All you can do is try, since you are already there. I think it is easier to ask your SA if spending $6.5K will make you "qualified" to get a B. Why don't you ask him/her that so you can find out what really the situation is?

Thank you all for advices. I’m just not sure if shoes will fit. Because I have a couple Hermes shoes and they all in same 38 size, but when I tried orans, those were too loose in my usual size. I don’t know French to check French website return policy, but US policy for returning a pick up at store online order is only for store credit. So if I order and size won’t fit me, I will have to find other goods that I want to get instead for same amount? I’m not sure they will get items that I want. I know €1500 is not big amount considering Hermes prices, but if I spend €1500 on shoes I want to really love and wear the stuff I buy and not just because it’s Hermes

To share my recent story- i still haven’t got an appointment and tried 9 times last year and already 5 times this year both times with someone else and we have not received an appointment. I did request a specific bag with a sa who I bought stuff with at h sevres and because she started to understand me she rewarded me with the bag i wanted(halzan). I was very specific on colour.

I am wearing a casual herbag and already some strangers have asked me about the appointment process so I suspect there are tons of people requesting and every time i went to sevres h there was barely anyone waiting for leather sas.

Online returns is similar to US. You can print a prepaid label from your account. You can also always check if the shoe doesn't fit when you pick it up to see if they will return it for you in the store.
