I will leave this reminder as a sticky because tthis is often a thread that new members (or new Hermès lovers) post on - hopefully temporarily.

I was just in paris today and visited all three stores. I tried last year 9 times and never got an appointment and this time tried twice so far with no appointment.

I found and was told the best time to visit is first time in the morning for items. Based on service i loved george v and sevre since the sas really tried to help and found some fun stuff for me to buy. The fsh sas i met were so rude this time except the jewelry section. The slg girl made up a rule of one calvi duo per client for all three stores and didn’t want to look for anything even though there were no clients there.

I am here the rest of the week and will try again other days.

Dolls! My sister, niece and I will be in Paris for the week, and will try our lotto luck. So much fun to have the adventure and a story to relate. If you are lurking around Hermes say hi! if you snap a wildlife, it would make me laugh, but avoid snapping my rear end as it is NOT my favorite side  For identification purposes, I will either have a gris touterelle dogon waist bag or a chartreuse constance 24 in chevre or both. I am short.

hope to see some of you (and my sister) getting lucky!

Thank you everyone for sharing your Paris experiences, even ones that haven’t been able to secure a bag. I feel like my social media has been filled with all lucky people who have scored bags with no purchase history that it makes it seem so easy (when it most cases it’s not). Appreciate you all and hope we can all get the bags of our dreams one day!

I will be there in a few days with my daughter and will try my hand at the lottery but not holding my breath. I actually was able to get an appointment a few years ago, albeit when things were a bit less crazy and before the lottery system was implemented , but then I wasn't able to make it as my daughter had a nut emergency (she's allergic) and we ended up in an ambulance, and then scheduled to leave for London that day. Oh well. My daughter was fine and we had a lovely trip then as we will this time regardless of whether we win the lottery. C'est la vie.

This is the best attitude to bring to Paris, for Hermes.

Funny that you mentioned this. We must have different FYP algorithms. In the recent year or so, I have not seen one single post alluding to zero purchases. Most successful cases have had some kind of purchases either from the same trip or in the last 12 months. Years back, and I’m talking like 5-7 years ago, I recall that such news percolated once in a blue moon.

Regardless of whether I score a bag, I always cherish my trips to Paris. The H stores seem to have little gems that aren’t available back home and it’s just nice to see the colours and array of items on display.

When I started my Hermes journey, I was watching videos to understand realistically how long it usual takes to receive a bag offer, so that I could mentally prepare myself. YouTube and TikTok made it seemed so easy, especially in the main flagship store as long as you’re persistent and go every day or via lottery system. Thankfully, I saw a video that talked about buying things you like and making sure you don’t center your entire Paris trip on getting a bag. The YouTuber talked about how she went every day and still didn’t get anything so her first trip to Paris was filled with disappointment. When I visit Paris for the first time in April, I’m definitely gonna follow her advice :)

An appt is not a bag guarantee, irrespective of prespend. I’ve had zero purchases prior to my first FSH QB, a 25 kelly, in 2022. I had zero purchase history in France. Subsequent to that, on the next day, I went back and purchased RTW items about 5K euro. I believe others have had this experience too.

For lottery and other appts, while prespend purchase is not necessary, one may be limited by stock scarcity. I believe that lottery appts are somewhat restricted in the amount of bags available (most likely not the same pool as VIP or other categories). I’m not on social media other than TPF, but I would not necessarily believe what is posted on line.

ETA: hope you have a fun time in Paris @doloresmia and @loh
I can imagine limits on SLG, @cad33 . I believe there are also limits at H Madison due to scarcity

Congrats! That’s awesome! I’m curious about their RTW too since every country has different pieces available due to the cultural style

This! Last year I had no account in France- no account in Europe. I had purchased random things (or my husband had for me) without an actual account opened in other euro countries. I was offered various quota bags with zero purchase, history, or account.

Interesting to note about the limits at h madison on them and the funny part is i could order them online in paris but the biggest problem was her general attitude to any item requested such as if they had any pouches available.

I am totally okay not getting an appointment since I have felt the right sas globally have tried to help me find non-quota bags and my sa works with me just a bit sad.

Anyone know if we can ask the SA to update our passport info on their system? I opened my H account in Paris a few years ago and I had some spending history from back then. I will be visiting Paris again soon with a new passport (issued by a different country). Does that mean I would have to open a new account and give up all the spending history? Any thoughts will be appreciated!
Merci beaucoup.

You can definitely request to try and I believe they do this at the terminals as it might not be possible on their phones. Sometimes the cashier can update details. I have requested to do this as I travel and move around worldwide a lot.
