Thanks so much for the replies. Insightful!
Actually the max is about 1 month thereabouts for my experience. They will know their off days for sure but for last min assignments they won’t know. Eg.. involved in training the new SAs

Sometimes it doesn't matter when we make appointments because the SAs who end up going off can always arrange for their colleagues to cover for them. It's happened a few times to me. Summer is when many of the team go off as traditionally it's when they relax and spend time with family. Concurrently there might be fewer online slots available due to staff shortage. Those without children tend go off in September as the weather is still nice, but the kids in Europe are all back at school and flights are more reasonable. Giving sufficient notice of at least a month is helpful enough.

I thought I’d do a quick post on my recent stay in Paris. I was not successful in obtaining a lottery appointment but struck a fantastic SA in Sèvres and shopped with her on several visits. I bought a watch, some silks and SLGs as well as a bag (see below). She was an absolute delight and gave me her contact details on the first visit and a lovely handwritten note on my last visit. On my last day in the city she kindly arranged for me to have a walk-in leather appointment, where I was offered exactly the bag I’d been hoping for - a Bolide 25. I was flexible on colour which was fortunate because I was told the bag I was offered - Bleu Celeste Epsom - was the only one available.

I also visited FSH and didn’t enjoy the experience nearly as much as Sèvres although I did pick up a Cinhetic clutch in Magnolia chèvre, which is just adorable. But the shopping experience felt a bit like waiting to be served in a department store during the holiday sales. My French and my Cardamome chèvre Kelly definitely got me better service here!

I do think my profile was assessed by someone in the leather department before I was offered the walk-in at Sèvres, although it’s hard to say with certainty what the criteria were. Probably a mix of subjective (my SA liked me, wanted me to leave Paris happy and advocated for me) and objective (my purchase at FSH was mentioned; and I said I wasn’t interested in a B or K).

I chatted to a lovely lady from California while we were both waiting for our leather appointments at Sèvres. If she’s here on tPF, I hope she got her Picotin!
Sounds like a lovely visit!! Congratulations on your bolide!!

Sorry if this has already been mentioned or asked, but if a kind person wouldn't mind chiming in: for Paris "lottery" appointments, can you apply weeks/months in advance? Or can it only be requested the day before you want the appointment?

It can only be done on mobile phone right?

Sharing my recent experience. I’ve never tried the lottery leather appointment until my recent trip. Tried it twice at beginning but didn’t get an appointment which didn’t surprise me. I was shopping with my Paris sa and mentioned I tried the system but wasn’t able to get a leather appointment. She slowly looked at me and said, you don’t need one you have me. Ooooh k. Since my friend was traveling with me I was able to get her an appointment also for she couldn’t get one through the lottery system after many tries.

The million dollar qn is, did your SA grant you ladies the bags of your dreams!!! Very cheeky question I know but you left us with a cliffhanger.

Yes! I got offered different b & k's but bought the grizzly. Here's my posting:

I'm not sure my friend wants me to say but it's what she requested.

Hi all, I just wanted to share my story and experience of going to Paris and visiting FSH.
I was in Paris for 4 full days and every single day i tried to score an appointment, sadly no luck at all. I visited the store to buy a wallet for my husband and a belt for myself. The sales associate that I was assigned was extremely gruff and acted like she's doing me a favour by showing me what they had in their wallet collection. She did not want to interact, did not joke or even ask me how I was doing! I ended up buying the wallet but no belt as I couldn't bear her cold behaviour towards me, even though I was very polite and kind. When I was at the cash desk, I had a nice conversation with another sales associate. She seemed warm and friendly, but sadly i didn't get to convey my experience to secure a leather appointment. Overall, I feel sad and disappointed. I have tried in the past to secure a leather appointment as well, but I've had zero luck. Back home, London UK, I've also tried a lot to build a relationship with an SA. The SA I clicked with, left Hermes. Basically I have no bags from Hermes and maybe I shouldn't even dream. ☹️

DON'T give up!! I told a person I met at CDG who said the same thing as you. I talked that person to reconsider which she has luckly. Find a new sa to click with and build that relationship. You are so lucky to be that close to Paris plus there's lovely H stores in London. Not like me I'm on the west coast in the usa. I wasn't particularly happy with Faubourg this trip. Way to crowded, sa's weren't the friendliest but the service for drinks was excellent while I people watched.

If you haven't already tried, go to H Sevres. I find the sa's friendlier and helpful. Even George V was better than Faubourg. I hope you hang in there! :hugs:

So sorry to hear this! Don’t give up! I’m also based in London, have not been offered any B/K bag after 20 months with decent spend and I’ve tried the Paris lottery over 30 times now and have got rejected every single time. However, one day I’ll get lucky and/or perseverance will pay dividends.
