I will leave this reminder as a sticky because tthis is often a thread that new members (or new Hermès lovers) post on - hopefully temporarily.

Yep...you can't really even take a bag you own to find a twilly. But I do want to point out that while FSH is the worst, this happens elsewhere. I put my bag down in Madison (while waiting on a chair) and someone literally reached for it and asked how much it cost.

I would not want to discourage anyone from visiting though. The Paris stores are beautiful, they are each different, and you will see things , at least on display, that are rare to see elsewhere (Picnics and Shadows for instance are usually out these days). The scarf selections are also really broad and if you ask you can often find older designs. @Koucs is right, come in the morning on a weekday if possible. There are some great breakfast places near all three stores!
Would you be able to provide some of your recommendations nearby all the h stores? I am always interested in finding new places to celebrate or drown our sorrows after shopping at h.

Your description of madison store situation is kind of like my store though strangely I get the most asks for my non h stuff.

I will be in Paris next week and I was planning not to go to the store. I don’t want to deal with the insanity. It’s not pleasant for anyone.

Goodness, how disheartening. Makes one wonder if it’s even worth the effort of visiting a Paris store (and presumably going at the weekend would be madness  ). Is there a store that is less feral than the others or is it the same all over?
Honestly I think the 'feral' experience of the Paris stores is a matter of degree. While we were in Paris mid-April to late May, we visited FSH once or twice and it was incredibly busy both times (with some quite savage behavior at the leather concierge desk) though I did find a Calvi Duo there which have been absent in my store. George V was relatively quiet the first time we visited and thus the SA had time to spend with us but the next two times we visited, there was a huge line and we ended up sipping champagne at the George V Four Seasons instead of waiting.
I'd recommend Sevres which is my favorite store...beautiful and spacious. We met a few lovely SAs there who helped with shoes, RTW and leather. Because it was only a few minutes from our apartment, I dropped by often and it was occasionally crazy busy (with a mini-bus of customers being dropped off outside) but usually peaceful except at opening.

Yes! I put my bag on the counter and the SA and I were trialling twillys… a customer pushed through my family and tried to grab my bag. Thankfully the SA didnt appreciate her lack of etiquette just as much as i didnt…

I can relate but also this happens everywhere including Chanel with classic flaps and LV with literally anything LV, and I’m from Canada where we’re known to be polite lol.

Bar Josephine inside Hotel Lutetia which is next to H in Sevres is my favorite spot to people watch and process H highs and lows. I always end up there at the end bc Sevres is the last store I visit from all three. I get the sliders bc I eat like a child. Also the chocolate at La Maison du Chocolat Sevres in between H and Josephine is the best chocolate…it’s also the only chocolate I’ve tried here lol but it’s so so so good I don’t need to keep looking. The instafamous Cafe de Flore is also lovely and it’s less than a 10 minute walk from H Sevres. Pro tip: you can purchase their cups and plates in their gift shop and this makes the perfect gift for the millennials in your life.

We end up at dinner at Brasserie Lutetia because we are always so tired after H Sevres (their own cafe is tiny) and the food and service is good. :-)

@LVLVLVOE if you don't mind my asking, what's your routing/sequence when visiting all 3? Many thanks in advance :flowers:

If you like Asian, you can go to Ban Sue which is about 10 mins walk from Serves. Owner is a Thai. They serve authentic Thai cuisines. Recommended by a H fairy in FSH.

I love the H cafe too! I remember years ago I sat there and wrote a post here.
I’ve seen the H cafe used as some sort of informal daycare where two kids (10-13 yo) were left alone while the mother shopped. I was browsing the books when she picked the kids up and told them there was no sightseeing that day because she still had the other boutiques to go to. Made me a bit sad for the kids tbh.

Aside from that, the Cafe Gourmand at H cafe is quite nice.

That’s really sad.

I wish we had a thread just of places to go around a Paris store visit!
Around Sevres, Grace on Rue du Bac for breakfast. Café Varenne also on Bac for breakfast and especially lunch. If you are walking to the Jardin du Luxembourg afterward to decompress, Cafe Pavane has excellent cold drinks and pastries, and Il Gelato du Marche has some of the best ice cream in Paris.
