I will leave this reminder as a sticky because tthis is often a thread that new members (or new Hermès lovers) post on - hopefully temporarily.

I wouldn't go off with a bad memory, I think the shoe SA feels that you might appreciate the offer more and are less likely to resell the highly sought after Chypres. Afterall the SAs get a bad taste every day when they realise bags/ shoes /FJ they trusted clients with, are being resold at steep mark ups everywhere, on IG, *Bay, Facebook, Carousell etc. I have been told about this disappointment personally by my SAs.

At least when I was there (first week of May), I asked for Chypre sandals at all 3 locations and was told they were out of stock. I didn't even see any display chypres on the floor. However, I was able to find a pair at the CDG airport hermes so don't forget to check there too. ;)
I echo with the rest that it is out of stock here in Paris and pretty much most of France as I’ve asked in Nice, Monaco, Cannes and Paris city stores.

I asked about a pair of Chypre, not for myself but for a friend, a couple times this month in Paris with various SAs... they always said only small sizes. This Saturday, I was near the Sèvres store and decided to ask my regular SA there, she checked her phone, told me she had 2 pairs and to wait for her downstairs in the rtw section (shoes are upstairs right now, in the previous Petit H section). The store had just closed, so I was pretty much alone at the rtw, and she brought me the 2 pairs. It was weird to be taken to a less crowded space just for these, like if I asked for a quota bag!
I do believe they only had small sizes when I asked earlier....... but I also believe that they might sometimes say they're out of stock, just like they do for bags, while they have some available.
I can't blame them honestly, before going to Sèvres that day, I was near avenue Montaigne / Champs Elysées, and I visited this "concept" store, "second hand/consignment"... Funny thing, they mainly had brand new Hermès Chypre in various colors (for 1500€ vs 635€ retail), Oran, a few Hermès bags (Kelly, mini Evelyne for 4200€ vs 1540€ retail)... some Nike Dunks... by the selection of items, I guess their "concept" is more resell than consignment.

that's the reality now, massive local/tourist fashion buyers wanna take profits from major luxury brands. Highly sought after items are taken as investment  have seen a lot in Paris and other European countries. I can tell sometimes if the customers are buyers or real clients just listen to their conversations, of course many of them have pre-prepared scripts/stories. :noworry: I don't remember h was that popular back in 2010, in HK there were tons of popular items to be selected, even quota bags were not hard to get.

Prolly true. In 2014 I got Kellys in HK as a walk in client, first time visit to the stores, with no prespend, which now even Paris seems to require of new clients. Things have changed a lot when even Chypres are shown in secret and my SA offers them because they are "very popular"!

Been patiently waiting and reading this forum for a few months now! Finally going to Paris Thursday and hoping to be lucky enough to score an appt! My first Birkin ever was in Paris as a walk-in and felt soooo lucky to have clicked w SA. Since then, have found a local SA that I love and so have been trying to buy exclusively from her to support her. That being said, would looooove to get lucky again in Paris. Sounds like it is not worth trying to prespend for an appt though and prob have better luck at my home store, right?

If you love your local SA, it probably makes more sense to continue supporting her. I'm sure she has been good to you. The chances of obtaining an appointment online seem to be really, really low. I would not recommend spending for an appointment as it's a long shot and may not result in the bag offers you want, if any at all.

Hello everyone!
Is birthday appointment a real thing in Paris? My birthday is next week and I want to plan a trip and try my luck even if I cannot secure an online appointment. I was lucky enough to meet a great SA and buy a mini Kelly in Paris this January! It will be just over 4 months but I hope if I get lucky quota won’t be a problem, right? Even though the SA gave me his business card, he has not replied to any of my emails therefore I cannot be sure. I appreciate your help!

I just got back from my Paris trip. Even it was my birthday, I didn’t manage to secure any walk in appointments at FSH or George V. However I met a lovely SA at Sèvres who offered me a KTG in the color I want!

Just curious, did you have any prespend before your mini Kelly was offered to you? Was it from Sèvres? Generally I feel SAs at Sèvres are more friendly and polite.

Happy birthday to you and hope you enjoy Paris!

Oh I was really hoping it existed:( Yes I have a presend in Paris, not necessarily in that same trip but I have been shopping from various departments for several years. KTG is a great bag btw!

To get a manager approved appointment to buy another quota bag after getting a mini Kelly (which you don’t see a lot of at all in Paris) under six months ago, this year AND a birthday appointment seems like a huge stretch. One or the other, maybe, but for all you’d have to be real charming/memorable or spending tons. Hopefully someone has a good experience to share with you. It doesn’t hurt to try! All they can do is say yes or no.

Hi All,

Just wanted to share with everyone my experience this afternoon at Hermes Sèvres!
There wasn’t a queue when I arrived at 5pm and the store wasn’t crowded as what we would have expected.
My cousin managed to get the online leather bag appointment on her first try! However, when we arrived for the appointment, we were informed that there were no B/K/C available. The SA brought out 2 non quota bags instead. As both of the bags weren’t my style, I rejected both bags.
I saw other clients who also had the leather appointment all being offered non quota bags and were told that there were no more quota bags available.
To all who have gotten the lottery appointment, please do not go there with high hopes as it seems that striking the online leather good appointment does not equate to a B/K/C.

Just a follow-up from my previous post:
After purchasing a couple of items from various departments (items which I was looking for), I tried to ask the SA if there’s any chance she will be able to help me get the bag of my dream.
She told me to come back and look for her the next day and if I was open, she should be able to find something for me.
Does anyone else have such an experience? Does it mean it’s a hint that there’s a chance I’ll be offered something at least?

Agree. In my opinion only (based on my limited experience), spend doesn’t matter as much as people might think in Paris, and birthday appts are rare.

was this the leather SA who helped you? Or a different SA?

I think the fact that she mentioned IF you were open, she should be able to find something for you suggested she can probably help you get A bag, but not necessarily your “dream bag" or a QB, unless you mentioned in this conversation what you were looking for specifically and then she said she should be able to get it for you.

Also, if it was not a leather SA, you may still be at the grace of the leather sa assigned. (For example - i had a lovely sa who tried to help me, but the leather SA definitely did not want to and gave me the total run around.. would say she had xyz bags available to offer but then go check and say it was oh it just got sold, or yes they have it but only in colors opposite of what i asked for - as i see other SAs bringing out the same or similar colors of the bag i requested right after lol).

If it was the leather SA who made this comment, then maybe she felt bad about your experience and wants to help make it happen for you!

It was the leather SA who helped me. After my cousin bought the non qb she was offered, I asked the same leather SA if she could also help me in the other departments which she said she could and did.
After getting the items that I wanted, I tried my luck and asked her if it was possible for her to get me the bag that I really wanted and she told me to come back the next afternoon and look for her and she should be able to find me something I like but to be open.

Separately, if say she did indeed offer me a QB and I managed to strike the lottery appointment, I wouldn’t suppose I’ll be able to get another QB then, would I?
