I will leave this reminder as a sticky because tthis is often a thread that new members (or new Hermès lovers) post on - hopefully temporarily.

I guess they must’ve changed the policy or as someone suggested, pick and choose who they tell certain information. I was in Paris in April and all 3 stores told me the Constance was a quota bag. Perhaps they might’ve changed since then but like everything else with Hermes, there are no set rules.
I was in Paris in April and was told that the Constance is not a quota bag. I asked because there seem to be a lot of U-tubers saying that it is a quota bag and I wondered if things had changed. I was told no and I was offered a b25 which I accepted and I was told that I could also purchase a constance if they had stock. Exact same story in Sept of 2022 when I purchased a K28- but at that time stock was very low and my SA said that due to low stock levels it was only 1 bag at this time.

I know that you can purchase both a B/K and a constance in the same appointment- but I think it really depend upon stock levels at the time.

TPFers, how many quota bags can you buy each year? I've been hearing different answers e.g. one every 6 months, or one every season. Just wanted to see what others' experience are!
SA tells me once a year..although I got two last year (from my SA in the USA). I think you are getting different answers because the actual answer depends on what your SA/SM actually wants to offer you..of course mainly, it is dependent on your "relationship".

Yes, was told the same thing. Constance is a QB. And actually, it doesn't matter what other people say..if your SA says it is, then it is! That is just the way with H usually!

Hi all! Just wanted to share a happy story that happened earlier today!

When I was in Paris last summer, I met a lovely SA at George V as a walk-in, and after buying a few things, she offered me a gorgeous K25 in etoupe. She gave me her business card and phone number after to get in touch. So I reached out to her in April as I knew I’d be in Paris soon and we set up a morning appointment. I sent her some links of RTW items I wanted, but honestly the store really didn’t have many and I figured I’d just see what was around.

When I got to the store this morning, I had the best time trying on some beautiful pieces my SA set aside for me. I ended up getting a leather skirt, a dress, a sweater, 2 belts, and a couple of lipsticks. Total spend was about 8k euro.

At the end when she asked… anything else you want, I decided to shoot my shot! I said I’d love a birkin in a neutral like Chai or Trench, or maybe a gorgeous blue like Bleu de Prusse. She said they hadn’t had Bleu de Prusse in a long time, and I replied no problem, I just love that kind of chameleon blue color. She said she didn’t know if she could get me one and to wait for a bit. And then 10 minutes later she comes up to me with that big orange box!! It was a togo B30 in Bleu de Prusse with GHW! Literally my dream bag! She said I was incredibly lucky and after months of not having that color at all, this one just arrived that morning. So of course I fell over myself saying yes yes and telling her I loved her.

Anyway best of luck to everyone and may the H gods shine on you as well ❤️

Love this, and this my friends is why it's a good idea to share specific colors you absolutely love. I had the same thing happen to me with Vert Cypres. (Also, great confirmation that BdP is back!!)

May I know if you did this at FSH? I had a chat with a Hermes SA at Bordeaux today and she said it’s impossible to do a refund for an online order and repurchase at Paris store. Not sure if this true ☹️ I can only find the item I want online and I would like to get VAT refund.
You can do this at any store. You can select any store for delivery/pickup. I did it last May in Monaco and in November at George V.

My 10 day trip to Paris just concluded, so I wanted to share my experience (tl;dr: no luck with an appointment) and some observations:
  • Everyone in my party (3 people) applied every day for 10 days via the online system and we were all unsuccessful at getting an appointment at any of the Paris stores
  • On the first day, all of us had issues getting the application system to work and had to call customer service to sort it out. They “sent our email addresses to IT” and this fixed the issue within 24 hours. So really I think all of us only successfully applied 9 times
  • I asked for appointment cancellations whenever we were in the area of an H store, probably on 3 different days. Each time, the answer was a friendly and polite “no”
  • FSH is a total zoo as others have shared. The leather appointment SAs got bombarded all day with people asking for appointments. Though I was unsuccessful in getting a walk in appointment, I would still suggest waiting to approach the desk until there are no other customers in earshot. IMO, there is no way they would grant an appointment on the spot if others could overhear the conversation. However, finding an open opportunity to ask will be challenging because there was usually a line of 3-4 people waiting to ask the same question
  • FSH had a surprisingly good selection of shoes in my size (women 42), and the SA I purchased from pulled me aside and “offered” me a pair of mint green Chypres sandals (I think they were men’s). I tried them on in a private room because she said they are very rare and it would cause a frenzy if I tried them on in the general shoe area. This made me kind of sad because I didn’t do anything in particular to be offered the shoes, but she said she liked me and wanted to help me. While the SA was very sweet, it kind of left a bad taste in my mouth that they will only offer items to people they “like.” I know this is how the brand works, but to see it in action I thought it was pretty slimy. Regardless, I was unimpressed with the shoes and thought they were quite frumpy looking, but I do have big feet. After she helped me with the shoes and offered me the Chypre sandals, I figured I might as well ask if she would be willing to help me with a leather appointment. I asked and she was apologetic that there was nothing she could do. She did ask if there was anything else I was looking for and also helped me with a scarf purchase
  • While I was waiting for my SA to be assigned (maybe 15 min) I observed another couple looking at a pair of exotic sandals. They kept talking about the upcoming birth of their child, how they were very excited, and how the husband had already bought himself a new watch to celebrate but they were looking for a present for the wife. They ended up purchasing the shoes, then as soon as the SA came back, they asked him to help them get a leather appointment because the wife really wanted a special bag to celebrate the birth of her child. The SA was polite but said there was nothing he could do. They then decided to return the shoes on the spot after it was clear he was not going to help them. IMO, that interaction is a good reminder that EVERYONE comes in with their own story about why they want a bag. From my limited observation, it is very unlikely that you will convince an SA outside the leather department to help with a bag, especially if you are not spending big $$$
  • There are many Parisian holidays in the month of May, and my understanding from the SA I worked with is that FSH is the only store open on these holidays, so the store gets even more crowded (and your chance of a leather appointment much lower)
A few other general observations about Paris bags/shopping:
  • Bag spotting in Paris was amazing! I didn’t get any wildlife pics but the concentration of designer bags was very high. Lots of bigger, slouchy bags like you see in the wildlife thread
  • Galleries Lafayette was a very fun place to shop, but VERY crowded. I found Le Bon Marche to be a much more relaxed shopping experience where you can browse without being assigned to an SA in most of the boutiques, and there were no lines when I was there
  • I was looking at a bag from Delvaux but there were some light scratches on the hardware, so I asked if they had more in the back but they said it was the only one. I visited another boutique and the story was the same. Not sure if this limited stock is typical of other bag styles but I ended up taking the bag as the scratches were very light and it was a style I had been eyeing for awhile
  • Detax at CDG has changed (apparently some time in the last 4 months) and you need to do it before you go through security
  • CDG stock is low almost everywhere, except Cartier which had a wide selection and a very large boutique. The Hermes SAs, specifically, were completely clueless about the brand and stock was very low
I hope this is helpful and wish everyone luck with the appointment system who hopes to get a special H bag in Paris!

Congratulations on your B30! The color is beautiful and I like how it matches your outfit :) May I check with you the cost of this bag in €? My friend got a Togo B30 recently and told me that she paid more than 9K € for the B which doesn’t sound right to me. I thought the price tag was 8,150€ only

Please go to the Detax area in the basement at CDG first thing, before you even check in as they might want to see the goods. It's straightforward, scan all your forms at the Pablo machines and go to the officer only if prompted. My latest experience in early May was no queues, the officer stamped my form without inspection even with CITES shown and we were away in 15 mins total. This is not always the case reported by friends so go to the airport early and give yourself 3 hours before your flight.
It's almost certain that any Hermes bag, fine jewellery and/ or a high total spend is going to require inspection. I would pack all items in one piece of luggage so that you only need to open that one when asked.
Also passports from selected countries can now use the E-gates for faster immigration clearance.
(I think this is relevant to the thread.)
