Hello, just thought I’d update! I did walk in and I bought shoes I wanted for both my husband and I but still no luck with an appointment. A sweet SA really tried to help me ydy by offering to try and get a c2go or k2go for me. Unfortunately there was only one left and it was not a colour combo that I would ever wear and so I let it go. FSH weren’t helpful at all! Never mind, it clearly wasn’t meant to be x

Hi,

It is very possible to have one FSH SA help you with all of your items. That being said you do need to have some realistic expectations: 1) Tracking down/transfer of items- they generally will not do this in advance. If it is available on the website you can preorder and have it delivered to the store. If it is at another store in Paris they will likely tell you to go there and purchase as they don't exchange stock between the Paris boutiques. If is available in France they will request transfer to FSH but only after you arrive. So if you are there for a short period this will not work. 2) SA's are generally happy to provide you with their contact information on request- although most do not have cards as they are too junior. There has been a lot of turnover! 3) Bags- most FSH SA's are too junior to be able to guarantee bag appointments in advance. Many will say that they will be happy to assist you in the future. They may even say yes they can assist you with bag appointments. You won't know if this is true until your next visit.

If you find a senior FSH SA who is willing to assist you in the future and arrange appointments then you have found the holy grail! I would caution you to manage your expectations!

Thanks for sharing! From my experience I have had a FSH SA working in the Women's shoes and belt department (who helped me with buying belts and shoes) share her card with me. However, she said she only works in those departments so I assume she doesn't help with leather appointments. Before my next visit, do you think it is worth sending her an email to ask if she might be able to assist with a bag appointment? I am not sure if this is a good approach!

TPFers, how many quota bags can you buy each year? I've been hearing different answers e.g. one every 6 months, or one every season. Just wanted to see what others' experience are!
The "rule" in Paris is 2 per year. That can be 2 in a month (or in a day!) or 11 months apart :)

There used to be a rule of one from 1 Jan to 30 Jun and one from 1 July to 31 Dec (so you could theoretically buy one end of June and one beginning of July), but that went away several years ago.

The rule is breakable :)

You can always try, but I think what she said it’s true/she probably only works in that department. There’s been some changes supposedly. I worked with a more senior SA (or one who’s been there a while at least) who said she used to be able to help get bag appointments and work with the leather department, but says now the leather department no longer allows that and only leather staff can help you.

My SA was able to help me with some other things around the store and it seems more flexible than last year, but not for bags and for certain items she had to refer me to a colleague.

Has anyone seen this screen when you try to register for an appointment? I’ve been seeing this screen after I do the “I’m not a robot” test and click the orange button! And after this it redirects me to enter my details again….

There are also other times that I saw the “you’ve been blocked” screen as well. Is there any way to resolve these issues?

Hi @momosingsing - My friend was having these issues too. 1. Make sure you're not using a private/incognito browsing window. H does want to track your activity. ;) 2. After she got blocked, she wasn't able to register for an appt the same day but was able to do it the next day but used a different email address.

My husband was able to get a leather appointment today via walk-in! We were shopping around for his shoes and we got a tie as well. He has no track and when he checked in with the appointment person for any way to get an appointment, she immediately gave him a spot. They didn’t have any B or K but they offered me a black rose gold constance 19, am in love! I always purchased a verrou online but when i saw it in person and since i had a constance i also asked the leather SA to change it for me to a white mini roulis! I’m extremely grateful and wanted to share my experience with everyone as I have stalking this site for some time !

If she is at FSH and she told you that cannot help you with bag appointments I would not e-mail about bags- you will likely get a flat no or no response. Furthermore, you may irritate your contact. A better approach may be to e-mail her and let you know you are coming and if she could help you get shoes, belts and other items that you are interested in and if she could assist you with getting these items. Let her know the dates of your visit, don't contact more than a month before your visit as I don't think they can hold items for long.

If she responds and says that she is willing to assist- fantastic you now have someone helping you to get items that you want/need that may not be in the store during your visit. When she sends you an e-mail to let you know that she has the items that you could perhaps mention that you will also be trying to get a leather appointment, and if she has any suggestions for you on how to be successful. Don't ask her directly for an appointment- this will irritate her! She already knows that you want an appointment. She may not respond or she may flat out tell you to apply online or perhaps she offers to assist, you never know but her response will help you to determine if the likelihood that she may be able to help if you read between the lines of communication.

When you go to pick-up your items from her you will have another opportunity to lie the groundwork for assistance with a leather appointment if you have been unsuccessful in procuring one online. This may or may not work for a leather appointment but if nothing else you get items on your Wishlist. Best of luck!

Congrats! Was this at FSH?

Your above suggestion is the same thing no? It’s indirectly asking her for an appointment. Or help with one, which is the same.

No not the same thing at all and this is very key to understand. Asking directly is pushy and rude as she has already indicated that she cannot book an appointment. North American's are often viewed as rude, pushy and lacking in any social graces. Knowing when you are being impolite is quite key to success in Paris. There are cultural differences.

This approach is indirect and lets the SA know that you are interested but you have not asked her to intercede but provide advice. You deliver the same message but in a different way. The difference is indirect and subtle the other is direct and rude which gets you no where in Paris.
