Just a quick question for the 'professionals'. Going to Paris in a few weeks and of course hope to get a leather appointment and maybe even a bag. I did get a 24/24 29 a couple of years ago that I love. I am getting mixed answers on whether I should bring that bag and wear my hermes sneakers to the store or will I look silly?... deciding on hermes accessories or Chanel accessories. Ive read you have to look the part- but at the same time I don't want to look like I am trying too hard but I also don't want to look like I am just checking it out. Thanks in advance for the advice.
You’ll see tons of people in head to toe Hermes so I wouldn’t worry about shoes and a bag. Good luck!

Hi! Sorry if this has been answered before, but this will be my first time visiting Hermes in Paris and want to be prepared.

When talking about getting a leather appointment, and pre-spend does this pre-spend need to be done in Paris? Or can the SAs in Paris see my account from the US? I guess I’m wondering if all my stateside purchase history “counts” towards anything, or if I should shop a little at the H stores in Paris?

Also, can the SAs see my wishlist from back home in the states, or do I need to connect with a SA in Paris and make a new wishlist with them?

Thanks I’m advance!

I was dressed non hermes, carrying my Lindy 26 only and I got a Birkin. Another time I had still my Lindy (I dont bring any K or B in Paris, too stressed about robberies) and I had more H accessories like shoes, belt, bracelets ... and I scored nothing.

I have seen ladies very well dressed with H RTW or Designer's getting nothing and others in legging + sneakers from popular brand like New balance or Nike, getting a quota bag.

I dont think it matters :) Come with an outfit you feel comfortable with. Being natural has more chance to lead to an offer than acting or pretending :)

Getting a leather appointment in Paris is a lottery, and not related to people's pre-spend. As far as we know, Paris cannot see spend from the US, except for perhaps quota bags, and any spend in the US doesn't "count" towards anything in Paris. Paris is one of the only places in the world where if you are lucky enough to get a lottery appointment, you can score a coveted bag without pre-spend.

SAs in Paris cannot see your wishlist. You will give your wishlist to the SA in Paris if you are chosen for a lottery appointment and if they have something that matches what you'd like, it's your lucky day.

I would say the best way to be prepared is to not go in with any expectations and just see what happens. Apply for appointments. Check out the stores (they are gorgeous) and enjoy your time in Paris.

I was invited to a private event today at the FSH location and wanted to share my experience. I saw beautiful bags being offered to left and right, it was amazing.

I personally purchased an exotic Kelly 20, Constance 18, 2 Evelyne Mini’s, and few other non-leather goods.
Sounds like a fun day of shopping! Can you please share colors of your new gabangs? (Cute username btw. Always nice to meet another Korean/Korean speaker here ☺️)

Thank you :)

Kelly 20 in Mimosa (matte croc) w/ phw, Constance 18 in Gold w/ ghw, Mini Evelyne in Bleu France w/ ghw, and Mini Evelyne in Etoupe w/ ghw!

Can someone DM me a couple of moderately priced hotels you like to stay at and that are in close proximity to the H boutiques? Unfortunately for this trip, I cannot spend the price of an exotic B/K for my stay.
Westin! Walking distance from FSH. The suite is very reasonably priced and the staff were super friendly

I second @Meltg
I love Westin for its location. Easy walk to everywhere, especially shopping. Lol
Although it could use an update and they are understaffed, everyone there tries their best and are very nice people. If you could, book a room with view.

For those who have SAs in Paris, do you know if their phones are able to receive international text? My DH exchanged numbers with an SA we met and they text back and forth a bit while he was in town(he got a local number while there). The SA said to reach out and let him know how I like the items my DH bought but when DH tried to text him a few weeks later it seems the text aren't going through. Any insight would be appreciated, thanks!

Yes, they should be able to receive international texts; many people in France use WhatsApp to communicate, including SAs.

He has his WhatsApp information but they didn't communicate there, just through texting. His WhatsApp is showing he hasn't been on the app for a month or so. That's why I'm trying to get a firm answer on the international texting. And unfortunately, he didn't get his email, just his WhatsApp and cell.

The SA may not use WhatsApp as often as iMessage/text, is a personal preference.
If your husband texted him from the local number, just have him text from the number he uses now and mention that’s his number when home.
Alternatively, send the WhatsApp message and take it from there.

Sadly recently it seems despite having a leather appointment, they will usually only sell you a non quota bag unless u buy other stuff (fine jewelry/homewares etc) . So lets just say “leather appointment” really means a chance to buy an H bag, not necessarily a chance to buy a birkin or kelly. In hindsight, you do have more chances in Paris to get a B or K on “one leather appointment visit” versus (multiple visits with an SA in US and prespending other H items with US SA).

Doesnt apply to all. Sometimes it’s all about luck too.
