I will leave this reminder as a sticky because tthis is often a thread that new members (or new Hermès lovers) post on - hopefully temporarily.

I think Paris lottery would ideally target people with zero purchase history who perhaps don’t have access to a home store. The option of no store preference gives the best chance at an appt.

Im not sure why someone who has an extensive long term history at Sevres would not have a regular SA and therefore make a direct appt with that SA or simply try sevres in the first place?

@hec97 , you do not need an appt to get a wallet. You do not need any purchase history to get a leather appt. Only luck. I agree with @_gelato_ above. If you do want a BKC, don’t settle on something else. I’ve heard that people on the thread get. Non QB; subsequently get a leather appt, and then are told, I cannot offer you a bag bc you just got one.
This is super helpful insight!! Thank you so much - i entered the lottery today and feel lucky that i was able to get it confirmed cause my sister and mom couldnt register (apparently a lot of people were applying) so here's to hoping i get an appt!!

I’ve noticed that there were a good amount of people there from other countries just for the day to go to Paris to try their luck. One of the SAs said they had an abnormally large amount of appointment requests this month. I’m guessing it’s always busy at Christmas, right?

I talked to a lady there from Dubai that had been trying for weeks before flying in. I over heard one lady that was there from Japan and hadn’t been able to get an appointment and she kept getting the can no longer book appointments message. The appointment desk receptionist pulled up her appointment requests and told her she tried too many times! Not sure what is considered too many but he was scrolling through all of her requests on his phone lol
It's not really ok for them to tell someone they've "tried too many times" when they won't give the person an appointment. The audacity! I mean their protocol is to go online to make an appointment - as though it's easy haha

Tried too many times? What a ridiculous answer. Best to avoid Paris when trying to score a bag (especially if you’re not looking for quota bags). Zoo-like vibe with snobbish SAs!
I've had two leather appointments by luck in Paris (not via the system) in the last year, and both of those SA's were the rudest I've ever encountered at Hermes. My SA's in other departments were great! At my appointment more recently,I was asked what I was interested in, she cut me off mid sentence and said it was not an appointment for Birkins or Kellys! I told her I was really wishing for a kelly sellier 25 anyways.. Crazy. I was only offered a few non quota bags. Meanwhile, another woman there was offered a bag in a private room. I think what's so frustrating with them is how transparent their game playing is. I have purchase history, dress decently (not sure if that matters to them or what), and am super friendly and kind. So who knows why they are so rude to me?

Meanwhile I'm on my 3rd wishlist in a row in London where I live, still no luck there either. : /

My therapist call me “Ms. Ridged Boundaries” so THE moment someone, anyone, told me that I was blocked that conversation would have been over and I would have gone to another brand. There’s no way I would’ve stood there pleading. None. For a bag or some home goods? Nah. While I empathize with people thats had bad experiences, I also struggle to understand why some people continue to support brands that treat them badly. On this very forum people will go to multiple stores and have multiple bad experiences and still keep trying. Such odd behavior.

When a brand show me that they aren’t a good fit for me or don’t want me as a client I move on especially one where I’m just buying things that I don’t NEED. You have one maybe two times to treat me in a way that I feel not good and that relationship is over. That brand would be non-exist at in my head. I’m more of a control my actions and things I allow than trying to change things I have no control over (helloooo serenity prayer!). Things will not change if people continue to allow such behavior.

Yeah usually if you didn’t get an appt online, the SA would be reluctant to offer you quota bags. I just don’t understand why SAs at the leather dept are mostly snobbish and rude. Weren’t they trained to assist clients? Aren’t there store managers/director/whatever who monitor all SAs and their performance? I suppose it’s part of the SA’s annual performance review (or maybe such thing doesn’t exist in H world???)

I notice your profile name  funny I’m in LA but wish I were in London! We should swap places lol

For those of you who may recall, I was recently in Paris and had no luck with an appointment online or requesting in store. We have since travelled on to Budapest and currently now arrived in Prague. My husband jokingly encouraged me to continue to apply whilst we were still travelling in Europe given how short the flights between various countries are. Many things are closed second half of tomorrow (Christmas Eve) in Prague so I just casually applied for an online appointment not thinking much of it. I just got an appointment confirmation *screams*. It is at the George V store and the appointment is rather late in the day so I have no idea how this is going to play out and what will be ‘left over’. But I just booked my flight from Prague to Paris tomorrow and back again. Good thing is flights are really cheap on Christmas Eve. Am I crazy?! I feel crazy, but hoping all the stars align and I get a bag for Christmas. Wish me luck and please send all your positive vibes my way. Will keep you all posted. If anyone has an experiences with the George V appointments and stock availability etc please do share!

Sigh no email for an appt :( guessing it's a rejection based on what I've heard from others. Hoping we get a good SA when we go tomorrow regardless for other items!
Some posters suggest if you are not lucky in your appt to consider saving your spend for your local store. It’s certainly something to consider. I am one of the few who do not think prespend has anything to do with offers. (During two visits, I have been fortunate to be offered two QBs and two non-QBs with almost zero prespend). Re the odds of getting a ‘good’ SA, I surmise it’s a few things:

I believe that FSH SAs are not on commission. Certainly mine has not been at all pushy on my relatively non existent prespend. I did buy a few things after my first offer, but my second visit, pre offer, I found nothing my size. A good SA is no doubt aggravated by being asked by 99.9% of all prospective clients for only two items out of the entire FSH universe. They are not inclined to want to enter into a relationship with a customer who only sees those two things, or who tallies up other items into prespend calculus.

I am guessing, with no basis in fact, that an SA only has x slot(s) a day to offer a QB. And, they are probably exhausted by QB requests, and they have to deal with zillions of customers clamoring for the same thing. So, if they say no QB is available, it may be a combination of no QB is available for THIS SA to offer at this time AND possibly none for YOU at this time. So, I would try not to take the refusal personally; or assume the SA is lying out of some malice; etc.

Of course I could be totally wrong too; this is JMO

ETA: fingers crossed for you @lostie19

I don’t think you’re crazy at all!! If I lived in Europe I’d likely do the same thing (I loved country hopping when I was abroad there). I was offered a Kelly 28 at George V last summer if that helps. Hope you have a successful trip!

The joys of being in Europe! I live in Australia and there is no concept of country hopping because we are so remote so this is rather exciting!
So glad to hear you were successful with a bag offer, fingers crossed I have a similar success story to share and thankyou for the well wishes!
