Has anyone requested a Paris leather appointment from the US and flown in just for the appointment? Has this worked out?
I don’t think this would work because most of the flights to Paris from the US are overnight so one would get the confirmation at say 8/830 pm and then need to book and get on a flight 3 hours later in order to be in Paris by morning? This could depend on your location in the US but I’m fairly certain it would be too much hassle

What about Saturday request for a Monday appt?

Came back from Paris, after trying for over 10 days I was unlucky and never got an appt. All emails for rejections were coming in between 3-4 am and my husbands rejections would come the following day.
The stores were the worst I had seen them and stock was low. Oasis sandals weren’t available in my size, SLG’s were sold out and in general nothing was available. The SA’s did really try and help, but it seemed that everyone was in Paris. While I was there a lot a celebrities were there and were posting about the bags they got. Even though I never got a bag Paris is beautiful at Christmas and should be enjoyed to the fullest.
Please enjoy you trip and if you score an appt your lucky.

That might work, but then you can only apply one day out of the week which isn’t enough to have a fighting chance. Someone else on this thread who lives in Paris tried 50+ times in one year and didnt get an appointment. Seems easier to buy from your local store or plan a month in Europe and hope for the best.

Only applying on Saturday decreases your chance more drastically. This does not sound like it is worth the risk at all. Even if by a very small chance you were to get an appointment in Paris there’s still no guarantee that you’d get a bag. Not to mention even if there are bags they may not have what you are looking for. This method would take incredible luck. So far it’s been a week of several of us applying online and no one scored an online appointment. I was only able to get a manager approved birthday appointment.

Can you plan a trip to be in Paris for some time? Maybe around your birthday lol (although that’s no guarantee either. I read in this very thread that some SAs don’t care about your birthday). Seems H is intentionally making it more difficult for people to come in to just get a bag.

After the excitement from last night’s appointment confirmation, the frenzy of booking flights and airport transfers etc, combined with lack of sleep from thinking about all the possibilities, I somehow managed to get myself in one piece to the airport. My appointment was for 6pm today and as I am waiting to board the flight from Prague to Paris I refresh my appointment confirmation and find myself panicked to see it has been brought forward to 2.25pm. My flight arrives at Paris at 2.15pm! I frantically call a number via a quick google search and surprisingly calmly (definitely did not feel that way on the inside) I explained to the lovely lady on the phone who assured me that it is ok to be late, I just might need to wait to be seen by an SA. Anxiously wonder how it’s possible for my appointment to get moved up so quickly, does it mean there are no bags and therefore prior appointments are getting wrapped up quickly?!?

Arrived late but the lady at the leather appointment didn’t seem phased at all and said someone will be with me shortly. The place was hectic and there were people everywhere. Within a few minutes I was seen by an SA. She was nice and polite but perhaps not quite as warm as I had hoped. She was definitely looking me up and down as she was talking to me. I felt I was reasonably well dressed with a few Hermes items peeking through, not sure what she made of it all. After chatting a little and asking me for my wishlist she went off to search. After 10mins or so she said follow me. I got into a lift with her and she lead me into a private room, asked me what I would like to drink etc. She said I don’t have exactly what you want but I have something special, then left to get it. I was excited because she obviously had something to offer me and I was in a private room so was hopeful it was something that need to be shown in private. When she returned and I saw the box my heart sank because I could tell immediately that it was not a Birkin (my bag of choice) by the depth of the box. She opened it and it was a black Constance 18 epsom with rose gold hardware. The bag was beautiful and I know many people would be very happy with such an offer. However gold hardware is important to me. When I was explaining to her that my hardware of choice is gold she said ‘mm yes I can see that’. I wasn’t sure what to make of that - I was wearing my VCA perlee bangle and ring but wasn’t overly flashy. Anyhow I digress, even if Constance was in gold hardware I think I would have still declined. My heart is set on a Birkin and I didn’t want to get caught up in the experience and lengths of getting here to simply buy something that was not on my wishlist. To her credit the SA did try to offer alternative choices but unfortunately not a Kelly or Birkin. Fair to say I was definitely disappointed/gutted but I was fully aware that this could be a likely outcome.

It is a sad trip back to the airport that’s for sure!! I had a feeling of guilt for using up one of the few days my family and I had in Prague but I don’t underestimate how fortunate I am to have had the opportunity to experience an appointment in Paris and get offered a Constance as I know many here have missed out altogether. Thanks again to everyone for all their warm wishes!!! It was an experience for sure. I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas spent with your loved ones. Happy holidays!

Thank you for sharing your story. I didn’t realise George V had private rooms; the store is small and I’ve seen people offered QBs in the open so just assumed they didn’t have private rooms like the larger stores.

Happy to share my experience as I always find other people’s stories so fascinating and insightful.

I saw two people getting offered picotins on the floor where I was initially waiting.

We went in a lift to the room, I think it might have been upstairs now that I think about it. She used a key to unlock and there was a small desk and chairs on either side. Felt a bit ‘office’ like. When I exited the room there were a set of stairs leading down which looked like it was staff only on the left and on the right it opened through to the store floor.

Thank you, and thanks to the other responses on this. I love a good thrill and adventure, but it sounds like the hunger games. Agree, probably best to stay focused on my home store. I kinda feel like I missed the boat on the Paris approach (3-5 years ago) and now it’s basically impossible. Hope springs eternal.

Just keep in mind having an appt does not guarantee the bag of your choice. I probably feel different than others but if it's not a strain on your life to do it, it doesn't hurt.

I've applied twice before, didn't get it, when I had the opportunity(clear schedule, cheap flights) and I'll do it again when able. But I do it knowing there's still a chance of not getting what I wanted. I'm okay with that though. It's no hardship on my life and I'll happily take any chance I get to spend time in Paris.

I agree. It’s a lot of mental stress if your goal is to get offered a bag but if you’re just having fun then go for it! Even my bf suggested we apply (we live in the US) then just book a flight if we get an appointment. And imagine I told him no bc it’s too much trouble  Blocking my blessings haha

Does getting a constance to go wallet at one of the Paris stores impact chances of getting appt and/or subsequently a QB?

I think someone on this thread was prevented from getting a QB based on this, but my memory may be faulty (you can try a search)

IMO it should not impact, since CTG is a wallet, not a bag, but these days who knows

I would personally not make travel plans based on the slim chance of a lottery appt esp if one would be disappointed if they could not obtain either a B or K. JMO.
