I will leave this reminder as a sticky because tthis is often a thread that new members (or new Hermès lovers) post on - hopefully temporarily.

I’ve been trying the past couple of days to register in the appointment lottery off and on from 10:30 - 7:30 while the site is open but keep getting the “due to high demand today…try again tomorrow” message. Wondering if anyone has had success registering? We have been travelling around France (so not in Paris) but would easily get there if successful. I wonder if not being in Paris has something to with it. I’m surprised that even at 10:30 it’s already booked.
Nothing to do with your location. Other members have mentioned this same issue, it is merely a matter of keep trying.

Hi Fellow H Lovers!

Heading to Paris soon...

Does anyone know how many times you can try for an appointment per day? Is it just once a day?

Do all 3 stores require an appointment for a handbag? (I assume yes)

Our hotel is able get us appointments for LV and Dior but not for Chanel and Hermes..has this been everyone elses experience?

TIA!

For H, it’s one appointment per day and applies to all 3 stores.
In regards go CC, you can book it online if the days you are looking for are still available.

Both me and my partner successfully registered when we were still in Austria (first try), before flying to Paris. We tried 3 times and while I was always successful with registering immediately he had issues the first two days (one day in Austria, one day in Paris). He had to try a second and third time to register. The third day he registered successfully on the first attempt.

We got rejections for each attempt and will try the last time tomorrow for Friday.

I will go to FSH tomorrow as I wanted to buy other things and then register again. Some members got an appointment after buying something. But I doubt it’s a sure thing.

I think my reply here may stir things up so I would just put a disclaimer here that the following is my personal experience only:

I was in London and Paris in April and thought to start trying for appointment around 5 days before I arrive in Paris (I can change my Eurostar ticket and go anytime sooner). On first try, it was already shown that “due to high demand today…try again tomorrow”. It was around 5-ish in the afternoon but I couldn't believe they put a quota on registration so I changed my phone and passport details to just "try again". Same message and so I set the alarm to apply right at 10:30am the next day. Same message and I kinda freaked out and tried with all the numbers I have but could not even register for an appointment (no SMS nor email).

Next day was the same and so I called the hotline and was told I was blocked because I used different numbers. I explained that I was doing that to find out if there was a glitch or else. The lady told me to wait for a few days to try again. (P.S. They could see how many times you try, what time, what details you input). But the thing was, I was already blocked the very very first time I tried.

I paused for 3 days (including a weekend) and tried (I was in Paris already). Still failed to even register. I finally went into FSH and asked. The host explained that there was no such thing as blocking a client. He pulled up my profile and could see my application history. He said that I just didn't get an appointment but the application went through. I explained that I didn't even get the SMS code nor any email. And I tried applying in front of him (it was around 2pm) while I still could not receive any SMS nor email. He saw my application right away and said I didn't get it. (when it was only 2pm and the lottery has not even started).
I called hotline again and they repeated that I just had to wait for a few days to try again. I never got through and stopped trying after I left Paris.

Fast forward to October, I tried a few days ago and the same happened. I used my husband's details to apply and he got the SMS code and email right away. He got the rejection email that evening.
I emailed the Maison and was told clients trying too many times could be blocked and asked me to try again.

I basically lost hope. If anyone manages to get unblocked, please let me know.

P.S. I made purchases during the Paris trip and found that my previous purchase history was all gone (I started purchasing in 2013 and last purchase should be in Sep 2018 or Dec 2019) and was told the purchase record would be kept for 2 (or 3 I forgot) years only. So I am basically starting over again after COVID.

Good luck everyone! I still love H very much!

Got our final rejections today after trying a total of 8 times (4x each for me and my partner).

The only observation I had: the earlier you register during the day the earlier your reply comes.

I also went to FSH before applying today. Asked for 5 different items in 4 different departments, but they didn’t have anything I wanted (I won’t compromise in models or colours at this point in my “journey”. E.g. I wanted the Mors scarf ring in gold, but they only had palladium. I wanted the CDC 24 adjustable belt in black GHW; they only had a different type of adjustable belt or the regular CDC buckle). I still thought stocks were good, definitely not empty.

Looking through the FSH store is a feast for the eyes (lots of QBs in various leathers incl 2 Volynka Mini Ks, of course display only). If you really want to buy something as a tourist though you need to be patient or go to your home store/h.com. Waiting at each department all over again simply doesn’t feel luxurious at all.

Hello, I wanted to share my experience for those not necessarily aiming to get a QB but interested in other bags. I was in Paris in July and visited the Sèvres store, I connected with a great SA who helped me with some jewelry and scarves. I indicated to her that I was interested in a mini Evelyn and other non QB. She indicated that when I returned, she could get it approved even if I did not have a leather appointment. Fast forward to last Saturday, I had scheduled an appointment with my SA as soon as I landed in Paris. I purchased a couple of scarves and I was able to purchase an Evelyne and GP. I was interested in purchasing some shoes, but my size was sold out. I mentioned my interest for a QB in the near future but she indicated that the lottery system was the only way to secure an appointment with the leather desk. I speak French fluently so it may have helped in the relationship building department.

Hi all,

I am a bit confused, reading through the messages here. At FSH, are leather (for bags) appointments available by the lottery system only? Or, do some people get a walk-in appointment by going to FSH and approaching the leather desk when it is less busy and asking for an appointment? Does buying something in another department, then asking the SA if there are any appointments available in the leather department also work?

Many thanks in advance!

The company line is that being granted a leather appointment via the lottery system is the only way possible to acquire a bag at FSH. However, experience of clients tells us that, though perhaps less likely, it is still possible to charm and/or purchase your way into one of these appointments if the stars align.

It seems like the experiences are different for everyone. In general, lottery is currently the only official way to obtain a QB as a new client. If you get a lottery appt, prespend is not required. You simply need an SA who wants to give you the bag you want.

Some people are lucky and get an appt as a walk in; some people are lucky when they buy something, another SA will try to get them an appt, but many are not successful. That is why conventional wisdom is to prespend at your home boutique to get a QB.

If you happen to get an SA who is willing to help you in the future, some people say you stilll need a leather appt. But, others have the opposite experience. If an H SA in Paris would like to offer you a bag, a way will be found despite various rules re appts and limits. So, the answer to all of your questions is that it depends.

Thank you! It remains, as ever, complicated. :P
