Hi all,

I am a bit confused, reading through the messages here. At FSH, are leather (for bags) appointments available by the lottery system only? Or, do some people get a walk-in appointment by going to FSH and approaching the leather desk when it is less busy and asking for an appointment? Does buying something in another department, then asking the SA if there are any appointments available in the leather department also work?

Many thanks in advance!

There are no definite rules with H. Some people who already have their SAs (from previous purchases) don’t need an online appointment, especially VIP.
Those who don’t, it all depends on the online lottery, and if you manage to get one, then it depends on the mood of your assigned SA whether they want to sell any bag to you or not. Yes I said mood, because people have shared their experiences that some SAs are happy & warm, and some are just cold and don’t-bother-me-I-hate-my-job attitude

I think my reply here may stir things up so I would just put a disclaimer here that the following is my personal experience only:

I was in London and Paris in April and thought to start trying for appointment around 5 days before I arrive in Paris (I can change my Eurostar ticket and go anytime sooner). On first try, it was already shown that “due to high demand today…try again tomorrow”. It was around 5-ish in the afternoon but I couldn't believe they put a quota on registration so I changed my phone and passport details to just "try again". Same message and so I set the alarm to apply right at 10:30am the next day. Same message and I kinda freaked out and tried with all the numbers I have but could not even register for an appointment (no SMS nor email).

Next day was the same and so I called the hotline and was told I was blocked because I used different numbers. I explained that I was doing that to find out if there was a glitch or else. The lady told me to wait for a few days to try again. (P.S. They could see how many times you try, what time, what details you input). But the thing was, I was already blocked the very very first time I tried.

I paused for 3 days (including a weekend) and tried (I was in Paris already). Still failed to even register. I finally went into FSH and asked. The host explained that there was no such thing as blocking a client. He pulled up my profile and could see my application history. He said that I just didn't get an appointment but the application went through. I explained that I didn't even get the SMS code nor any email. And I tried applying in front of him (it was around 2pm) while I still could not receive any SMS nor email. He saw my application right away and said I didn't get it. (when it was only 2pm and the lottery has not even started).
I called hotline again and they repeated that I just had to wait for a few days to try again. I never got through and stopped trying after I left Paris.

Fast forward to October, I tried a few days ago and the same happened. I used my husband's details to apply and he got the SMS code and email right away. He got the rejection email that evening.
I emailed the Maison and was told clients trying too many times could be blocked and asked me to try again.

I basically lost hope. If anyone manages to get unblocked, please let me know.

P.S. I made purchases during the Paris trip and found that my previous purchase history was all gone (I started purchasing in 2013 and last purchase should be in Sep 2018 or Dec 2019) and was told the purchase record would be kept for 2 (or 3 I forgot) years only. So I am basically starting over again after COVID.

Good luck everyone! I still love H very much!
It may be a setting on your phone service. Recently, AT&T did some sort of update that opted me out of receiving certain messages. This is a problem because most apps and cc send authorizations by text and I wasn't receiving them anymore. When I called the company they saw immediately what the problem was and updated my settings. So try calling your cell service.

Thanks very much for your advice!

I don't think it's about the phone though as I used three different SIM cards in different countries (London, Paris in April and Vancouver last week) and all went to the "due to..." page immediately.

And I tried with my husband's details right after I got that message and his request went through (going to the page when they asked you to check your email to confirm the request).

And I receive authorisation codes from different banks instantly with all 3 SIM.
But again thanks very much for giving your insight and trying to help!!!!! Appreciate it!

Really long post!

Just thought I’d share my first experience with the Paris stores here! My sister and I tried to apply for leather appts everyday while we were in Paris so 5 days, 2 passports. No luck at the lottery system. We tried to get a walk in appt at FSH the day we arrived but it was a zoo in there. Having been quite spoiled by my SA at my home store, this was not what I was expecting from the flagship store. I actually can’t even begin to describe what it felt like in there. It felt like a best buy on black friday. I also felt quite sorry for the leather appt manager because he was bombarded every 5 seconds and some clients actually got angry for being denied a walk in appt. I was supposed to look at RTW for my husband, some shoes for me and slg’s for my sister but I couldn’t handle the wait so we called it a day. Before leaving, we feasted our eyes on the many display bags that lined the glass cases at FSH! It was my first time seeing a Kelly Doll and Picnic Kelly in the flesh (both I consider my unicorn bags) and I was ecstatic. I took pics and zoomed in on the 3 words Hermes lovers seem to hate the most… for display only  and sent them to my husband. The next day was full of activities for us so we didn’t try for a walk in appt in the morning but we decided to stop by Sevres store around 5pm since we were close by. First approach towards the leather appt manager and I was met with the dreaded Sorry Madame.. we are fully booked. My sister and I stayed around anyway and enjoyed the design of the Sevres store. Out of all the stores this was my favorite. It is light and even though it was busy, the atmosphere was good. I looked around and saw some RTW and shoes my husband would like that my SA back home couldn’t find in his size and decided to put our name on the queue to be helped. We were told by the same leather appt manager that it’s about a 45 minute wait for an SA to be available and I said it’s fine we can wait. We were ushered to sit near the men’s shoes area but I again decided to walk around and look at the display bags. WHAT A TEASE! 45 minutes became an hour, we were offered drinks and the manager was apologetic for the wait. He told us someone will be with us shortly. He rounded on us again after 15 mins and found us still browsing with no SA. He was once again apologetic and took off to find someone to help us. Eventually an SA came to help us and asked what we needed. Luckily the shoes and RTW my husband liked were available in his size and before he left to pack up what we wanted to buy he asked if there was anything else I was interested in. I said I tried to ask for a leather appointment earlier but none were available so I will see if I get lucky with the lottery for tomorrow. Then he asked what are you specifically looking for Madame? And I nearly lost it at this point. I couldn’t tell if I was about to be granted a walk in right before they closed. I tried not to look too eager and thought to myself it’s towards the end of the day and there’s probably “no stock”. I was honest and told
him I was looking for a neutral Constance or picotin and that I love their muted shades of blue. Bleu pale, bleu nuit or bleu saphir. Then he asked what hardware did I prefer and I can’t believe I wasn’t too stunned to speak at this point. I said silver. Then he said, let me see what I can do for you. I couldn’t believe it but he came back with 2 boxes and ushered us in to a small fitting room. The first box was a beautiful noir Constance 18 in swift and the second box was a picotin 18 in their new shade of blue.. Caban. Pico in silver hardware. Constance in gold hardware. I was told I could get both! I asked if they had any Constance in a more durable leather. He said no and told me I was lucky they had bags left at the end of the day! I passed on the Constance because I am not ready for swift leather and I have 2 toddlers whose hands are always on me or my bags. I also know my SA back home would make my Constance dreams come true and there was no rush or a need to “settle” on a bag just because it was offered. I took the picotin and I am obsessed with the dark navy blue!! It is also a chameleon and looks black in different lighting. I would agree with the few posts on this thread that mentions it’s easier to obtain the bags you want from your home store/SA. the luck of the draw in Paris is intense!!

Congrats!! Thanks for sharing your story. What a beauty!! I also appreciate you for not taking the constance. That gives someone behind you the chance to get a bag they love

Admittedly I got stuck on fsh being a zoo and like Best Buy on Black Friday  Whew the thought!

Did your sister get anything?

Thank you!!! It was so busy!!! I wanted a pair of boots but when I inquired, the SA in charge of putting people in queue said it was more than an hour wait and all the seats were occupied! I wanted to like the Constance and take it home with me so badly  but my lifestyle does not allow for it at the moment and I hate it when bags sit in a closet! I baby my kids, not my bags! lol

My sister didn’t get anything! She is a Chanel fan but was helping me better my chances for an appt. Luckily her Rue Cambon SA got us appts for the week so no wait there. Chanel also had a two or more hour wait without an appt

Same at the bolded lol. You did right not getting something that you didn’t love!

When we go I plan on going to Chanel, too! I like both H and C so I need to get ready and will keep your post in mind!
