I will leave this reminder as a sticky because tthis is often a thread that new members (or new Hermès lovers) post on - hopefully temporarily.

I remember early 2021 at FSH, I asked an SA for bags (can't remember if it was with appointment or walk-in though). We sat down, she directly asked about me and what I wanted. Then looked at her phone to check my info (which they don't always do) and said pretty loudly "oh you buy a lot online!!":whut: She made it sound like it was a bad thing! So I immediately replied "well yes, when what you look for is not in store or since you need an appointment! I guess that's why Hermès has an online store: so people can buy and buy a lot if they want?!" I couldn't believe an SA would say something like that with such a condescending attitude! Aaaaand of course she had no bag to offer that day! It was the shortest encounter I had with an SA at Hermès.

Sorry everyone I am here to share a not particularly pleasant appointment experience...:(

I can't believe that such an unprofessional and discriminatory sale can exist in the leather department of a brand like Hermes. I was at the FSH slot this morning around 12pm.

I am a relatively loyal customer of Hermes. Although not a top vip, I consider myself to be a timely supporter of Hermes for every new release, across all categories. So when I got the leather appointment for today's Paris head office on June 9, 2022, I was actually very surprised. And it was with this rather happy feeling that I arrived early at the shop before my appointment time of 12:10pm.

After a long wait of almost 2 hours, my friend and I were greeted by a middle-aged blonde and white woman with white skin and slightly dried hair. She then asked for my wishlist and without looking at the phone's stock or ever going into the warehouse to confirm, the lady simply told us it was not available. Then I asked if MiniLindy would be ok. She said she would check and followed up with a purple and green Garden Party and a black and white herbag and told us not to ask for anything else but these two. To be honest, I tried to communicate, I said I was really going back to China next month and it was hard to get another appointment, could I see if there were other options. The lady stood and kept looking at her phone, didn't take us seriously and said in a contemptuous tone, "No one can go to China." (The subtext was that we were lying and not really going back) The fact is that I am only a one year UK Master student and it is not uncommon for me as a Chinese national to buy a return ticket to my home country to graduate the following month. At the time we tried to ask if there were any bag charms we could look at and she said categorically no. No matter what we asked for, she said dismissively and condescendingly that there were none. I felt quite aggrieved at the time. I wanted to cry a bit and my tears were a bit uncontrollable. She rolled her eyes and said loudly, in a contemptuous raised tone, "Just for a bag? Is that necessary? As for that?" I can't believe these words are coming from a Hermes salesperson. If a Hermes salesperson doesn't have a sufficient sense of conviction and love for her brand, she will never understand how much of an insult she is to the brand as a result of her poor and uncouth service attitude!

I am just a Hermes lover, I love Hermes tableware, I love Hermes clothes and I love Hermes hats. But I am at this moment just feeling disappointed that I was offered this reservation like a lottery ticket but with such an unprofessional and dismissive and disrespectful female salesperson. She showed her extremely unprofessional attitude towards service as a racist. She may have thought I was only crying over a bag, but I would say I was only crying over the arrogance of her attitude on behalf of the Hermes brand and the disrespect.

Seriously, inside the two hours of waiting for service. We saw someone get a Birkin 30, someone get a Picotin 18, someone get a Kelly 28. but never a sale, no stock check, no respect for my wishes, trampling on my wishes with her arrogance and discrimination and prejudice. She was also behind us while serving us, responding to other guests' queries as well as assisting with enquiries. All the while impatiently asking us to hurry up and make the next appointment for appointments and hurry up and finish your shopping.

I didn't buy anything because an arrogant and disrespectful brand sale was not worth a penny of my money. I would never cry over a bag, I'm just ashamed that Hermes has such disrespectful and rude, racist salesmen with bad character and bad attitudes.
she might think you are just one of those mules ?:sleepy:

her attitude is disgusting. You should report it to the store director (he works at FSH store) or corporate.

That's beyond unacceptable. Sad to say I've had a similar experience once, also at FSH. The irony of it all is that the SA was the same ethnicity as myself (we have the same last name!), so I was hoping that we would connect on a more personal level. I tried to have a small chat with her but she just ignored my question and say, "what do you want?"...I was taken back by a little, then proceed to give her my wishlist. She said be right back, waited 20 minutes for her to come back, then she told me no B/K not even a picotin 18. Then I asked for a rodeo or scarf, she told me to go find another SA to help me with those items as they don't require leather appointment. Also the whole time I was talking I felt that she was sizing me up and down as if I'm not worthy to shop there, utterly bizarre and humiliating, as if she can't stand spending even second with me. :annoyed::confused1:

I really hope you get another appointment or just try walk-in one more time, get a different SA and you may have a much better experience. Sorry that happened to you.

this kind of attitude is disgusting. Maybe your SA thought she could say/do anything she wanted since she worked for Hermes. At the end of the day, you’re the client and she was just the SA!

Do you think she could see your purchases in your local H too?

Hey everyone! Long time lurker - I'm finally heading to Paris in a few weeks post COVID to try my luck at getting a leather appointment. I have some questions though.

Does only the FSH location take leather appointments online via the lottery?
How would one try to get an appointment at the other Paris locations?
Do you need an appointment for belts / shoes / SLGs? (I don't know how specific "leather appointments" are since everything is leather lol)

Thanks for your help!

All leather appts at the Paris H stores are made via the online system where you can select any of the 3 stores or choose a specific store. Only handbags require a leather appt. For all other items including belts, shoes and SLGs, you can walk in and inquire with an SA to assist. Good luck and have fun in Paris.

Heading to Paris for the first time since 2018. Unfortunately did not have a good experience last time ( in fact it was actually quite bad) so my hopes are not high. But of course I am hoping for something off my wishlist like Plume 40 or B35. I don’t have an SO and I often travel alone so it’s discouraging to hear that solo clients don’t seem to be served well. I have a purchase hx in France but distant(2018). Any tips ( if I am able to get an appointment by lottery? I only ask bc I rarely see people who are alone commenting about their experience. Fortunately I have a great SA/SM here but of course am hoping to bring home a H souvenir from Paris…

For Plume 40, or any non BKC bags, they shouldn’t be hard to get, especially if you’re after the bigger sizes (well, and they need to have them in stock of course, but I don’t think they will say no if they do have them, unlike BKCs or the mini bags). There are stories of people being able to get non-popular bags even without a leather appointment. B35, on the other hand, though not as popular as the smaller sizes, is still a Birkin, so difficult and most definitely requires an appointment, but you can always ask I guess :)
