Hi everyone,
I just scored a Birkin 30 togo black leather at one of the Paris boutiques!
But I don't think I am 100% happy because after I came back to hotel, tried it in front of the mirror, then it looked huge on me...
Can I exchange it in any of the Paris boutiques? If so, should I make another leather reservation? (ahh it was so hard) Anyone has an experience?
I am staying 3 more weeks so got times.
Or should I try at NY boutiques when I go back?

Thank you!

I had an interesting experience last week:

Long story short, I got an appointment, I did buy some small items and also ordered some things not available to be shipped to store (total spend ~3k), but they did not have any BKC that day. SA told me when I come back to pick up my ordered items he would check bags for me again then; ended up going back 3 days in a row and he helped me check every day but still no BKC. Is this normal? Should I have purchased more items every day when I went back to check?

I have ~10k prior spend across 3 paris stores including a B so not that much non-BKC spend.

Stock is low, undoubtedly, but, I don't believe for a split second that there aren't any quota bags available in Paris.

Agreed. There were times when the SA flat out told me she hasn't seen a quota bags in weeks, yet my friend literally got offered a B35 on the same day when the SA gave me that BS. lol...But also depends on how selective you are with the size and other spec, I'm sure there are always at least 3-5 quote bags sitting in the backroom everyday, just may not be in the right size/color you're looking for. If you found a SA who seems sweet and eager to help, doesn't hurt to ask for their contact if you plan on staying in Paris for several more days and he/she can text you if your bag becomes available before you leave.

Hee hee, I agree. I have even seen some 'display only' item being taken out to be wrapped up (for other shoppers). So, seems like there are things that they choose to sell to others.
I literally got a 'I have not seen this item for a few weeks'....AFTER seeing some other SA open the box to show their customer that same rare SLG. haha
It can be amusing to hear how they respond and I am glad I have been on both side of that fence when my favorite SA was still working there..she used to offer me things she told others that are not available but that SA left and moved away...so, now, i'm back on this side of the fence LOL.

That’s what I thought, which is why I was confused that I was invited back to try for BKC again after initial “no bags today” response—I thought if no bags, that would be the end of that. However they checked for me 3x after that (who knows how hard they tried though). Should I have purchased more items when I went back the following days?

Honestly, my SA at FSH told me previously that they always have some stock of quota bags. The amount can vary, but there is always some. So if you were requesting specific bags as to size, color, leather etc yes, it could be true that there weren't any. But no BKC at all for three days no I do not believe that could be true. Perhaps your SA did expect you to keep spending each day you returned. Shouldn't this all become a little offensive to us? If I had not lucked into a regular SA I could not put myself through this treatment.

True. In my personal experience, "low stock" usually means: "I have something in the back but I am not offering it to you" or "If there is something coming in soon, it will not be offered to you". Sometimes, purchasing more and being patient changes the situation for the better. But sometimes too..a change of SA is the only solution. Purchasing is easier. But purchasing from an SA you don't have a rapport with usually ends up in disappointment. So it is best to make sure of that before you make purchases from that SA..especially very big ones.

It is indeed very frustrating…. Should I keep spending at FSH and hope one day they will give me a quota bag? Cuz it seems even if I wait for an appointment, they can just not give away BKC easily now.
(PS - i did want to just focus on my home boutique but mine doesn’t sell exotic and stock is limited in that shop, SA did recommend me to try build a profile in Paris)

Agreed there is no way I’d let someone lie to my face then at some point get my money. This is insulting behavior to be honest and would turn me off from the brand completely. Yes I like Hermes but one should have some pride and should read between the lines, I would not put myself through that for a bag no matter how well it’s made. It’s quite frankly embarrassing begging behavior.

Honestly I think it’s just random what they say to various people. What days were you there last week? If you read my earlier story that I posted, I was there last Wednesday and got a k25 and was shown a k28 as well and the SA gave me a list of the other k25s in stock that day (there was quite a few). My previous spend a FSH was less than $5k.

My friend scored an appointment last Friday and also got a quota bag from FSH with no previous spend.

I’m so sorry you weren’t able to score a bag this trip

Scored an appointment for Monday at 5.40pm, FSH...any things a first timer should know?? Please help!!
Just be polite, honest about what you wish to purchase and behave as you would in any luxury store.
You are a customer going in with the intention of spending money-Hermes FSH is a shop.
remember that.. and good luck.
