I arrived in Paris, this morning from the US. Let me say I have no history in Paris. I have an Evelyne and a K35 which I have bought preloved. I have a couple of belts and scarves and perfume all bought online as I don’t have a store in my state. I applied yesterday for an appointment for today on both my husband and my passport. Both declined yesterday evening. As we landed this morning we applied again. We are staying in the Sofihotel on Faubourg. As the driver approached the hotel my husband pointed out the store at the end of the street. It was quiet at 10:40 am. We check in and we quickly freshen up. I ask him if I should see if they have any cancellations we are here for 3 nights before going to Ireland and then coming back for another 3 nights before heading home.
I go inside and I ask about the process and there is a lady whom is not pleasant. I ask if I can see if there are any cancellations. She directs me to the leather section and I meet this young lady and ask her. She asks me what I would be looking for and I say a Constance. She speaks with this other lady and they both approach me and the lady starts to speak me. I tell her I would like a Constance and she tells me she has a few and to follow her. She takes myself and my husband upstairs and we sit and chat. She’s super friendly and asks us about ourselves. We are originally from Ireland living in US 10 years. Then she said what colors & leathers I would like. Then she said would I wish for anything else? I said I would love a birkin 25 or 30 but I know I can only dream and I know there is probably nothing available. She asks colors I would prefer I say gold would be my dream then black.

She says ok let me see what we have. She takes us upstairs to a quiet part of the store. She has two boxes. The first is a Constance in a light blue grey color. It’s pretty but I’m curious about the other box. She tells me to close my eyes and when I look it’s a B25 in Gold clemence leather with gold hardware. I’m jet lagged and shocked still. I will post a photo when I get back to open it. There are purses available! I guess I was just extremely lucky. Excuse any bad grammar or spelling I’m seriously tired!

What a great story! I will be traveling to Paris in about 4 weeks and am hoping to get a dream bag. Your story gives me hope. Enjoy your new baby. She's beautiful!

Me and my husband are planning a trip to Paris for November. it seemed like a great time to get into all the museums without the long waits. I have only gotten a bag once at FSH (an Evelyne). It was either bought with my husbands passport or mine. Does anyone have any ideas about how much inventory the stores have during that time of year? More importantly, what the likelihood of an appointment would be that time of year. Lastly, when it's not crowded do they accept walkins for bags?

Completely unrelated info. Because of the pandemic, don’t just walk up to anything and expect you’ll be let in shortly. I was there earlier this month. For museums, you need to reserve for a timed entry online. We went to the Louvre at a reserved time slot, but the line for walk-ins was horrendous.

Also don’t forget to apply for the French Health Pass before you go.

Hi, do you know if I will need to apply for a French Health Pass now if I'm entering France from the US in early September? All websites I've checked only says that US travelers should apply for it if they're traveling to France between now and August 30th, but there's no info on what to do if we're traveling after August 30th. :hrmm:

I have a vaccination card so is that enough to enter Hermes?

I don’t know again my husband was looking at pricing he wears glasses too! I really didn’t look at any pricing.I was actually surprised the price of the bag I got I was expecting it to be a lot higher I think my husband was too. It’s not like you go in and tell the SA your budget and have them work around that.

We applied for the French government health passport before we left the US.We still haven’t received it yet! We fly to Ireland tomorrow maybe we will have it on our way back to France. We were ok showing a photo of our CDC vaccination card. I think the restaurants and shops know they are quite slow getting them out to the US tourists
We showed our photo of CDC card at Hermes

I am traveling to Paris in mid-September and my understanding is that we will still have to have the health pass. The French site has been updating the dates every time I look. I think they just don't want to be inundated with emails for people who won't be traveling for a few weeks.

Just came back from Paris and made a stop at Hermès at St. Honoré. It was busy, but I was greeted right away and directed to an associate who was able to help immediately. When I went there two days ago there was no Heath Pass requirement.

If you don't get a response from the French govt. for the Health Pass, just go to any pharmacy and take a rapid COVID test. They will email or text you an EU Digital Covid Certificate that can serve as the Health Pass for several days.

Everything you need to know about the Health Pass / COVID certificate can be found here. Like tinkerbell said, they are probably trying to handle the influx of requests, most likely manually.

The Health Pass is for you to enter venues and restaurants, and is not a requirement for entering the country, at least for now. I read that stores/restaurants are fined if they’re caught letting people in without verifying the pass, which may deter smaller stores from accepting foreign proof of vaccination (like the CDC card). While people may confirm that Hermes is accepting CDC cards today, things may and can change tomorrow.

OT but THANK YOU very much @mcmug17 for this info & the link. I am not immediately planning a trip to Paris but this type of info is extremely valuable to have bookmarked.

Hi everyone, newbie here but just wanted to share my shopping experience in Paris (Aug 18, noon) After several failed attempts with the online appointment system, I decided to give up on the thought of purchasing a bag. So on the last day of my 5 day trip, which was a Thursday, I went to the George V store to buy a belt and sandals for my brother and sister-in-law. The wonderful Luca( sorry, probably spelled incorrectly) was my SA for that day. Before paying for the items, we chatted for a bit and I told her how many times I failed with the appointment system and she said indeed, it’s a more complicated process now. She was well aware that I didn’t have any purchase history but she was so nice to ask, probably the manager, if there was any appointment cancellation. The first time she called, she was told that there was none. She felt very sorry but I told her I completely understand and thanked her for asking. Then, after a few minutes, I’m not sure what made her do it but she called the manager again and low and behold, she told me that there was suddenly an availability. Omg you don’t know how shocked and excited I was. She then asked me to go to another room and discussed my bag preferences. I told her obviously that I wanted a B or K or C in a neutral color. Right off the bat, she told me it will be difficult to get a B25 and that didn’t surprise me. I told her I would like a Constance 18 or Kelly 28 if available. After 10 nerve wracking minutes, she came back with a box and a smile and omg I knew she had something special in hand. She offered me a Constance 18 in Noir Veau Monsieur with a special mirror buckle (photo attached) that I haven’t seen anywhere or anyone, ever. Could it be a new edition style? I didn’t even ask since I was in cloud nine. I told her how happy I was with my first Hermes bag and thanked her over and over. Needless to say, I made the purchase. Luca said I was very nice that’s why she offered me a bag but idk what I did to deserve it, I guess it was my lucky day! It was the best end to my fabulous trip to Paris.

I was told that that it would be the consulate that should be doing the conversion. When started implementing the health pass on 9th, there is no problem going to the museums, restaurants, and chateaux by showing just the US CDC card.

Good luck.
