I will leave this reminder as a sticky because tthis is often a thread that new members (or new Hermès lovers) post on - hopefully temporarily.

‘ I thought July would be a good month as they would have to stock up B/K/C for august cos they still need to have some bags even in August right?’— nah all they care is the overall revenue from the whole store instead of how many popular B/K/C they should prepare for walk in, one off customers in August. And it is possible that items have been reserved for August but they won’t arrive the stores until daily in August. I suggest you to read the whole thread so that you understand the way bags being delivered to FSH. If we are talking about reserve for super VVIPs, I take that the shop either have customed their lists before their trips through the relationship SA or if they are the first time buyers they can always travel back another time with the private jet or just buy locally at home country?

In fact it must be due to the last financial crisis and also the public image, that FSH starts to sell quota bags to customers who potentially only want a Noir Birkin but nothin else. Otherwise the market share will be enlarged by the rivals, so H realised there is a market they could have won and in order not to push them to the rivals, to start with a smarter purchase process of not requiring unfront XYZ amount of shopping will generate more money for H?

Quota bags actually generated less profits than RTW or jewelries. That’s why big purchase of jewelry some times help people to score appointments or even a bag! Sometimes even with jewelry purchase one can be declined for quota bags. But then H is winning if one buy only jewelry anyway— more profitable items, the more the merrier, isn’t it? Worse come to worse it’s the SA’s time being wasted if one pretend to buy jewelry but only interests in a quota bag and being told off in the end.

Thank you so much for sharing. I just found it odd that the successful stories in June is so little. Not sure if they worried about the yellow vast hence actually reduce the quota bags production for Paris this year, and only giving appointments on 5th or 6th trial was unheard of ( not that common any way.) I thought most bag an appointment on their 3rd or 4th trial last summer.

Hi, did you mean you and your DH received appointments two times per head last Sep? So does it mean it’s possible to receive more than one appointment in a month if you haven’t purchase any quota bag at your first appointment?

According to many members who had the successful stories here, my SA in Dec must be one of those who had the right to sell a quota bag, and definitely one of those who had sold B/K to loyalty fans here.

——————————

In terms of how selective Hermes can be - hm if they judge customers with manners I can’t really comment as I didn’t change anything from the summer. If they are judging customers with outfits then I would say winter months would be easier for me. I only meant less competition for me in the winter if some people ( not referring to any of you here, in case my wording are confusing.) are trying very hard on this outfit thing. Have to wear more layers in the winter means it gives the SA a better idea of one’s background. But surely resellers are wearing Hermes too. In the summer not all customers are too wealthy to travel without body guards to Paris hence some rather wear sth. won’t draw any attention from pick pockets.

I sort of figure out the sales for me in August was only working there temporarily and most of the case he didn’t even have the authorisation to sell a quota bag. Sales assigned to the appointment is very important too.

In the end of the day it depends on whether it’s a good year or bad year( year of financial crisis etc) for H, they can be very picky for sure but akin to any biz there is always a annual target for their business. Even it sounds FSH was raining of all sorts of bags last winter I witnessed some were complaining not even getting an appointment after many days trying to the receptionist. Some others were trying to make friendly talks to sales from other departments in order to find a friendly one to fit her/ him to an bag appointment.only being declined by the receptionist later. I guessed the SAs were trained to folllow some obvious intention politely even they knew it’s not possible at the beginning.
Hi. No we only received one appointment each. I think to receive two per head on the same trip, one must be either extremely lucky or have a long stay in Paris :-s..It would be great if I can use my LO's passport to apply for an appointment as well though to increase our chances but pretty sure that may be frowned upon, also if they require payment to be made from a card with the same name as the person who received the appointment (which seems to be the case) and that happens to be LO, well she's only 20 months old so that would not work anyway haha..

sorry for the watermark but there are ig accounts that scour these threads and repost pics without permission so posters beware! i’m guessing a birkin with hello kitty is less attractive to repost too. lol.

Gorgeous!! congrats, I have been looking for RGHW, you are so lucky!!! Enjoy!

Yes, I have also been wondering why there are so little success stories between May-June... But you have touched the same topic I was discussing with DH back in april (I got my appointment on the 5th and he didnt even get one on the 6th try), any walk-in tourist would have to actually spend at least 4 days in Paris just to have a chance to get an appointment at FSH (by now, everyone is already applying twice in their home country BEFORE landing in Paris to get 2 apps out of the way). So I wonder, why is NOW appt available on the 5th or 6th attempt versus last year was successful on the 3rd-4th attempt? I wouldn't think is because the # of people applying increased or is it the # of bags available decreased compared to last year? Tho, their financial statements says they have made quite a good profit, im wondering if they are increasing their price but decreasing their volume (which would also yield a "good profit" for the company and of course there is the push of buying clothes, jewelry, shoes etc ).........

I just want to read all the stories whether its with happy purchase or not.... :P

Hi,
If one is looking to buy Evelyne, Garden party or Picotin from FSH, will they need to apply for an appointment online or will they entertain walk in?
Apply online. But ask in store too since some have said they were able to get an appointment on spot when they said they were not after a birkin or kelly. It might work especially if you can tell them you hAve applied x days online. Good luck.

All bags need an appointment for FSH.

I hope this is OK, but my son is in Paris for just a few days and I don't have time to go back and read all the messages. I was hoping he could bring me home a treat from Paris Hermes, but does he need an appointment for the accessories or only the bags?

I guess I should also ask: are enamels and silks generally less expensive to purchase in France than the US, or are they basically the same? Are there items that are exclusive to Paris? My son is a college student (but a lover of luxury goods) so I have to be pretty specific on what I ask him to buy and I don't have much time!

Only leather bags need to have appointments, the rest is open for walk-ins, think of shoes, clothes, small leather accessories like wallets/belts etc, jewelry, houseware etc do NOT need appointments, just walk in directly to the area of the things you want and ask a SA to help you. hope this helps you! @jaschultze
