I will leave this reminder as a sticky because tthis is often a thread that new members (or new Hermès lovers) post on - hopefully temporarily.

I was always told stock was lowest in July and August and with 3 out of my 4 SAs going on leave then, there are also fewer appointments available at FSH. Added together this means a lower chance of finding the exact bag of one’s dreams.
I agree. Stock in September is usually still quite low as well due to the artisans being on holiday for most of August.

I was in Paris at the start of my trip last year (early Sept) and again at the end (late Sept), DH and I each received an appointment at FSH on different days ( we both applied for an appointment each day we were in Paris so from memory we must have tried at least 8x in total) but were told no B/K both times. The store was always busy and I did observe others around me, only some Lindys and Picotin were shown. I was, however, offered a C24 in ostrich that apparently was on display which I passed on because I was only looking for B/K.

I would say it comes with luck scoring B/ K in Paris around July August. They would definitely have stock. Based on my own experience, it just less options and more challenging in getting what we want. As Hermes would be more selective in selling to which customer whose buying B/K

I think it's more relevant to first time customers or those without as long a purchase history as yours. But you know what I mean. :flowers:

I had a similar experience in early September and came out of it with a Picotin. Going back to Paris in July during Bastille Day and expecting a similar effort as the 2 trips/20+ registrations/5 appointments it took last September and this winter to get my BF B30. But hey, I’m nothing if not persistent, and Paris is always a good idea!

Hi, did you mean you and your DH received appointments two times per head last Sep? So does it mean it’s possible to receive more than one appointment in a month if you haven’t purchase any quota bag at your first appointment?

According to many members who had the successful stories here, my SA in Dec must be one of those who had the right to sell a quota bag, and definitely one of those who had sold B/K to loyalty fans here.

——————————

In terms of how selective Hermes can be - hm if they judge customers with manners I can’t really comment as I didn’t change anything from the summer. If they are judging customers with outfits then I would say winter months would be easier for me. I only meant less competition for me in the winter if some people ( not referring to any of you here, in case my wording are confusing.) are trying very hard on this outfit thing. Have to wear more layers in the winter means it gives the SA a better idea of one’s background. But surely resellers are wearing Hermes too. In the summer not all customers are too wealthy to travel without body guards to Paris hence some rather wear sth. won’t draw any attention from pick pockets.

I sort of figure out the sales for me in August was only working there temporarily and most of the case he didn’t even have the authorisation to sell a quota bag. Sales assigned to the appointment is very important too.

In the end of the day it depends on whether it’s a good year or bad year( year of financial crisis etc) for H, they can be very picky for sure but akin to any biz there is always a annual target for their business. Even it sounds FSH was raining of all sorts of bags last winter I witnessed some were complaining not even getting an appointment after many days trying to the receptionist. Some others were trying to make friendly talks to sales from other departments in order to find a friendly one to fit her/ him to an bag appointment.only being declined by the receptionist later. I guessed the SAs were trained to folllow some obvious intention politely even they knew it’s not possible at the beginning.

I am going to Paris next month mid July. I knew August is the worst month as the artisans are going for holiday but did not know July is a bad month as well. I thought July would be a good month as they would have to stock up B/K/C for august cos they still need to have some bags even in August right?
But seeing the comments here that makes me second guess my decision. Should I reschedule my visit?

Anyone has any experience of scoring/ not scoring a bag in July?

Just to add my experience before going into my most recent visit, I got my first Kelly at the beginning of August in 2016 so it is possible.

Anyways onto my recent Paris trip a couple weeks ago. I had emailed a couple SA's I worked with before but none were able to give me an appointment. While I have a bit of purchase history, I am not anywhere near VIP level (I don't buy RTW or jewellery) so I understand. After reading everyone's experiences and advice from friends I decided to start applying for appointments 2 days ahead for my DH and 1 day in advance for myself since we didn't have as many chances as I thought since the Monday was a holiday. My DH ended up getting an appointment for the Saturday and it was his 5th attempt, he has no purchase history. I want to strongly stress that purchase history has NOTHING to do with getting appointments. I had purchase history and was only able to get an appointment on my 6th attempt which sadly I wasn't able to attend because we had to leave that day and I didn't have time to go to FSH before my flight.

In any case when it came time for my DH's appointment we met with our SA and she asked if we preferred French or English and since I speak French my DH said ok in French and that was the end of his interaction for the appointment. I think he preferred it that way, lol. He's supportive but is not into memorizing preferences and talking a lot. Anyways she mentioned that she might have her manager drop in on the appointment and that's when I noticed that her manager was the SA who sold me my B30 a year and a half ago so I was hoping that would be a good sign. That's when I inferred that she is a new SA, she also would refer to a notebook when I asked about prices and if kelly pochette or cut were quota bags (they are not).

Right away I let her know that I had purchase history and that's when she asked for my passport to look up my profile. I told her my preference went like this: K28 and then B25. Priority was GHW or RGHW (all my bags are PHW), open to any colours but prefer neutrals like Noir, Gris Asphalt etc... She said RGHW is hard to get and more limited so I said no worries, would love gold in any case. She went away for about 20 minutes (I timed haha) and came back empty handed (heart drop) but immediately said please follow me (yay) and we went into a private room. She said no K28 but something from my second choice, B25! I was already pretty excited by this point but then she said she found me a RGHW Noir B25!!! I almost died, I was so happy! I picked up also a pair of sandals, a twilly and that was it! Her manager (my previous SA) dropped in when we were looking at shoes and I asked if she remembered me and she said yes. So I'm wondering if that connection helped since she is a new SA I'm guessing she needs approval to offer a bag. When I asked for her card she didn't even have one and she wrote her name down on a generic blank H card.

So again I don't think purchase history helps with getting an appointment but I do think it helps once in the appointment. I visited both Sevres and Georges V and found both boutiques very busy, I didn't ask for bags though since I had heard you needed to make an appointment and I didn't want to waste time asking. Plus I already got a bag.

Pic to follow!

I was in Paris 2nd week of June 2019. Tried to get an appointment at FSH for 4 days but was rejected on all tries (2 passports, so 8 attempts in total). First, I went to Sevres, met a lovely SA from RTW, bought 2 items. I was told that an appointment was needed at Sevres for leather goods. She tried to help me but I was told the store did not have what I was looking for (a mini Kelly). Nevertheless I enjoyed shopping at the beautiful store and customer service was excellent. She gave me her card and said I could email her before my next visit. Compared to FSH, Sevres was not crowded. I saw a lady being offered a Lindy.

I managed to find an hour in my itinerary to go to FSH at 5pm. The store was super crowded. I have a purchase history at FSH, albeit a short one, but the SA who helped me the last time was away. I was served by another SA from RTW and bought 1 item. She tried to help me check if there is an appointment at the leather department, but it was pretty late in the evening and there was none. Having followed this thread, I knew what to expect and was not disappointed.

Here she is celebrating with my NBA Champions Toronto Raptor Kitty! haha.

sorry for the watermark but there are ig accounts that scour these threads and repost pics without permission so posters beware! i’m guessing a birkin with hello kitty is less attractive to repost too. lol.
Congrats! Such a gem.
