Sorry if this has been mentioned but if you receive an appointment and end up not being able to make it that day are you able to cancel it and reapply for another day? Or will you somehow be blacklisted for registering again?

You cannot cancel appt online. Maybe you could call them to cancel it. I don’t recommend you to apply for the date that you are not sure that you can make it or not though. After you secure an appt, it’s very hard to get the other one in short days. I remember a tpfer got a bag for her sister. Unfortunately, her sis didn’t like it. For a month, she tried every day to get another appointment in order to do exchange and didn’t have luck... In their system, maybe they set up you could have another appointment in x months after you get one?

I've tried 4 times before getting an appointment.

Decided to try for an appointment even though I'm reaching Paris in the afternoon. No appointment.

Wednesday, 23 May 2018

Used hubby passport as well. No appointment for both of us. By now, I wasn't sure if I'm able to get any appointment.

Thursday, 24 May 2018

As usual, no appointment for both of us. I was feeling anxious and kept asking hubby, what next? What if we didn't get any appointment the next day?
Friday, 25 May 2018
Our last attempt. And I've honestly lost all hopes of getting any appointment. BUT, when the email came with an appointment the next day at 10.30am, I couldn't believe my eyes! I got hubby to read the email as well and he say, ya, you've got an appointment at 10.30am! Hubby tried 3 times, no appointment for all tries.

Saturday, 26 May 2018

We reached an hour earlier and went for breakfast. Reached the store around 10.15am and there was already a queue with about 15 people. Joined the queue and the door open promptly at 10.30am that day.
Went up to the 2nd floor and was greeted by a very friendly SA. Told her I've got the 10.30am appointment and she asked for my name and passport. After verifying my details, I was assigned to a SA.
The SA asked what I'm looking for and I told her my wishlist. B30, red, blue, pink or neutral color with ghw. K28, black, red, blue, pink or neutral color with ghw. The SA smiled and asked what's my next option if these were not available. My heart sank at her words! I told her, I've not thought about that. SA say she will see what she can find.

Waited for about 20mins for SA to be back. While waiting, I've overheard another SA telling her customer, she's sorry as there wasn't anything the customer was looking for. I can't imagine if I hear that from my SA..

SA is back with a few boxes and she ask me to follow her to the room. I was so so excited! While in the room, she mentioned that there's nothing in my wishlist, but she think I would like this as well. No B30 or K28 that day.

She opened the box and took out the bag. The colour, size and hardware wasn't in my consideration at all! But it's a pretty color (hubby agreed as well). Tried it on and I still wasn't sure if I would carry it. I told myself, the bag will look so good in a white dress and SA agreed with me. SA showed me a charm, pouch, matching wallet and twilly as well.

She wasn't pushy and waited for me to make my decision. After considering for a while and discussing with hubby, we decided to get the bag!! Let's be honest, I don't know when the next Paris trip will be and since I'm so lucky to get an appointment and there's a Bag with a pretty colour, there's really no reason not to get the bag.

While making payment, the SA asked if I would like them to deliver the bag to the hotel we're staying and it takes about 2hrs for the bag to be delivered. I said yes to that! The bag was safely delivered to the hotel!!

Congrats! B25 is a rare size. A smaller bag with a pop of colour is a refreshing change. Other than the colours suggested, black is always a great neutral to match. Flowery or graphic prints with green are possible options too.

Enjoy your bag !

Hello everyone, sorry if this was already asked. As our Eurostar will arrive into Paris at about 1:30pm on a Saturday and I am worried if we do register for an appointment we might be given a morning one. I am just wondering if it is possible to change the time of an appointment if I am lucky enough to get one?

Thank you in advance for your advice! Have a great day! [emoji171]

No, it is not possible. Read the thread for suggestions.

Hi there, my sister and I were in Paris april 2018 on our yearly Europe girls trip. She placed an SO March 2017 and it was ready by Nov 2017. Our SA held onto the SO for us till last month. We patronize George V and not FSH so I’m not sure how long they can hold the bag for you. But if it works like George V, my sister was in no way under any pressure to pick up the bag asap or given a time frame.
I placed my SO in late Oct 2017 in Paris too. Your sister's experience might mean I will get the email soon. :) Thanks for sharing.

You can't ask for a change. However, you can show up later and just explain why you weren't there on time. I had a 10:30 am appointment, but my Eurostar arrived only at 11:00 am. I was in FSH at 1:00 pm and explained why I was delayed. They accommodated me and I was able to buy a bag.

G’day Ladies! Hoping someone could please explain Hermes purchase policy for B/K and C... more specifically, I’m looking for some help with the following:
1) I understand that there is a quota for K and B in Paris. Does that also apply to C? I was lucky enough to get a K in April. Can I ask for C if I manage to get an appointment on my next Paris trip in July?
2) I also understand the current quota is 1 bag each 6 months. Does it mean one of each K AND B every 6 months? Or is it one of K OR B every 6 months?
3) When does the 6 months purchase ban restriction apply? Is it from the day of your last purchase? Or is there like a defined period (for example, Jan-June and July-Dec) meaning I can get one bag any time between Jan-June and another bag between July-Dec?
Many thanks!

Monday - Finale
To our surprise we both were granted appointments :O. Mine was at 10:30AM on the dot and hers was at 4pm. Just to give you some background this is my second Paris visit where I made a Hermes purchase the first visit (early last year) I only purchased a scarf and a tie for my dad then. My sister never made a single purchase at any Hermes store ever - which makes me believe that it is truly random.

I called and had my flight changed to later. My sister’s 7pm flight was actually the last flight of the day so she cancelled her appointment - we figured if we can’t get it at the 10:30am appt then maybe it just wasn’t meant to be! One of the perks of a 10:30am appointment is that it isn’t “subject to change”. My sister got the link that directed her to refresh the page incase there is an update to the time. I got to the store at 10:25am, I was hoping for earlier and the uber said only 10 mins but there were a lot of street closures in the area which turned it into more like 25 minutes. There was a line of about 20 or so people in front of me (this is outside at the main entrance). They promptly opened the doors at 10:30am and we were all let in. It seemed that very few people new where they were going and the SAs on the first floor started telling people to go to the second level if they had an appointment. Once at the 2nd level people seemed to scatter around - confused? Luckily I managed to quickly get to the right place. Once you go up the stairs there is a counter just past the shoe dept on the left, I guess this is the official “leather” department. There is another service desk there and an SA checking people in. There were about 5 appointments in front of us and at least 10 SAs that were being matched up. They asked for my name and I believe my passport as well but I cannot remember for sure. I was then immediately matched up with an SA.

We sat at a hightop table not too far from the cashier on that level. He immediately asked me what I was looking for, I told him a a Kelly in a small size or a Birkin 25. I was hoping for a dark color in general as I wear a lot of jeans and was nervous about the color transfer. He didn’t write anything down like others mentioned which made me nervous.. But he asked if I wanted something to drink. I said no because I didn’t want him to waste time fetching me a drink lol. He then quickly left for about 20 minutes.

I was sitting in a sort of central area and could easily hear the conversations others were having. In the 20 minutes I was there two appointments were taken at the same table and there were about three appointments going on at the tables next to mine. I was surprised by how many people were requesting a constance. I didn’t really know this bag was so wanted. I also heard requests for a Garden party, Lindys and Evelyns. To my surprise I did not hear the word Birkin once! One lady who’s appointment was taken next to mine did mention 2nd to a constance she would consider a Kelly. My sister unfortunately then got a call and had to leave early for a meeting. She wished me luck and right after she left my SA came back with one large box, two small boxes, and two cylinder like boxes. He then said to follow him! I was SO excited and since I didn’t see anyone in the open areas of the store where I had been waiting being shown B Ks or Cs I assumed it was something amazing.

We go into the room and he said he found something he thinks I will love! To my surprise it was a beautiful Kelly bag in a neutral color just like I asked! (i’m planning to do a proper reveal post with more details) I was soo happy. He then proceeded to show me a charm, twillys to match, a coin purse to match and a few other small items that would compliment my purchase. I politely declined these items as I needed time to digest my purchase lol. He was not pushy one bit and quickly wrapped everything back up and escorted me to the cashier. I paid for my bag and then started chatting with another SA that was in the stationary area. I told her how we both tried 3x each and were not offered an appointment so I felt very lucky. Like the SA from the previous day, she insisted it was completely random and system generated. She also mentioned the high number of requests due to mothers day. She told me It was great that I was there right before Fashion Week as it was just a few days from now. She said that the chances of getting a B/K/C during any fashion week were as rare as the holidays.

Some tips
  • If you go in to see if there are any cancellations, go to the service desk on the 2nd level near the stationary. Right before I was taken to the private room a lady asked if there were any cancellations, I saw him on my way out sitting down with a handbag SA.
  • I don’t believe there is any reason to line up very early if you have a 10:30am appointment, It seems like they have plenty of SAs to fill that appointment time - there were even 2 SAs that I noticed not matched up at the end. So have a nice breakfast
  • Ask for a plain bag to be put over your box. While I took a door to door Uber and there is some sort of embassy across the street , my SA said that it’s safer this way.
  • You must mail in the PABLO receipt after being scanned in order to get my tax refund for Hermes purchases. Regardless if it was declined or not at the kiosk. Most of the other shops I was at said that I didn’t have to mail it back.
  • You may get stopped by the tax officers so have your bag in easy access. There was a table there so that you can do it neatly. I found them to be very professional and didn’t rush me at all as I unpacked my bag.
  • You can go through the Tax kiosk/officers before checking your bags. I had a few new purchases in the bag I was going to check so I had to bring that with me.
  • Stop at the Goyard boutique - there is a line outside but it moves very quickly. I know on the Goyard forum people mentioned that they hated the service.. But it’s worth the amazing savings and availability compared to in the US. If no one is attending to you downstairs then don’t be afraid to go upstairs. Also you can just let the doorman know and he will direct an SA to you once one becomes available.

CUSTOMS BACK HOME
  • I declared all of my purchases and got hit with a 5% tax on the pre-vat price. They were very nice and professional. At the end they only charged my the fee on half the total pre-vat value of my purchases. I ended up spending about 30K total during the trip. He only charged me the 5% on my biggest purchase which was the bag and then let me go. On my way out of the main exit I saw a lot of people being stopped and having their baggage inspected. I’ve heard horror stories and very high fines for this (way higher then 5%). I highly recommend you declare your purchases.
I wish you all luck on your upcoming visits. Please don’t be discouraged if you are not offered an appointment the first few tries. Am open to answering any questions
I heard if you don’t declare - they’re allowed to fine up to 10x of the predetermined VAT rate. Meaning bags can be tax 50% of the actual bag price.
