I would also like to share my recent H journey in Paris. I was in Paris during May 4th to May 11th (I wasn’t aware that during my stay there were 2 major public French holidays).

Saturday, 5/5: Once we landed on Saturday both my DH and I tried to reserve an appointment for Monday. No luck for either of us.

Monday, 5/7: Both of us tried again on Monday for Tuesday’s appointment but still unsuccessful. I was starting to feel a little nervous.

Tuesday, 5/8: We had already purchased tickets to go to Versailles on Wednesday but I really don't want to lose any chance. So we decided to give it another try hoping that either of us will get an appointment on Wednesay. We also decided to go to the FSH store on Tuesday as well to see if we could have any luck (maybe if I purchase something the SA can introduce us to the leather specialist??). I first went to the jewelry section and was greeted by a young Asian salesman. I tried on some silver rings and finally picked the CDC ring. I tried to be a bit direct and asked to see if he could check with one of the staffs downstairs to see if there were any cancelled appointments. He told me “no I’m sorry, but you have to use our new system to make the appointment.” I explained to him that we have tried for couple days and were unsuccessful and he told us every day Hermes receives over 3,000 appointment requests and only 300 appointments are available each day!! We then went downstairs to check out other stuff and I ended up picking the Mini Dog Clous Ronds bracelet in black with rose gold hardware. We were also told that it was actually a French national holiday that day but since the Sevres store was closed the FSH store decided to have special hours and opened their store on Tuesday.

Later that evening miracle happened!! My DH received the confirmation text for Wednesday’s appointment! (We ended up wasting 2 tickets to Versailles on Wednesday and bought another 2 tickets to go on Thursday instead )

Wednesday, 5/9: Our appointment time was at 3:10 p.m. However as we checked around 2:00 p.m. the time kept pushing back. I didn't want to lose our spot so we decided to just sit at a Japanese tea house a block away to wait. The time kept pushing back to 3:30, 3:45, 4:10, 4:40 and finally 5:10. Not a good sign! We decided to go to the store at around 4:45 to see what happened. The lady at the front greeted us and checked us in and told us to stay in the store and my DH should receive a text message when the SA was ready for us. We waited for another 10-20 min. and finally it’s our turn.

We were greeted by a very nice and friendly young male SA and brought us to the 1st floor. He asked us what we’re looking for and right away I made it direct and told him that I was looking for a Kelly 32, preferably in gold hardware but also okay with palladium. I gave him my color choices and leather type as well. He looked on his phone and said let me check and he disappeared for about 10 minutes.

He later came back with a small, flat box and asked me to follow him. By looking at the box I could tell instantly that this would not be a Kelly. He took us to a lady’s fitting room and closed the door. He carefully opened that small orange box and it’s a Constance 18 in a nice medium blue color. He said “I’m sorry but we’re completely out of Kelly”. Constance is my #2 on my wishlist so I asked if he might I have the size 24 instead. He looked on his phone and said he saw a couple available, one in black with rose gold hardware and another one in a darker red with silver hardware. He showed us both and both my DH and I picked the black on rose gold hardware.

Summary: Despite I wasn't able to get my first choice, I felt very fortunate for being able to secure the appointment on Wednesday as I later found out the store was closed on Thursday due to another French catholic holiday and we were leaving Paris on Friday.

So here are several tips for those who are planning to visit the FSH store:

1. Try to register at 10:30 a.m. sharp. Thought they say it's lottery system, I feel like you get a bigger chance to secure an appointment if you register within the first 20 seconds after their registration system is open.
2. Dress nicely for the appointment. You don’t need to wear a lot of brand names but dress neat and descent.
3. If you happen to get to a situation similar as ours that the appointment time keeps pushing back, it won’t hurt to still show up at the original appointment time. They might still be able to check you in.

i think you should bc even if you show up late they will most likely still honour it. just explain you were on the plane etc.. my SA said even if you are late they can still help you bc you are in the system for the date. i don’t know how late exactly though.

My Husband and I was on a Europe trip and decided on Paris as our last destination because I really wanted to score my first birkin from Paris. We decided to stay in Paris for 9days to maximise our chances of getting an appointment. It was good that we did that because we flew in on 14 May from Zagreb and I decided to not try for an appointment for 14 May because I was worried that I may get an appointment and won't be able to reach in time in case of flight delays. We subsequently tried to book an appointment for the next few days. Both of us didn't manage to get any appointments and I was getting frantic because I was flying back soon! My Husband decided to go down to FSH and waited there for hours for 3 days in hope of an appointment cancellation. There were none unfortunately and the appointments were so packed that customers with existing appointments had to wait up to an hour in the shop before they could speak to an SA. I told my Husband to give up but he's one determined man. We finally got an appointment on our fourth try, in fact both of us got the appointments! At the exact same time - Friday 18 May 10.30am! I was so upset cos I was certain they had no deliveries that early in the morning and thus both our appointments will be wasted.

We decided to go together as a couple and combined our appointment. My first choice is birkin in size 30 and my second is constance size 18. My SA is a really lovely lady and so pretty and tall too! she disappeared for a long time. Probably around 30-40 mins and I was so panicked. My Husband kept trying to distract me but all I can see were customers getting rejected for their B,K and C requests and other customers being offered garden party and lindys instead of their original choices..

My lovely SA came out with an orange box and told me to follow her to a quiet corner. The box looked too small to be a birkin but too big for a C18. She revealed a beautiful ostrich C24 in blue de malte.. it was a lovely shade of blue and I would have taken it in a heartbeat if it was in size 18. My Husband encouraged me to get it but agreed that it looks big on me. I'm barely 5 foot tall haha! I was so conflicted, it was the perfect Colour and I love the leather! My SA could see my hesitation and advised me not to take it if I wasn't happy with it. She could sense my disappointment and told me to come back on Tuesday and she would try to see if she could slot me in for an appointment if she wasn't too packed. But no promises.. I was very grateful and went downstairs to purchase a black CDC in alligator with PHW. The SA who served me downstairs was wonderful as well and there was another SA who walked by and heard how upset I was. Both of them assured me and told me to enjoy Paris and to see them if I needed help on Tuesday.

My Sister who joined us on the trip later tried to help us get an appointment and only succeeded on her fourth try - Tuesday 10.30am slot. Monday was closed due to exceptional closure, think it was white Monday. Tuesday morning came and we saw my SA, she remembered what I like and went inside to check on the availability again. My heart was racing and I could see many customers being rejected yet again. She was away for almost 30 minutes and came back with a lovely orange box, I could see 3 twillies on top and a couple of flat boxes. I was elated!! She asked us to follow her into a room and told me she thinks I would be happy with what she found. She then told me she remembers I like blue and even though she didn't manage to get the Colours I requested, she managed to find this lovely beauty for me! Blue electric with GHW in size 30, novillo leather. I was so happy because I love blue electric but didn't dare to request for it because I thought it was a very popular Color! She showed me some twillies and I took whatever she recommended and a horse shoe paddock charm as well. She also showed me some wallets in blue electric but I rejected as I've already got a kelly compact. We then went downstairs and picked out a coin purse. My SA was such a lovely lady and I couldn't help it but gave her a hug cos I was so happy and grateful. My Husband was so happy for me and hugged her too! Haha I hope she didn't find us too weird!

My experience in FSH for this trip is such a wonderful one, everybody is so nice this time round even though I could see that they were all so busy and packed with customers! It's so different from my first visit a couple of years back! I think I will be visiting very often now!

Congrats on scoring the Birkin! It really seems that securing an appointment is as hard as scoring a B/K/C.
By the way, one other tips I forgot to mention in my previous post is whoever that has secured the appointment has to be the one that pays in the end, unless the spouse has the same last name as the husband.

My experience in FSH for this trip is such a wonderful one, everybody is so nice this time round even though I could see that they were all so busy and packed with customers! It's so different from my first visit a couple of years back! I think I will be visiting very often now!

Hi ladies! I've been a silent reader all these while but just wanted to share my story because this thread has helped me so much to score my dream bag.

My Husband and I was on a Europe trip and decided on Paris as our last destination because I really wanted to score my first birkin from Paris. We decided to stay in Paris for 9days to maximise our chances of getting an appointment. It was good that we did that because we flew in on 14 May from Zagreb and I decided to not try for an appointment for 14 May because I was worried that I may get an appointment and won't be able to reach in time in case of flight delays. We subsequently tried to book an appointment for the next few days. Both of us didn't manage to get any appointments and I was getting frantic because I was flying back soon! My Husband decided to go down to FSH and waited there for hours for 3 days in hope of an appointment cancellation. There were none unfortunately and the appointments were so packed that customers with existing appointments had to wait up to an hour in the shop before they could speak to an SA. I told my Husband to give up but he's one determined man. We finally got an appointment on our fourth try, in fact both of us got the appointments! At the exact same time - Friday 18 May 10.30am! I was so upset cos I was certain they had no deliveries that early in the morning and thus both our appointments will be wasted.

We decided to go together as a couple and combined our appointment. My first choice is birkin in size 30 and my second is constance size 18. My SA is a really lovely lady and so pretty and tall too! she disappeared for a long time. Probably around 30-40 mins and I was so panicked. My Husband kept trying to distract me but all I can see were customers getting rejected for their B,K and C requests and other customers being offered garden party and lindys instead of their original choices..

My lovely SA came out with an orange box and told me to follow her to a quiet corner. The box looked too small to be a birkin but too big for a C18. She revealed a beautiful ostrich C24 in blue de malte.. it was a lovely shade of blue and I would have taken it in a heartbeat if it was in size 18. My Husband encouraged me to get it but agreed that it looks big on me. I'm barely 5 foot tall haha! I was so conflicted, it was the perfect Colour and I love the leather! My SA could see my hesitation and advised me not to take it if I wasn't happy with it. She could sense my disappointment and told me to come back on Tuesday and she would try to see if she could slot me in for an appointment if she wasn't too packed. But no promises.. I was very grateful and went downstairs to purchase a black CDC in alligator with PHW. The SA who served me downstairs was wonderful as well and there was another SA who walked by and heard how upset I was. Both of them assured me and told me to enjoy Paris and to see them if I needed help on Tuesday.

My Sister who joined us on the trip later tried to help us get an appointment and only succeeded on her fourth try - Tuesday 10.30am slot. Monday was closed due to exceptional closure, think it was white Monday. Tuesday morning came and we saw my SA, she remembered what I like and went inside to check on the availability again. My heart was racing and I could see many customers being rejected yet again. She was away for almost 30 minutes and came back with a lovely orange box, I could see 3 twillies on top and a couple of flat boxes. I was elated!! She asked us to follow her into a room and told me she thinks I would be happy with what she found. She then told me she remembers I like blue and even though she didn't manage to get the Colours I requested, she managed to find this lovely beauty for me! Blue electric with GHW in size 30, novillo leather. I was so happy because I love blue electric but didn't dare to request for it because I thought it was a very popular Color! She showed me some twillies and I took whatever she recommended and a horse shoe paddock charm as well. She also showed me some wallets in blue electric but I rejected as I've already got a kelly compact. We then went downstairs and picked out a coin purse. My SA was such a lovely lady and I couldn't help it but gave her a hug cos I was so happy and grateful. My Husband was so happy for me and hugged her too! Haha I hope she didn't find us too weird!

I was wondering if you guys can give me some guidance. I land in Paris this Friday at 1PM and leave Monday night. I was wondering if I should try for an appointment on Friday? Based on my previous experience, it seems first try for an appointment is usually a decline. Usually 2nd or 3rd tries may be better. I only have 3 tries before I leave.

Should I try to make the appointment anyway? Or just try for Saturday?

I would try. I plan to do the same thing. I land at 8am on a Wed and won't be able to get to FSH until noon - earliest - but I still plan to try for an appointment for that day. Good luck!

Congrats on scoring the Birkin! It really seems that securing an appointment is as hard as scoring a B/K/C.
By the way, one other tips I forgot to mention in my previous post is whoever that has secured the appointment has to be the one that pays in the end, unless the spouse has the same last name as the husband.

In relation to this? What if it’s say father and daughter or brother and sister but obviously have the same last name? I say that because my brother is only 13 and I would love to be able to register his name for an appointment but clearly for myself .

Can I register using my dad’s name too but I would be the one paying?

Interesting question! Honestly I don’t see a reason why you cannot have all of your family member register for the appointment as long as they can present the passport at the time of checkout.

Any thoughts from other TPFers?!
