Hey ladies and gents, thought I'd share my story of Paris Faubourg boutique here.

I went to Paris during Xmas and hoped to score a b or k there. After a few failed attempts of getting an appointment, I was finally offered one at 10.30 on the 28th Dec, which was 2h20mins before my flight back at cdg airport. Worried about being 'blacklisted' if I don't show up for my appointment along with my gut feeling telling me to give it go, I went there on that morning.

I went upstairs and browsed around the home & RTW session while waiting for my SA. She was a young, friendly lady and asked me what I was looking for before she went in to check the stocks. No chitchat small talk at all but she didn't seem cold either. I was a little worried as she didn't take any notes about my preference. Around 15mins later she came back, empty handed but with a French smile on her face, whispered to me 'I have something to show you, would you come with me, please?'. The fitting room we went (oh boy, it was busy there!). I saw 4 orange boxes on the sofa, and one of them was MASSIVE... I knew I was getting something big. She went 'I tried to find you a bag and it's not easy because stock is really low between Xmas and New Year, I hope you're going to like this'. My heart dropped because I've asked for neutral colours... as I could be quite picky with colours and neutrals IMO are safe choices.

And then she took out a B from that massive box... I almost couldn't believe my eyes because I knew how popular this combination is and supposed to be one of the most sought-after bags. She was actually nice enough to offer it to me when my DH was paying and he didn’t even have a profile in Paris, never mind a purchase history! ‘35 in black Togo with gold hardware?’ I asked just to make sure that I am getting it right and she nodded to confirm, with a big excited smile on her face. This is my ultimate holy grail bag but I wasn’t even in hope of scoring one from the boutique myself, considering how small my local boutique is. I was so delighted, held the bag for literally 2 secs and said, ‘this is my bag now’ to my DH. I told her I had a flight in pretty much 1.5hrs time but this was all worth missing the flight for. The nice SA then quickly showed some other items that she thought I might be interested in but wasn’t pushing me into buying any of them. I bought a fourbi separate bag lining with the B and then went to the cash till. Just while we were waiting for the cashier, the SA checked the traffic for me and reassured me that I’d make it, how lovely! The uber came at perfect timing and we indeed made the flight.

I’m sure you’ll know how a B35 looks in black Togo with GHW but there’s a pic of my very own brand new b:

What a nail-biter of a story! Was so afraid you'd miss your flight. Amazing how everything came together as though it was meant to be.

Your bag is beautiful! Wear her in good health!

Thanks a lot :) that was indeed my new highlight of the trip. Sure, I’d be telling that story to my grandkids several decades later and show them my bag. I have faith in Hermès that this Birkin is still going to be in a good shape

Hi Ladies ,

Will it be advisable to clock my miscellaneous under FSH or my home store ? Will the SA in FSH appreciate my loyalty? I visit FSH quite often and usually i get 1 B per year however i still have to go under the appointment system whereas my home store i do not really have a close relationship with any SA.

Thanks
Was she able to get another online appointment though to see another bag?

Any other advice out there ladies?
no she tried for a few weeks straight and didn't get one :/ all boils down to luck. You may or may not have better luck than her. (Hope you do)

Here’s my experience at the CDG duty free shops with any bags even the less popular ones. I have purchased a picotin and a halzan on different trips. On my last trip I asked for a halzan. She went back and said they had one but didn’t readily bring it out, I was clearly a good Hermes customer because I was carrying a birkin and wearing multiple Hermes items and I knew the lingo. So I could tell that she wanted to make a demand about me buying other things but wasn’t sure she could get away with it. Fortunately they had a cashmere dress that was sold out at FSH that I wanted so when I asked for that suddenly the halzan was brought out. I also grabbed a matching belt strap while I was there.

So I believe they are making demands for other purchases to get any bags. I think they are sizing you up to see how much they can get away with. I’m not sure they are supposed to be acting like this. If there is something else that you see that you want definitely get it and grease the wheels/ avoid confrontation. But I wouldn’t cave to blatant demands for a certain amount of spending. That’s insulting. And don’t appear to be too anxious or too much of a pushover because they will definitely try to take advantage.

I’ve heard stories like this especially when it comes to popular items. Roulis is very popular at the moment IMO. I’m saying that because I the ones i saw in Faubourg and London Bond st had display only tags...
Roulis was used in a very popular Korean drama in the past year and half or so so that may have boosted its popularity as it was used by a very high profile actress in the show.

Ah! Your theory makes sense. I didn't think her last show was all that great but apparently, it was still quite popular. When I was in Paris about a year, my cab driver told me that was one of his TV shows at the moment. If a middle aged French guy enjoys watching it with his wife, I could just imagine how widely it was accepted in whole Asia. And you know how everything she wears, people run to buy! I think Hermes cape she wore on the show before the last one was also quickly sold out in Asia few years ago.

I'll be off to Europe in couple days and I guess I would be visiting FSH with zero expectation. I've been thinking about getting a Roulis as a sub for Constance. But now I learn even that would not be so easy. Oh well, there is a short list of non bag items to get anyway, so I guess I would still come home with at least something.

Here are my two different bag buying experiences from CDG. Both times, I got a Herbag. The first Herbag was shown with the SA clearly pushing for other purchases. He smoothly mentioned if I wanted get other things such as fragrances or some scarves. Actually, really pushing the cashmere solid stoles. I really didn't like those, so I opted to get a CSGM and couple twillies instead. He also pushed for a mini Bearn card case after that, something like 800 euros but I said no and that was it.

The second Herbag, SA proceeded to show me the options right away. But when I was deciding which to get from two color choices, she whispered I might have to buy something like a pair of shoes if I want to take both. I took one bag and got some fragrances and few twillies as a thank you gesture to SA for being helpful and not pushy.

I know Herbag is not that highly sought after bags but still, experiences with two SAs were quite different. With the first one, it was pretty clear he wasn't even going to bring the bag out if it didn't look as if I was getting something else. So as always, different SAs, different ways.

My experience at the CDG airport was like this...I asked if constance mini were available, he said yes a orange poppy. Since that wasn't the color my sister was after, i asked if more color choices were available. he thought about it then said yes, in rose azalee, i asked to see the color of rose azalee just to get a feel...he was nice enough to bring it out. Since i knew the game, i figured it was easier to just ask upfront what's the spending requirement...at no point did he mention yet the pre-spending...he almost whispered that I'd need to spend the same amount as the constance mini...I didn't end up walking away from either but did post it here that it was avail if anyone were traveling through CDG at that moment...unfortunately, my post was taken down from this thread hours after.

Thank you for the intelligence. I was at CDG a few years ago and there were a couple of Lindy 30 on display and all of them were available to purchase without spending money on other items. Things definitely have changed even at the airport which is quite disappointing.
