hmmm will have to double confirm the price deposit thingy with my SA here in SG, but pretty sure she said 50% deposit will lock-in a confirmed price.

anyway thanks so much for the advice! I will hve a wk to think it over before telling my SA.

Hi there, yes, it is a easier to score a halzan or lindy generally speaking. These bags are more readily available and typically don't have to be assigned to a particular SA who is the only one able to sell it. B's and K's are typically assigned to specific SA's for sale or granted at the discretion of the SM.

Thanks Luckylove. Interesting note about SA’s and the ability to sell B/K.

Hi friends, I would like some advice please.

I'll be going to Paris in June 2018 and of course will go to all the H stores hoping to get a bag. This will be my 3rd trip (the first 2 with no luck), so I'm really hoping to score this time.

I have my eye on a pc of fine jewelry (the Boucle Sellier bracelet with diamonds) and my dilemma is this:

1. Should I wait to buy it in Paris and use that as spending towards getting a BKC since it is more likely to increase my chances of the SA offering me a bag?

2. Or should I buy it in my home store in Singapore where it costs much more, but ensures me a bag since it adds to my spending history?

I have to place a deposit for a special order for the bracelet as they don't have my size in stock. What also adds to my problem is the price increase thats coming in mid Jan so I have to tell my SA about my decision before the price changes.

Anyone been in my situation before? Any advice would be appreciated! =D Thanks!
I agree with PbP and recommend our buy in your home store from your home SA. For me, it is fun and exciting to go through the process of buying wishlist items with my SA, who is like a friend whenever we chat In person or over the phone. You can continue to build your profile at home and hopefully get exactly what you are looking for in the neutral color zone. If there are any other items you are looking for, it could be good to buy those in Paris for your spending history. But I like keeping big purchases for home to benefit my SA.

I have a question. After spending SGD16k were you offered the bag with your exact preferred specs? This makes a big difference as many have pointed out buying your bracelet in FSH probably almost guarantees a bag offer but not neccessarily what you actually want. If you have a good history with your home store SA then it may be a better option as you can indicate your preference/ wishlist and wait for it to arrive.

More than likely. Or perhaps FSH has a different policy because they get so many tourists. Both of mine were jewelry as well and I sure wasn’t happy when they insisted they had to charge me the increased price.

Hmm I actually I was not aware of the fact that one could prepay and hold onto a price. That would be nice though.

I dropped by DH’s home store in south France. They were remaking all price tags. Practically everyone in that store was sorting out the new price tags. Price is increasing this year. I guess I would have to pay the price at the time of pickup for my SO.

The B25 she offered me wasn't my first choice, but the size was on my wishlist, only the color was a slight compromise as it was the only bright red available at that time.

Re: luggage at FSH, large check in ones are not allowed but hand carry sizes are ok. FSH security will need to look in every bag that enters the store. There is a City Locker at 9th arr to store large bags, 5-10 min by car away from FSH. The locker rental must be booked online. If you are small like me and get allocated a locker on the top row, you can call them on the spot to request a reallocation. The locker isn’t big enough for my sport trunk and cabin trolley so I took the cabin trolley to FSH and the guards said it’s a very nice luggage when they took a look in it.

Hi Ladies ,

Will it be advisable to clock my miscellaneous under FSH or my home store ? Will the SA in FSH appreciate my loyalty? I visit FSH quite often and usually i get 1 B per year however i still have to go under the appointment system whereas my home store i do not really have a close relationship with any SA.

Thanks

I’m Singaporean but I made FSH my home store and Munich my back up home store because 1) I’m often in Europe (bf is German) 2) SG prices vs EU prices. I make all my H purchases at FSH and a few at Munich if FSH doesn’t have them. I do think my purchase history has helped tremendously. It’s of course not a fixed formula but for reference, I was fortunate to be allocated a P.O. C24 after I bought an alligator CDC and was unable to find a Lindy or Herbag that trip (which was my original intention for the trip). My SA knew a C24 was my next target for the new year. My purchase history doesn’t have very big ticket stuff but spans across shoes, belts, silver jewelry and my B from a few months ago.

With the factors in my situation, I never really considered building a purchase history in SG although I do have an SA with whom I purchased twillies from and do stuff like global search for old season things and sending my ring for resizing (which I should have brought to Paris tbh). If you are able to travel frequently to Paris, I think it’s better to buy everything there because you’ll be able to wait for the right bag offered (and be able to pick it up). If you can’t travel frequently, you may feel stressed to accept a bag that isn’t exactly what you want.

Good luck making your decision!

I am not French but FSH has been my "home store" for more than a decade. I lived either within a few hours travel or in Asia during which I visited once or twice a year. Being quite H crazy at the beginning I also shopped at the local stores in the places I lived. So depending on what you decide, both options can work for you. It definitely worked for me. Good luck, it sounds as if your SG SA did try her best for you.

I think locking in a price with a deposit only applies to jewellery pieces, watches and bespoke pieces which may take a while to arrive. I don't think it is possible with a leather SO, if I understand you correctly.

Yes I think you are right. The two times I did it were for jewelry pieces. I was coming from a distance and wanted to make sure the pieces were available when I arrived. So I wired the deposits. I didn’t even think about the price issue but the prices did increase in that interval and they honored the original price, which I thought was nice.

My experience at FSH is that as long as I have more than one bag on the wishlist they fulfills the customer’s wish given some amount of purchase history from various department especially clothes and fine jewelry.

And yes I totally agree that if one wants the exact configuration of a bag the local shop serves better for that purpose. The cost to get the exact bag could be very high at a home store. Long wait might occur also.

Very helpful information Ppup and periogirl! I also consider FSH as my Home store from now onward.
