I GOT A BAG! OMG I can't believe it.

I'll start from the beginning :) Got into Paris last night Friday evening, I wasn't initially planning to go to Hermes FSH because I had heard about the appointment system and needing to go early, but I thought what the heck, it's still open, might as well give it a try. I went in, they told me for handbags you need to come tomorrow, they don't have any more appointments left. I browsed and bought a bracelet. I had never bought anything from Hermes before until last night. Reading posts about how it helps to have a purchase history, so I though I'd buy something small I like. That got me in their system, since it was my first ever purchase at any Hermes.

Saturday morning, got in line at around 8:50am. I think I was in the first 10, but when they opened the doors, people stormed in and I didn't know where to go, I finally found the line to make an appointment, and it seemed to me that if you were waiting on the side entrance, you would of gotten in line sooner, bc it seemed the line for an appointment was close to the side entrance. There were definitely people behind me in line outside that got in front of me in the line inside!

Staff was very polite, a nice man made an appointment for me by scanning my passport after I waited for around 10-15 minutes in line. I got a text right away that my appointment time was 11:20. Pretty close to the time it was then, around 10:45, so I went to Chanel across the street for a little but then came back and looked around the store. The time changed a few times ranging from 11:20 to 11:45. I saw my SA at around 11:30. She was a very nice young girl. I showed her my wishlist which lists a few different colors of birkins and leathers and specified I wanted a 30 or 35. I waited quite a while (at least 20 minutes it seemed like). I actually wasn't feeling very hopeful at this point, just given all the cutting in line (most were not interested in following the honor system), I overheard a few people get turned down (though I don't know if they asked for a B or K or something else), and I only saw 1 or two large orange boxes being carried by SAs. When she came back down she had a large orange box and said to come with her and my heart leaped! We went upstairs to a private room, and she showed me a B35 in Clemence in Toffee. I was so excited when I saw it, even though it wasn't one of the colors I listed, she understood from my list that I was looking for something neutral. This color is perfect. I seriously still can't believe I scored on my first try ever.

All the tips from TPF seemed to work, buy something else before, and be specific. I did both and now I have a B!

The only thing - she told me it's 35, but it looks like a 30 to me. I wonder if she was wrong? Or is 35 really not that big? Well, whatever size it is, I'm happy!

Congrats!! Love your happy story! Can't wait to see your bag!

I want to thank the ladies on this board for their stories. My story is long! I arrived in Paris late in the afternoon. The FSH is a short walk from the Park Hyatt so I went over shortly after I checked in. I purchased a drag bracelet with rose gold hardware. I told the SA I was interested in some Twillies so we walked over to the scarf section. After picking a couple of Twillies I asked if there were any more leather appointments for the day. Unfortunately, there were none, but I knew chances my chances were slim.

The next day I arrived at the store around 10:15. The lines on the side and front were probably at least 20 people deep. I joined the line at the front of the store. The line moved fairly fast once the doors opened. They were very good about directing you were to go for leather appointments. They took a picture of my passport and got my contact info so they could send a text with my appointment time. I was scheduled at 3:45, which was perfect since it gave me time to do some other shopping.

My appointment time moved up a few times, but I ended up with my original appointment time. Since I was early, I walked around the men's section looking for a pocket square, and then just sat down to wait for my appointment. My SA was very direct, not much small talk. She asked what I was looking for. I told her, a Birkin 30 or 35 in blue sapphire or blue nuit in Togo leather or a Kelly 28 or 32 in epsom. She asked if the bag was for me, had I shopped in this store previously, would I be interested in anything else, and was this my first Birkin? "Yes, yes, Twillies and a scarf and yes." She was off! My heart began to race. Time moves so slow while waiting. I was thinking she was sitting back there drinking tea, getting ready to tell me there were no bags.

She came back with a big orange box in her hands and asked me to follow her. Huh, what, me? Really? OMG, OMG!! We went upstairs and she was telling me there were no 30 or 35 in blue but they have different oranges. My heart sank a little! She opened the box and she pulled out a beautiful Birkin 35, raisin in Togo leather! Yay! She thought that would be a great first bag for me and I totally agreed! Afterwards she warmed up and we talked about lots. She was great! The experience was very nice. Good luck to all those who give it a go.

Congratulations on your bag, such a great colour. I'm going in 4 days and was wondering did you get anything else before she showed you the bag ? I've shopped once only at this store and got a Kelly which was 2 years ago, not sure if it counts.
