I will leave this reminder as a sticky because tthis is often a thread that new members (or new Hermès lovers) post on - hopefully temporarily.

Thank you! I actually shared my story already but haven't had a chance to upload a pic yet ;). Will do it soon!
The thread moves so fast. I'll go back a few pages to read your story. Reading everyone's experience is always interesting even though I've no near future plans to be in Paris. Hopefully they come up with a better system than lining up outside. My friend just got a cold this week after lining up for 2.5 hours outside.

This is my favorite thread on Tpf but it definitely moves fast! Sorry to hear about your friend getting sick from standing in the cold outside. The system is definitely not perfect. Hope they sort it out soon!

Taking my Kelly out for the first time today. Bought a shoulder strap from LV - longer & wider = more comfy!
Last day in Paris!

Beautiful strap to go with your K40. Congrats on scoring these items in Paris. I've always wondered why H won't channel their efforts this year into adding another accessories line like straps. I know they don't want to be a follower but that is the category that is enjoying double digit growth now. Most people are cutting back on the number of bags to acquire but are willing to indulge in smaller items like bag charms and straps. Plus I must admit that the straps that come with the Kelly and Bolide are way too narrow for their bags since their thicker leather and hardware all tend to add up. I find it something hard to balance it on my shoulder.

Thank you and yes I wish there were options with the shoulder strap. One thing I don't understand is that why the shoulder strap is still short for a big kelly. I was also looking at Fendi shoulder straps but in the end LV won since I was looking for almost similar colour.

Here are my two cents on the new system:
- you need to arrive early, so you can get the appointment for the day. I arrived at FSH around 9.15 am and the line at the main door was already long!
- I was in the line at the side entrance, 5th in line, and it was definitely shorter than at the front entrance. I think me picking the side entrance line was a good idea, as it was closer to get to the "appointment line" inside. Also, if you are coming from the main entrance, they will be a security person who will block people from time to time, to let people from the side entrance to get into the appointment line.
- You need good weather on your side! - I waited outside for 1 hr and 15 minutes, it was overcast, luckily it did not rain. I could not imagine if it was raining, as I did not carry an umbrella!
- My appointment time was originally at 11.15 am, and as most of you already aware, appointment time changes like crazy! My appointment time was finally set for 11.55.
- Be specific helps I think. I already had a list of colours that I wanted. You could say "any dark colours", but I think if you specify, it makes the SA feels like you know your H jargons!
- May be previous history helps. My last trip to Paris was about two years ago. So I suppose they still save my previous purchases.

Thanks again.

So beautiful! Love the strap! Congrats!

I was in Paris for two days this week on Friday and Saturday. I passed by fsh at 9:15 and line wasn't crazy long on both front and side entrance. So I went to Concorde first to take pic of Eiffel Tower by the bridge then got into line at 9:25. By then the line was a bit longer but I was hopeful that I would get an appt. The door opened at 10:30 and I think they now simultaneously open both doors now with side door having shorter line and closer to leather. Three people in front of me started to get the, sorry, all appts for today is gone and they were passing out cards that has Sevres and George v address to kinda say maybe there's hope there. On Saturday, by 9:15, the line was shorter than the previous day and since I didn't queue, I don't know what happened. I was at the store around 4pm on Saturday waiting to be serviced for looking at calvi (no appts required) and I saw a walk in able to secure an appt for a 6:10pm appt. So I'm suspecting that they are giving out maybe less appts in morning and leaving some for people coming in afternoon. This is purely my guess as I really don't think there were that many appts already given out on Friday before me unless alot of people had cut in line right before store opened. And the line by side door was much shorter. Btw for future reference, think another sa said that the Friday I was there was France's national day so stock wasn't plentiful. Another thing to keep in mind when going during their holidays.

I am just back from Paris. I was able to buy a Kelly 35, my favorite size, in raisin. I am a frequent visitor to the store. I did not go at opening time and I did not have any trouble getting into the store to shop. I would not go before 11-11:30 to avoid the rush if you just want to shop for other things in the store. I only noticed 1 or 2 people sitting around the store checking their phones and not shopping. I believe it looks very bad for people to do that. But the store was serene and much more pleasant now that the line inside the store is gone. And yes they have someone to help with small leather goods immediately so you do not need to wait.

I just wanted to give feedback because it had sounded like the store was chaotic or that people were having a hard time getting in to shop from other posts. That's not true. It was a very pleasant shopping experience.

Congratulations PBP! I think I was sitting at the table right next to you when you were being shown your bag. Your Kelly is stunning! My mother was admiring the beautiful raisin shade. [emoji87] I was admiring your beautiful jacket.

Congratulations Pocketbook Pup! Your Kelly is gorgeous, and all of your jewelry purchases are stunning. I hope you enjoy your Filet d'Or necklace as much as I do mine. And you have inspired me to purchase the Farandole earrings and necklace. Beautiful yet understated and the earrings are so dainty! Thank you for sharing your wonderful experience and items. :flowers::flowers:
