Looks like chèvre ... you can certainly condition it. However, I would not use a heavy greasy conditioner I would use a light lotion type conditioner or a light cleaner/conditioner type product you do not want to saturate the lining with wetness if a cleanser or the oils of a greasy type conditioner.
