After reading a couple of hours in this forum, I found out, that Balenciaga must have changed the quality or whatever of their leather.
Does anybody know when it was?(Season)
I want to buy a 'Vintage' Twiggy, but I'd love to get one of the older ones...the more fantastic leather...

Welcome to the Bbags forum

Balenciaga did change their leather (from chevre to agneau), ie lamb to goat sometimes in 2007 (can't quite remember which season)..

Hi guys….I’m new to Balenciaga Bags and I’m currently saving up for my first bag…I’m just a little confused about the leather……are there certain years and styles that have the smooth, soft leather and other years that have the veiny and crinkly leather?? (which im not looking for)

If anyone can tell me which years and styles have the smoothest, softest leather, I would really appreciate it…….I’m mainly looking to buy a First or a City in black…any help would be great.

i think that most bags pre-06 have pretty good leather... 05 is notorious for having amazing leather.i have 07's from spring (? whichever season vert d'eau & sandstone are from) that are incredible... really, REALLY soft, silky and smooshy.

06/08/09 have some great leathers, but not as consistently as 05 & prior and 07. it's more of a win/loose situation.

for you i would probably rec' keeping an eye out for an 05 black city or first.

IMO it's 2005, my city rouge theatre is 2005, and I think that this was also the year of the smooshiest leather. . .

There's an Origan Twiggy for sale in Bal LV. That's an 06 It's nice. Hope that's Vintagey enough

Is there any way to know if my fall/winter 07 is agneau or chevre without the tag? I have no idea where it is and no idea how one would tell. I have several others Bals and have tried to diagnose it but to no avail....
