What is the most that you'd spend on a handbag?

The most I've spent on a bag was $2500 and that was pushing it. I would like to purchase a classic Chanel and that will be well over $3000, but I'm still not sure if I wanna take it there...

Dear all, I have been thinking of this issue:smile1: how many percent of ur pay is justifiable for a bag? The max I have spent is about 50% of my pay on a 2nd hand Chanel :p

Just wondering how many percent of ur monthly income u r willing to spend without feeling guilt??

I have been contempt to blow 2 months on a Kelly but then it's just wild thinking on my part!:graucho:

Well,I don't have a pay yet and I really don't think about the money I'm spanding, but I'm sure I don't spend more than 50% on shopping . And yeah,I'd say I always invest my money in a good way, without feeling guilty, ofc there's time when I open my closet and find something that I've never wore before, and then i think that I've threw the money, but still I don't feel guilty at all.

Lol, I m always trying to find ways to justify my spending else I will feel guilty about it. It doesn't make sense to spend a month salary on a bag and pinch on food etc

Sense & shopping are not compatable words !!
I reckon as long as you don't get yourself into real financial trouble (maxed-out credit cards & unpaid bills etc) then "go for it" .. you only ever really regret the things you didn't do (believe me, I'm old enough now to know the truth in that one) & new shoes / bag etc are pretty harmless pleasures in the grand scale of things (& with a classic bag, you can always recoup some of your spend on a resale in the future - it's an investment !!) xH

Thanks for your advice! I will wait for an affordable one to come round :graucho:

i agree and i'll never understand those kind of people,'cause it's not about just buying designer bags, shoes etc,it's not enough,it requires appropriate lifestyle.

As much as you can while still being a responsible adult. Credit card debt? No more purses. Don't buy purses on credit, and really don't buy anything on credit. I'm in nursing school right now and when I graduate I'll be getting a chanel bag that will probably be as much 150% of one paycheck, but I'm not doing that every paycheck obviously lol.

So far I've been able to buy my heart's desires for less than 800. However, if I felt that 'gotta have it' fever I'd spend up to 1k but anymore than that is out of my range...but I would look on ebay to see if I could get that bag in my price range but gently used. I don't buy much for clothes and shoes so my bag addiction takes all. :-)
