What is the most that you'd spend on a handbag?

My limit is $1000. I'd have to really love the bag if it was over $1000. And that it was truly worth it. Even one at $800, it really has to be worth it. $600-$700 is okay.

As a college student, my limit is $500. Even then I prefer to look for bags on sale. Thankfully most of Rebecca Minkoff's bags are under my limit

It really all depends on the brand, and the material the bag is made out of. I would never spend more then about $500-600 on a canvas bag. However, if it was a great leather bag, I probably wouldn't go over $4,000. That being said, a bag that's $4,000 would have to be pretty damn fabulous, something that I've wanted for a while, and go with every outfit in my wardrobe. Although I would spend much more on a Birkin or a Kelly, but that would take a long time to save for.

Hmmm...100-150， that's the highest I can go since I'm working on my own,btw what make you spend 1000-2500 , is it because of the brand or the style or the material or as an investment? or something else？ What's the triger? If is made by an original designer , and isn't a well known popular brand, but cost around 200-1000, would you think about it?

I think the most I would spend right now is max $3,000.

The most I have ever spent was $800. That was a one time thing. I just can't imagine spending more than that. My lifestyle doesn't warrant a $1000 or more bag.
My limit now is $400. Of course, if it were a gift!

Oh gosh.. when I was working $1000. Now that I'm a SAHM, probably 500. :x Formula is expensive!!

My general "comfort level" is in the $400-$700 range. My max limit would be $2K and that would only be for a one-shot purchase for the year.

Is this some sort of market research question for the various brands to price their items? Because I think it very much depends on the item and what is needed for. ie is it a seasonal design to bring the wardrobe up to date? Is it a 'serious' investment piece to still have 10 years from now? Or - say - a clutch or something to go to a wedding or an event for? Because I have different tolerance limits for all of these...
