I don't understand the Pony Express love. I hated that bag. It was too small and too difficult to get in and out of to use as an everyday bag. Mine was BT. I accidentally sold it to a reseller, then it was for sale on eBay for a ridiculous price for years. I hope someone now has it and is actually enjoying it.
I've never seen one IRL, so I might have the same reaction. That is one of the reasons I don't want to spend a lot on one.

Y'all. I'm sure there are worse things that could be done to a vintage bag, but I'm having a hard time thinking of any right now lol. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vtg-Coach-...428142?hash=item5d8aba5e2e:g:H9EAAOSwmIlcyfVg
The side more heavily splattered looks like there was some sort of prior *creativity* involving red dye or paint. I can’t decide what is more creative , the artwork or the price.
You know what I’ll say next, paint a Yorkie ( or insert canine, feline of your choice) on it and call it a day.

The description says that one side was "primed in ombre shades of reddish brown with red highlights". I love how precise and comprehensive the description is though--if only all sellers could be so thorough!

Definitely an "acquired taste" that I have NOT acquired. :-s

Idk, they say that "graffiti bags seem to be having their moment" lol!

Oh my. That's awful. Poor bag!

This bag has seen things!

On a more somber note, my Logan bag in British Tan was marked as delivered this afternoon, but there was definitely no package delivered to my house. I'm going to call the PO in the morning, and I'm really hoping it just got left on the truck or something and will show up tomorrow, and that it didn't get delivered to the wrong address. I was so excited to have snagged it, especially since based on the listing pics, it appears to be in really good condition and has that absolutely gorgeous BT patina. I'll be pretty devastated if it doesn't turn up! https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Co...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

Oh, I hope it shows up. I'd check with my neighbors to see if it got misdelivered. The PO has gps that can see where the package was scanned, but some carriers are lazy and scan them at the post office before they go out on their route.

Maybe when the seller said "graffiti bags seem to be having their moment" she was referring to Balenciaga graffiti, which is many steps above just splattering paint on a bag. https://www.balenciaga.com/us/seasonal-handbag_cod45365749ud.html

Minutes after I posted, the doorbell rang, and sure enough it was someone who lives one or two streets over, dropping off my package that got misdelivered to their house. Annoying that it happened, but I'm so relieved they found it and brought it by!

And yes! THAT is what I'd imagine a graffiti bag should look like, not just random paint splatter. Even if it's not to my personal taste, I can definitely respect someone customizing or modifying a bag as long as it's well executed. There's a subreddit I check out sometimes called "Awful Taste but Good Execution", but it seems that all too often the painting on vintage bags could best be described as "Awful Taste and Terrible Execution".

I have no explanation ! In general, I seem to enjoy less popular bags. I don’t own and am in no rush to buy one of the popular styles like the Stewardess, Willis, Station, Courier, Duffle, Musette. Although I would buy any of these if the price and condition were too good to be true. I do have the Saddle in black and Berkeley Flap, everyday cousins of the Pony, lol. Like whateve, I am keeping my spending limit on the low side for a Pony, in case it sits!
My weakness is NYC bags. I just bought a white Dinky for no other reason than it was in super condition and $7.50. It can sit with my Shoulder Bags

I was eating while I was reading and posting earlier and missed the seller’s comments about being primed. And hombre shades.
Yeah, okay.
Hopefully your bag is on its way! Oh, bag anticipation!
ETA, yay, it arrived!

That's great about your bag. It's good you have honest neighbors. One day, two ebay purchases of mine were marked delivered but I never got them. They weren't really expensive but it bothered me. I kept wondering which neighbor kept my items.

There have been more than a few threads on here about painted bags. https://forum.purseblog.com/threads/artists-who-paint-bags.1003761/
In general, I don't care for them but occasionally I see one that I like. I used to own this bag. I found it at a Goodwill. I liked it but I realized it was too flamboyant for me. This is a brand that does nothing but painted bags.

It's beautiful! I would love looking at it but probably wouldn't use it.

I wonder if they ever really shipped? I was scammed on Posh by someone who altered their preprinted label to an address near mine and put it on an envelope. Scan by PO make it look like it was delivered as bar code was correct, but envelope was left at a neighbors. I only knew what happened because someone in another forum here had a similar scam. I made the PO send me the last scan of my item, saw the address was wrong and conacted my CC company.

Wow. Just wow. Did you get your money back??

I think in my case, they were shipped and just misdelivered. It was many years ago. It was two different sellers for packages delivered on the same day so it would be highly unlikely that both sellers would have scammed me. Back then, the PO wasn't taking pictures of packages so there was no way to prove which address was on the package. They weren't using gps in their scanners so there was no way to tell where they were delivered.

I hope you contacted Posh and told them about the seller.

ETA: there was a scammer on Tradesy a few years ago. Back then, Tradesy released the money to the seller after 4 days, so she uploaded tracking for packages that had been delivered more than 4 days earlier. Once Tradesy realized what had happened, they refunded me and banned her. I bet they corrected their software too. Now they don't release the money as quickly.

One time, I was expecting a Coach bag I bought on eBay. I opened the box, and it was a Coach bag, but definitely not the Coach bag I'd bought. I then noticed that it was addressed to the woman who lives three houses down from me. We have the same first name. It was pretty amazing that it was a Coach bag she'd bought on eBay. We laughed about it pretty hard.
