Good question!

Co-sign this list!

And a co-sign to this list too , but even more so too, that I usually won’t pay more than $35-40-ish for a bag. I did pay $85 for a like new red Pocket bag (made a rather low offer, which was accepted immediately, much to my surprise) and non-vintage Ace, also like new.

Go BT! lol

I am currently enjoying my hodge podge vintage collection. I would really like to rotate around what I have (25-ish, with a bunch in various states of rehab). There are bags at my local flea market so just waiting for an usual bag to show up. I almost always see a black Station bag whenever I go! Work and life are busier so I spend less time on the internet sites looking for a steal/deal.
I am buying vintage Coach catalogues of lately.

But . . . there is a vintage brief bag, seen with a Coach cartouche and NYC Creed, two short handles, turn lock flap pockets on either side with an open middle section , seen in rust and whatever they called camel back then . . .
ETA, ohhh and I forgot there is another drop dead vintage tote I saw for the first time last week, like above but with asymmetrical buckle flaps on each side!

That one is gorgeous!

I had to go to my dad's house today, and after some time my stepmother wanted to show me a coach bag she won at a silent auction. It looked like a studio flap but with a snap closure, in black. She said smugly"I told you're dad give me the number in the bag because all coach bags have numbers and if they don't its not worth anything or worth buying". Now everything inside of me screamed, WRONG! but since she is a person you can't tell anything to, and God forbid you tell her she's incorrect, I just said "mmhmm yeah, wow"

I’m taking a break from getting more vintage bags because I think I have all the ones i’d realistically use. So I’m trying to learn to admire from afar. Having said that I’d love to own a monticello if i somehow stumble across one! :)

I actually love my Devons! But that’s because I find that crossbody styles work best for me. Recently they’ve become my most used bags because they are such a great size! I’d imagine the Court bag would be similar and would be great to use too.

I know I had just said I’d like to take a break, but does anyone know what vintage bag the new Rider bag is “inspired” by? I’ve never been tempted by a contemporary bag but my knees are waking from seeing this one! Haha... if there’s a vintage version I’d much rather hunt for that. I think I’d be afraid to use a fancy new purse like that so I’d never actually use it.

I was wondering the same thing. I love the look of this bag but I won't get one unless they make it in a color I can't resist.

Maybe the Lindy? Like they elongated it and flopped over the kiss lock top? I don’t recall seeing any other kisslock tops from the 80s.
I am learning to admire from afar as well!

I too am going to have to start practicing the art of admiring from afar. After buying a grey Court last week I told myself I wasn't going to buy any more bags this month. Then I saw a really beautiful british tan Logan pop up on eBay this morning that I couldn't resist making an offer on. I told myself that if the seller didn't accept my offer then it was a sign I didn't really need it anyway, but they did, so obviously I really did need it after all lol.

Anyone else see this mocha Swag bag that was just listed? It appears to be in beautiful condition, and I know it's a really old and rare bag, but definitely too spendy for me! https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Co...967751?hash=item23bb675907:g:If0AAOSwN5RcxhQG

That kind of $ is cray cray! Of course, lol , I tend to pay less than $50 for my bags , so take it for what it’s worth.

Isn't it annoying that too many sellers know when they have something rare?
I’m less annoyed, lol, if it is rare. I can’t fault the seller, for knowing that. However, I am more annoyed when ANYTHING is labeled as Cashin or 70’s. Or remember that listing where some listed an ordinary brown or BT or black Station bag as “rare” and for something like $250?

I always wonder whether those ever sell. Are those listings on ebay for years or do the sellers eventually give up and lower the price? IMO MOST sellers ask too much on ebay and their items go unsold.

My wish list is kinda short since I have far too many bags already:
I always want pre creed anything, suede almost anything but I would specifically love a red berkley duffle. A Pony, just like y'all... Idk what else maybe a BT Musette... but ultimately I have too many BT bags already so I would need to purge.

Too many BT bags?? What is that?? Huh?? Lol

I actually need one. That's what my pony should be. The only vintage BT I have is my suede watermelon. My 2012 cognac Legacy duffle, 2007 rust Bleecker large flap and 2008 mahogany woven pocket Bleecker hobo are similar shades.
There was a BT Marketing Tote in very good condition for about $100 I passed on. I get annoyed just thinking about it. A BT Pony . . . :girlsigh: Who doesn’t need one??
I know it is not a rare animal, but I am absolutely in love with my BT Oliver. I know it is because I found it in as close to unused condition as you can get with no tags! For $26 bucks no less. It was unfathomable to me, at that point , that I could own a like new vintage bag. And my BT Bancroft is super soft leather. And a NYC BT Shoulder Sac rounds me out. So with all that BT love, I’ll take a Pony however I can get it! Hopefully without a dog painted on it

I don't understand the Pony Express love. I hated that bag. It was too small and too difficult to get in and out of to use as an everyday bag. Mine was BT. I accidentally sold it to a reseller, then it was for sale on eBay for a ridiculous price for years. I hope someone now has it and is actually enjoying it.
