Oh, now I remember I have a real question I don't know who to ask, maybe you could help:
How do I buy something from Hermes? I don't live near any store (they are at least 3-4hours away and in another country) and H doesn't ship to my country. So I can't just stop by a store and build a relationship with a SA. The only way is to shop while traveling. Is there any other way, do they make a mail order or anything?

In case you didn’t get your answer, H doesn’t ship or are connected internationally...yet. Call your local store and in most cases they’ll be more than happy to send items to youupon verification of your billing address.

I’m going to go to the London boutique for the first time this summer I think.
Do they have a leather sample book or something?
How are you supposed to know what you want?

Has anyone felt Epsom leather and does it have a plasticky feel to it? That’s something I’ve heard a lot on the internet/forum and I don’t think I want that.

They should have leather swatches but in the event they don’t I recommend feeling the type of leather in another item (preferably the same kind of item). Same thing with the colors. Always look at the colors you’re interested in the leather you want them in. Just tell the SA you want to see what GA looks like in Clemence And they can either pull out the swatches or a Wallet in that leather and color for you to see what your handbag would look like.

Anything without a price tag basically... for B n K I roughly have a ball park figure but sometime still wish to know beforehand but mostly I just know when I need to sign my credit card
Well, anything that's sold online (scarves, SLGs, RTW, homeware, many bags.....) you can look up. For Birkins etcetera the pricing thread will at least give you a general idea.

I think you may be the dream client. Simply ask that you'd like to see what leathers and colours they have available. Just dont start by asking for a birkin, because i think staff have birkiexhastion:biggrin:. wallets, card cases, belts or any of the less instagrammed items....

Haha. I don’t actually like big heavy tote bags so it’s taken me a while to get past the birkin’s dominance and get into Hermes.
I’ll definitely look into the SLGs and I do like their printed stuff as well.
So do they expect their customers to start small and build up their order size? I have seen people talking about buying smaller things to try and get to birkin levels - is that the norm or can you go in and buy say, a roulis, straight away?

The only “exclusive” items would be those handbags. You can go into any store and buy a roulis if you’d like. Doesn’t matter the size. It’s against the law to tell customers “you have to shop ex amount to be able to get a bag” but that’s what you have to do to be able to get offered a bag. Some people get it and most people will go in, ask for a bag, leave their wishwhen they’re told they’re sold out and then never set foot in the store or make a purchase. But they’ll sure hound the SA.

If you have feel free to ask away. I’m hoping that some of your questions shed light as to why Hermes operates the way it does and why some people get frustrated with the system.

How do they “allocate” quota bags? For example customer A, B and C all request for the same bag with same(ish) specs... their total spend is the same but customer A has been a customer for 4 years, customer B, for a year and customer C for 3 months. How would the SM allocate the bag and which customer will get it? Would it be based on the customer’s SA?
