Plenty of threads on quota bags, including in different country's variables.

Mr. Ex- I was invited to a Mens Made to Measure event and thinking of taking my husband so he can get a nice jacket made. Do you have any context on pricing?
Hi, they usually start at around $4100 if I'm not mistaken but that depends on the material you/your husband chooses. Take the time to appreciate the experience as it is something specifically made for you husband! :)

I am interested in a barenia bolide (mini, 1923 25 or 27) and thinking about telling my SA it's something I want. I am still pretty new to Hermes (spent about 8000 now) so I am not sure if it's too much to ask for as I presume one is quite difficult to come by?
Anyone have any thoughts on this?
Obviously it's not a quota bag but ultimately I would like to get a Kelly or Birkin next summer when I reach the 1 to 1 ratio. Would my request of a bolide jeopardize my quota bag offer?

Thanks so much!!

The important thing is that you are honest with your SA.
If that is what you want, just tell your SA and stop trying to get into your SA's head.
It shows your interest in the brand goes beyond quota bags and that is what Hermes would prefer with its customers. Similarly when you ask about the Bolide there is no harm in mentioning a Kelly or Birkin, but do have a particular size/leather/colour combination in mind, even if it might be difficult to obtain.

Thank you I have seen some posting on social media but I am certain that a barenia one will be difficult to come by... I might as well just put it out there next time I see my SA so she can keep an eye out for me since it's gonna be rare and may take months if not years to get one. Thanks!
No harm asking. There are definitely mini Bolides in Barenia Faubourg out here and I don't say this based on reseller sites. :graucho:

Something that I am curious about when I’m reading online and researching… a lot of folks say that they begin their journey making a few “small” purchases. What $ amount quantifies as small? Is there a $ threshold you plan to spend before making an appt?

I’ve spent about $4k in two purchases so far in a month. I saw that someone said they wouldn’t even go into a store if they’re not planning to spend around $3k in one purchase to save their SA’s time, but I’ve also seen folks say they go in to purchase one or two twillys or scarves that probably don’t come close to $3k lol. I certainly don’t want to make my SA feel like they’re wasting time with me for a $2k purchase!

I am new to Hermes as well! So far I had 4 purchases and ranges from 800 to 4000. My plan is to visit approximately once a month but don't have a set budget in mind. I will just buy stuff that I like and it could be a few hundred dollars to a few thousand dollars. I have to say that my SA seems pretty pleased with my latest purchase of a 4000 cardigan and finally gave her number to me. It's going to be a marathon to establish the profile at Hermès so be genuine and don't overthink! I sure will limit my time at the store if I am only buying something less expensive (or go on a less busy day).

I will go in to buy a Calvi or a scarf or whatever - my SAs would prefer that to my ordering those online. I just don't take an hour of their time to do it....I WeChat or WhatsApp and say "I'd love to drop in and pick up xxxx if there's one around".

Now, if you're building a new relationship, it's probably nice to have a bunch of things you know you want to buy all at once (unless your store is small it is easier for your SA to get a heads up on what to pull, so if you are CERTAIN you want something let them know).

I just got this Kelly Touch Leather in medium, but i cant seem to find much info on it online. Its not even listed on hermes's own website (much like the regular kelly/birkin/etc)

Any links or reviews ?

I’m on of those unicorns that will just make an appointment with my SA to talk to them LOL - I never really think about spend but I always have an item in mind (ranges from perfume to a sweater/coat) but it’s a hit or miss with stock lately. We genuinely enjoy each other’s company so I think they think of it as a “break” and I get to do a visit to see stock, they don’t mind so win-win. However I would say for the most part SAs probably don’t like that, but I don’t know that there’s a minimum you need to spend during each visit - correct me if i’m wrong! I’ve had a very unique experience

I’m a little confused regarding placing phone/remote orders with my SA.

With the exception of one store visit, all of my other orders have been placed with her by phone Bc my boutique of choice is 1 state over.
So when I make requests sometimes my SA will say “yes sure I ordered these items for you, I’ll let you know when they come in.
“Sometimes she says “unfortunately these items aren’t available to order they are sold out in all of US.”
I guess I’m confused as to why some items are available to order and some aren’t? I understand some of the orders are items that are coming from another boutique & those usually come super quick, within a few days.
Then the other orders seem to be items that we have to wait for our home boutique to have replenished.
I don’t get why some pieces she can’t order? Does it mean the waitlist is too long for those items?
For example I REALLY want a Kelly Pocket Compact Wallet. I’ve asked her twice in the past 5-6 mths if possible to order and both times she said she looked & “it’s not possible to order at this time.” I’m not really sure why as I’m open to wait for whenever they receive more stock.
Do I just keep asking every few months if it’s open for order?
thank you I’m advance !

Inventory/stock and generally availability of items at Hermes is at an all time low from my experience shopping there. I went to my store yesterday and where there are typically SLG displays, they have it fluffed with a few of the lipsticks/beauty items that are typically displayed on another level. Where bags are typically displayed, there are beach towels & shoes there instead to at least have something to display. My SM explained to me they are literally putting out what they have on the displays and it is just as frustrating to them as well related to inventory and availability. I would imagine if your SA can't "order" something, it's literally because there's no inventory to "order" from.

Oh wow, yes unfortunately stock seems to be extremely low all around w Hermes.

I think I may have not expressed myself clearly in my first post.

for example: few days ago I asked if I can order chypre sandals in the Rose Aube color. Today she text me back that “I placed an order/request for you in the sandals, but it may take a long time to come in because there is Zero stock in the US right now. But when there is we can try to fulfil the order.”

Example 2: can I please order Kelly compact wallet? “Sorry unfortunately I can’t place an order for that item because there is zero stock showing in the US.”

In both cases there isn’t any availability of stock, but for some items she goes ahead and places an order in the event the item is replenished. For few items she’s told me she can’t even make a request.
So just confused why some items can be ordered, even where there is zero availability, yet other items i can’t even request.

Leather goods are usually more difficult to reserve/order. An “order“ is just a kind of wishlist that they put on your account if they think there will be future deliveries. Then when the delivery gets scanned into inventory, it will pop up if the item is on someone‘s list. Popular items, seasonal items, and leather goods are often not “orderable” as they don’t want to waste their time if they don’t expect it to come back in stock and they also want to leave some inventory for walk-in clients/displays, or just not have 364837 names pop up for every item scanned. Each store has different policies on this, some stores/SAs don’t do “orders” at all. Also, some/most stores won’t ship any kind of leather goods these days so there is no point putting it on “order” for you if she can’t ship it to you when it arrives (if she knows you wouldn’t travel for it).
