I think you make a new wish. Your selection preferences might have changed by the time they ask you again?

Thank you - that would make sense. I feel funny broaching the subject considering I’m not looking for anything specific immediately and intend to enjoy my purchase. I had started to think that the 8 month validity of the wish list that I was told about also applied if a wish had been granted. Sorry - overthinking!

Hi Mr. Ex,

I have a slightly unusual question and I just wondered about your personal opinion. So in one of the boutiques I frequent I know there's a SA who sells to re-sellers. I've come across quite a few re-sellers and guess what they all dealt with this particular SA (funny that huh?). What is the official policy for this (if there is one) within Hermes as a company? Honestly, I'm quite surprised that corporate hasn't been involved yet as this SA has been in the boutique for the longest time and there's no subtlety at all (selling 5,6 of the same small leather goods all in one go, multiples of the same scarf, two of the very popular bags all in the same transaction). As there's a bag quota per year for one person, I know that the re-sellers are given multiple accounts. Is Hermes actively searching and taking action against this type of SAs? Have you seen such cases personally? I was just curious, seeing as I do see this type of thing happening very regularly.

I feel that SAs generally like to sell to resellers because they are going to earn more in commission from higher amount of sales. However, that does not mean the corporate office likes that but if it helps with the store sales, I don't think the store manager is going to complain as much.

As long as it doesn't cause other VVIP customers to complain to corporate office, I don't think Hermes is going to do anything about it. It sucks for customers like us who buy what we want and for our own use but that's how life is, sadly.

Maybe. Though IMHO: My perception is that many private people either sell directly themselves or - to remain anonymous - give their bag to the resellers for a considerable surcharge already. Hence perhaps the further (to me greedy) price increase on the reseller market in recent months.

That is infuriating but money is money I guess. However I think the super VIPs will have something to say about this and if numbers grow, there will have to be some kind of consequences I think (well I do hope so).

Hello everyone, I am new to Hermes. Was wondering how hard is a mini kelly picnic? Is it as rare as an exotic bag or is it less hard to get offered at some point? I am building my profile right now but I was just wondering if I hit an impressive number in spendings in store is it possible to be offered one if I share my interest to my SA?

all of the 'picnic' items are special
if a mini kelly picnic is your goal, you need to have a very frank and honest conversation with your SA sooner rather than later
My SA recently told me that a mini picnic kelly had come in after a client had ordered it.......... 8 years prior.

I was also told today about a few cases where VVIP clients were found to have different profiles at different stores. I understand that they were immediately blacklisted once this was realized, so I can't imagine it is super prevalent/Hermes looks the other way.

I'm a very low spend client but have been with the house for a very long time. I feel like I'm wasting my SA's time when I come in with an appointment. Sometimes I purchase nothing as nothing interests me or just something small. Do SAs get annoyed by that?

Just in general I'm interested in knowing if the pre-spend for quota bags are sky high now that all the influencers with their "how I scored this b/k" videos etc and everyone seems to have so much money saved during covid? Many of my friends who have never bought Hermes before have all just started buying in order to get a quota bag. This is why sometimes I feel bad because my SA could make much more commission with people who are trying to spend to get a bag but I only want what I want.

If you are a long time client your SA will understand your spending pattern and not think any the worse of you. Of course, at the moment when opportunities to go in-store are limited it will be frustrating when opportunities to purchase are not taken.
You should not be concerned with pre-spend limits and certainly whether your actions limit the commission of the SAs you deal with.
Your friends' intentions will be obvious to SAs and they can expect to be exploited for whatever they are worth.
If you want a quota bag just raise it with your SA and see what kind of response you get.
