Hi Mr Ex
I recently purchased a 30 year old Bolide 35 in Ardennes on the resale market. I'd like to take it to Hermes for a trip to the spa. Its in great shape, but the hardware is a bit tarnished and I'm sure the leather could be conditioned.
Should I mention I purchased this second hand? What should I expect to pay for the spa treatment?
Thanks!

It will be obvious that you did not buy it from Hermes last week.
Probably Hermes would expect that you were not the original purchaser, it could even be a hand me down from another member of your family.
So there is no need to mention how you came by the bag.
Hermes artisans appreciate vintage bags and treat them well.
All Hermes is interested in is that it is genuine and has not been worked on by a non-Hermes craftsman.
Hermes spa is around $300 and, without obbligation, you will be given an estimate for any work that might be undertaken. Basic spa seems to cover most external things, other than repairs, that you would hope for: cleaning, conditioning, glazing, touching up.
You can opt for all or some of the recommendations.

I am a relatively new H customer and have bought a few items over the last few months. I was able to make a wish list and at the time I thought I wanted a Kelly 25 but now I realise I’d be better off with a 28 and I’d like let my SA know. What’s the best way to go about this? I have two items that I’d like to buy anyway- should I do it then? Im just worried that I’ll come off as bag obsessed- when I genuinely like other H pieces. Just to add I don’t ever bring up my wish- except for when I initially made the list, but have asked about leathers etc out of curiosity.

I’m no expert, but I do have a nice relationship with my SA, and my belief is don’t hesitate to communicate honestly. So long as you are genuine, polite, and patient, you will get what you want eventually and within reason. JMO :D

Thank you, this is very helpful.

I just ask the SA’s opinion…
Anyway being 5’1 there’s really not much choice other than the 2 smallest standard sizes…
Not necessarily. I'm 5'0 (you have an inch on me) and I have a two B35's and have had a K35 in the past. My bolide is a 37 and my toolbox is a 26. I like big bags and I cannot lie :) (though I am trying to go a bit smaller)

Just because you're petite, doesn't mean your bag has to be :)

If you see something online and have your SA order it, do they get the same credit as a regular in store sale? My SA previously offered to order items for me if I saw a color I liked online, but when I mentioned some fine jewelry items I’d seen online, he didn’t offer. Not sure if he thought I wasn’t that interested, or if he just wasn’t keen on having it ordered.

Depending on when you ask about fine jewelry, it could be inventory issue and sourcing. Almost every piece of fine jewelry I have bought has either had to be worldwide source, or ordered from Paris -- in the case from my SA this week - no white gold fine jewelry ring at all in my size available and need to be ordered from Paris! I would imagine there is a good chance that the inventory is not there and he has to have it ordered from Paris. I do wear a slightly larger size, but not extremely abnormal for the USA market. I will say though, my SA will not hesitate to propose a Paris order for me but, I usually have to put down deposit and I am known and have a track record to always buy the item once its arrived.

Thank you! So even if it’s available online, this may still mean a Paris order?

Quite possibly, but I am not sure to be honest. Although I wonder if they are making pieces to order when most are "subject to a delivery delay" and are available in every size to order.
I’ve called customer service about this. The rep told me that for fine jewelry, when an order is placed online, they will first try to grab it from some boutique’s inventory if it exists anywhere in the country and if that’s not possible, they’ll make it fresh in Paris and ship from there. Thus we are likely to see items “available” on the web store yet when we ask our SA, their system of boutique inventories will show it is actually out of stock.

This makes sense! Thanks so much for the info.

@Mr. Ex say someone wanted to build a spending profile in pursuit of a bag but didn’t necessarily want to own lots of Hermes products, which products/categories are the easiest to resell while counting towards profile?

Resell as in buying through the store so that they can count towards your purchase history and then reselling the items so that you're not stuck with them?

Can other SAs modify the wishlist?

Only if the wish was created by them.

There's no need to explain yourself. Just take it in for a spa and they will determine whether it can be worked on or not. Unless you're all being friendly and having a conversation then by all means make that connection!
