Plenty of threads on quota bags, including in different country's variables.

Another noobish question: around how long/what level of spend/how many quota bags after were some of the ladies here offered a special order? I've been shopping at my home boutique for around 2 years on and off (I go to the store once every couple few months).
I've bought two B25s and a Constance from my SA, along with around $25K of other purchases (mostly RTW and jewelry) during this time. As my spend has increased, my SA has gotten better about getting me desired items and bags off my wishlist.
I'd absolutely love a mini kelly bag in a color that's only available via SO. I've read advice here that you can ask for SOs outright, but I wanted to get a sense of when others were first able to get an SO. I also know my profile is not as strong as many other people's here.
(If this helps, my boutique is in a major US city but it's not a flagship, and from what I've seen on social media, quota bag offers are somewhat easier to get there than the average store.) Thanks!
Why don`t you just tell your SA what colour/combo bag you are interested in as your next one and see what she/he says. If they don`t think it can be offered as a PO maybe they will offer you to do an SO.

If over the past two years you have worked well enough with your SA to buy what you have, there is something seriously wrong if you can't honestly ask your SA outright.
Regardless of comparison with any other customers you have got to be regarded a loyal and regular.
Someone to be retained - that's what is important.
Good point. Sometimes I have a hard time of asking for what I want in other areas of life too. I will be brave and next time I find myself in the store, I'll make a point of asking.

That's also a good idea. The last time I requested the color I wanted, my SA just said the color likely wouldn't be available, but I may need to make it more clear. (Just FYI I'm looking for gris mouette). It would be even dreamier to get it in chevre, though! And the SO process really just looks like so much fun, I would love to experience it.

I have, after all these expensive bag questions, a very plebeian question.

I don’t particularly have a relationship with an SA - most of my in-store purchases are scarves and SLGs and no SA has been interested in being MY SA. I have purchased a watch that needs a new battery and a silver pen that needs a refill through the resale market. Should I go to H for these things or will they scoff at me?

Gris mouette is not in production and not currently available. Perhaps as part of the request you could broaden your requirements to a mid tone grey or a cool tone grey. She can’t deliver what’s not available.

I’m no expert, but re the watch, DH just purchased an H08 watch that needed a link removed. At Tourneau, a popular watch seller, down the street, it would have taken less than 15 minutes. At H, it definitely took more than a day requiring delivery (or another trip to the store). There is also the chance that they will not have the battery or refill (this is H, so I think that is very likely) and you will have wasted your time for nothing. I have a quartz double strapped H watch, and I take it elsewhere for battery replacement bc I don’t want to make a special trip or wait. . . If you would like to go to Hermes for the battery and refill, I suggest calling ahead and asking the repair dept.

last year, during covid lock down, but when the boutique was first open, I remember waiting for the SA to bring some small item from the back (not a bag lol). A customer approached the repair department bc his bracelet had some issue. he said he purchased this in Spain. Some staff member suggested he take it back to the place of purchase, and he replied, you realize we are in the midst of a covid world wide shut down and you cannot fly anywhere. . . I’m not sure he was ever helped. It really drove home the point that customer service and aftercare as I knew it (from the days when claude worked at Madison Avenue) had dramatically changed, and any aftercare I would need, I had better course through my SA. During the time of claude and his successor (I forget the name) a stud or something fell off my CDC bracelet. Although I would have been happy to pay, H repaired it for free bc it should not have happened. But, I did buy it at the WS location and coursed the repair through my SA at the time.

@FizzyWater, I agree with @880, really may be easier to get your watch battery changed elsewhere. Most jewelers can do this, and some while you wait. My H watches are out of warranty, so no real need to take back to H. A local jeweler does this for me. Regarding the pen refill, I wouldn't have an issue asking for it at H, but I wouldn't be surprised it it had to be ordered. Instead, I imagine a local stationary store could supply if you bring original refill for them to match.

H should not scoff. I have good close relationships with my stores so my after sales experiences have been amazing and I would personally go back for these replacements. For your own convenience other options are fine as well, batteries are quite easy to replace as long as from a reputable source and my SA tells me apart from my Nautilus pen, the agenda pen refills I use are by ST Dupont.

Go in, they won’t scoff. It‘s also another opportunity to look around, be seen and talk to an SA. Who knows? He or she may be the ONE!

Also, you can just say I’d like to get a refill and a new battery please. Not necessary to go into where you got your watch and pen because it doesn’t matter.

Thank you, everyone, for your thoughtful replies. I think I’ll try my local jeweler and stationery shops first, as they’re literally a block away. If for some reason they can’t help, I’ll take the items along on my next H visit and ask with confidence (and patience!)

I am looking forward to being in the shop again - I think it’s been a full year since I was last there!

It will be way more expensive for H to replace the battery. My watch is out of warranty and I sent it to H for battery replacement. They told me it needed cleaning etc. Cost a small fortune. The SA said to just go to the local watch store.

What happens to the rest of your wish list once you receive a quota bag? I made a wish list in June that was pretty wide ranging - 3 sizes of B and a range of colours and hardwares. I was offered a B a month later and happily accepted. But I don’t know what happens to the rest of my selection. Does it get “erased” and if I want something in the future I make a new wish list? Or does my selection get saved?

I think you make a new wish. Your selection preferences might have changed by the time they ask you again?
