Just got a Gabrielle not too long ago from the resale market. This is in old medium size. I am 5’4” and this is a great casual day bag that holds a lot of items even an umbrella!
I am curently using a felt bag shaper to prevent it from sagging.
I have some question though, anybody here having some wear on the chain straps? Like peeling, scuffing leather? I noticed a bit of wear on the strap today and I am very concerned. I feel like the straps on this particular bag undergoes a lot of friction and leather used on strap may be too soft?

I'm 5'4 and I owned the small...but I sold it as it ultimately felt like I was constantly playing tetris with putting things into my bag, and would feel like I need to take out all the stuff on top if I was reaching for something on the bottom. I also felt like the chain was like just a "touch" short when I wore it as a V or a full crossbody double strapped.
My ideal size is the new medium gabrielle but I've recently purchased an old medium gabrielle (resale at a good price) since I could always use the extra space! If i find a new medium at a good price I may pull the trigger on that eventually too

Just an update for the lovely people who shared their opinions with me.
I did find a chevron in small but found it tad bit small, have been trying to get a gabrielle in new medium size from the stores but to no avail. Just gonna tell myself I might have missed the boat on this one and look forward to what’s next! still really appreciative of all who shared their expertise with me though

Hi guys.
I read some of you have peeling issues on the strap.
Checked on mine today and got the same issues too! Also saw some leather peeling at the corner of the bag beside the zipper.
For reference this bag was bought on Nov 2018 and is one of my most used bag.
Just called my SA and she said I can bring it down for repair but at my own cost (about SGD $400-$500 estimated)
So just a heads up for those buying preloved, pls check the leather on the straps carefully.
To be honest, really disappointed with the leather they used for this bag. Sigh.
Can anyone confirm the rumor that the Gabrielle is being discontinued? I just found one on the resale market at a good price and think it’s a really practical work/daily bag. However, I’m concerned that I’m buying something that will go out of style soon. It doesn’t show up on Chanel’s website when I search for it anymore which makes me sadd because it’s finally growing on me (didn’t like the style when it first came out). Am I super late to the game?
Hi guys I bought a Chanel gabrielle backpack pre loved from handbag clinic - wasn’t disclosed that the serial sticker “tab” came off so I found it in the pocket. Is this normal to come off is it something Chanel can fix and stick or sew back on?

I've found a great video for reference and infos about this peeling issue stuff on Sam and Victor's youtube channel, she has the same issue for the strap and she has shared her repair journey for her gabrielle backpack, so hopefully it could help all of you guys who also experience the same thing :')

I got the small Gabrielle ,and I live it but think it’s already out of style . So , I seldom use it .
arg... their quality is getting appalling. When you touch that raw/peeling part, does it feel like leather? It looks a bit like fabric?
yea the part that fell off is leather... but the white part that exposed the peeled leather does feels like fabric.
I always had this impression the leather used for the chains was leather glued together? But from this bag, it doesn't seem to be.
Oh dear. Now I fear that my gabrielle back pack might do the same. >.<

Since I'm based in Singapore, I sent mine yesterday to the boutique. My SA advised me that the repair might take 6 mths since they might be sending it to Paris for repair if our local shop can't do it.
