Tbh, I don’t use it enough as I have other bags in rotation. As mine is small, I can fit the same amount in the mini reissue, for example that is more compact/less bulky/less chains so I tend to grab that more. But the gabby has a different vibe and has a sweet spot in my collection.

Hi gabby lovers, can anyone with the ‘new’ medium share if the bag gets really heavy when full? And what/how much it can fit?
Side note: I’ve been looking on/off on resale sites and it’s annoying they just call it ‘medium‘ but when I look at the measurements, it’s the old medium / current large version. What makes it more confusing is the price of pre loved new mediums and large are similar.
I get condition, year, color etc makes a difference but it’s clear big bags are not as sought after since the large is sometimes even cheaper than the new medium.

I find the new medium size perfect. I don’t feel that it’s gets too heavy. I also find that if it does get heavy, wearing it on both shoulders V style, it’s helps distribute the weight well.

I just got a preloved Gabrielle in large. However when I received it in real life, looked more like a medium to me. Was there a change in the large size dimensions? I saw some videos mention old medium/new large but don’t get details .Mine is a 2019 seasonal bag with the Chanel top handle

Hi everyone. I'm super late to the Gabrielle hobo... I actually did not like it at first but now am realizing how functional it is. I am dying for a preloved Gabrielle with the CHANEL top handle. Can anyone give me more information as to what year this model was from? I also heard the top handle was an "add on"? If true, if anyone is selling their strap or their bag, I would be interested in purchasing.
I am also looking for one with additional CHANEL strap. unfortunately, it is an old style so you will have to find one pre-loved...
Hi I got mine from Tokyo early January 2020. Strongly recommended by the Chanel SA to get new medium instead of small. I was carrying cf medium that time and gabby small size is almost the same capacity compare with cf medium hence I brought the new medium size. Homeland - Malaysia launched on 16 January and stock available early February 2020.
I saw a youtube video where someone had this problem on their new medium gabby and got it replaced by Chanel for a fee... not sure how old her bag was but I was surprised she had to pay for it! Chanel probably said it was due to normal wear and tear but it seems strange that that many pieces of leather flaked off - unless the bag owner kept rubbing the strap against a rough surface, which doesn't seem like something someone would do against their own clothes?!
My thoughts exactly, all my older Chanel bags even lambskin *that was drenched with beer, had mold* did not flake off like this, sure colours fade and the leather was dry but from my experience only faux leather or bonded leather will flake off and leave a white fabric backing… now I’m scared for the straps of my vanity case..
Does anyone have any tips on how to prevent the sagging of the Gabrielle? Am considering to add one to my collection but am not sure if i like the way it seasons.
Store it on its side when you’re not using it (and flip it to the other side every once in a while). The weight of the hardware is what pulls down on the leather and contributes to the sagging; if you lay it down, there’s minimal downward pull from the chains. I’ve done that with mine over the past year and it’s helped tremendously with any sagging.
