To clarify, I’m interested in the “new medium” size without the additional strap, just the classic design
How old is too old for Gabrielle Hobo? I love the style and its functionality but I'm wondering if I'm too old to be carrying this bag. I'm in my mid 40s and my wardrobe cannot be anymore basic, Jeans and T-shirt during summer and jeans and coats or sweats during cold season. I don't want my bag looking misplaced or odd when I carry it. The size I'm thinking of is small since I carry bare minimum and I'm only 5'3. I would love to hear your thoughts. TIA

I’m in my mid 30s, 5’5” and wear my medium Gabrielle A LOT/it’s one of my most used bags in my collection. I wear mine casually as well (jeans and a T-shirt is my go-to for that bag). Personally, I think you can dress her up or down, especially with the small vs the medium, which is way more casual.
Don’t overthink it…if you love it, that’s all that matters

Thank you for your input. I really shouldn't care but sometimes it's hard not to. But I have made up my mind that I want to add this to my collection and looking highs and lows for this. Now that I want it, no stores seem to have it.

I’d check the stock threads…not necessarily for a picture featuring a Gabrielle, but look in the background. I’ve seen a bunch of different colors and sizes here and there, but they’re always on shelves behind a Chanel 19 or something else being featured (I’m pretty sure I saw a small black recently). That's exactly what I've been doing recently. Every time I see a post, instead of looking at the featured bag, I'm scanning the background for a Gabby. LOL One of my lovely SAs did send me a photo this morning. Hopefully, I'll be able to complete the transaction by end of the day. It'll be a perfect V-day present to myself~

I bought mind preloved 3 years ago but it's from 2017. I haven't had that issue so I can't really say. Do you live close to a boutique? Maybe you could take it in for a repair. I know they can replace the leather on the chain.
If leather is dry it can start to crack/peel + if you live in a humid place I know that can also be harder on leather. If you store your bags in their boxes that can damage the bag longterm. Boxes are nice but it's best to store them just in their dust bags so the leather can breathe. I also use cadillac leather lotion every now and then on all my bags (chanel, celine, loewe) just to keep the leather conditioned and clean.

I will bring it down to chanel but I am already disappointed in the quality.
My other older and cheaper leather bags are fine and never pealed. I had much higher expectations of chanel for the price I paid for it. =(
