I will leave this reminder as a sticky because tthis is often a thread that new members (or new Hermès lovers) post on - hopefully temporarily.

It comes to the fact that 70% of the people hunting for bags are resellers in FSH, but it's yet to be a proper reason for them to judge someone before acquainted.
And even not to mention that 70% of the sales comes from resellers.
I support the idea to avoid resellers, but I feel they go too far, such as judge by appearance, check passport, judge by countries.

As I was told by a SA in FSH, that following kinds of customers are more difficult to obtain a bag, 1.Shopping alone 2. Asian 3.Male. It doesn't mean that these kind of customers could never obtain a bag, just relatively more chicky.
They do have a blacklist, but I think they don't easily put you on just because you ask for a bag.
Your case is due to you have purchased a bag in Avril, and now they would like to keep you waiting until the end of the year to balance. Nothing personal to you.

I don't know if 70% is the correct number but in reality, who is there to statistically proof it ? Even if an SA tells you, it would be their wild guess about the %. Let's just say that a large percentage of buyers are resellers because their bags proof to be profitable to flip and could pay for part of the trip. No one can ever say who the reseller is. They could be dressed up or down and also own some Bs & Ks already. Anytime someone can make money flipping bags by standing in line for an hour is an incentive. What H needs to really do to stop it is mass production of these bags like LV or Chanel. But do they want to do this ? because it will take away all the fun and cache of owning a Hermes.

They created their own problem and they shouldn't use resellers as a scapegoats for mistreating other legitimate customers.

Some of my family members are visiting Paris, and they offered to stop by the Hermes store for me. But I would not want them to go through the trouble if the chances of the store having my bag is slim to none! I'm not interested in getting a K or B! Just looking for an Evelyne GM in gold. Does anyone know if that will be difficult as well?
Don't stand in the queue for an Evelyne at FSH. If there's one in display just grab an SA and ask either if you can try it or if they have the same bag in gold. If there's not, go look at bracelets (where the SAs seem eager) and while trying something on casually mention that you are planning to buy an Evelyne in Paris. Don't say hoping, say planning. Then they will wonder if they may lose sales to one of the other boutiques.
You can also wander upstairs and if you get on with a homewares SA, say the same thing :)

If this sounds like game-playing, well...turn about is fair play!

Reporting back for my friend. She went 2 more times to FSH and was turned down again. She's leaving tomorrow morning and she's D.O.N.E with the whole Hermes/FSH standing in line for hours to play a game experience. She's really bummed of course and it has left a bad taste in her mouth about the brand in general. I am sad for her...

I hope everyone has better luck in September! So far I am still not seeing any reports on this thread of people getting bags in August and we are in the middle of the month already.

Who knows what these SAs are thinking ? Many people have returned to FSH repeated and got bags. It is not that a customer can be on a black list.

I'm curious on the one being shown the B25. I heard that this size is extremely rare at FSH as most successful stores here are only bigger sizes like the 35. Once in a while, there may be a K28 but still rare. I wonder if they save the special sizes to their so called 'Non resellers VVIP'. Those always turn out to be the biggest resellers. From several resellers that I track on Instagram, they have the most desired smaller sizes and colors. You would wonder how they got these bags, from the same people that FSH trusts.
I share your sentiments. It seems that H keeps selling to resellers whom they trusts. Sigh.

please tell your family members to go to the sevres location. No line there, especially if you go early. My friend bought an Evelyne there when we were there 3 weeks ago. She was able to choose from many colors.

That's too bad for your friend. Was hoping that she got lucky.
I tried twice when I was in Paris 3 weeks ago and was also turned down.

I'm so sorry to hear of some of the bad experiences. I decided to just enjoy Paris my last day. My friend actually refused to go into another hermes store with me. She doesn't get my love of the brand. She finds the attitude of the sales assistants degrading and demoralizing. I had a wonderful sa I worked with for years but the hermes location is a plane ride away and with hermes new policy of having to physically be in the store to purchase a bag it has been difficult to find that kind of relationship again since I do not have an H store in my state. It's ironic that by trying to stop resellers they are making it difficult for clients like me who may have no other choice but to purchase a bag from a reseller. Hope everyone has a better experience in Paris! It is a wonderful place!

I so agree you need to set a limit on your quest for a bag and enjoy the city. It's easy to get caught up in the frenzy of wanting a bag and obsessing about the perfect time and why some are offered Bs/Ks and others are told there is no stock.
When I went in mid July I planned to stop into FSH a few times in between family activities and meeting friends. I also planned sort of a consolation purchase from VCA in case H did not have what I was after.
Hope you enjoyed your trip.

I'm so sorry to hear about all the bad experience of TPF'ers. I'm going to Paris in 3 weeks and initially planned to visit FSH in hopes of adding a kelly 25 to my collection. After reading all the experiences, I think I won't bother going at all as I do not have 2 hours to wait in line, to get played. I'd rather enjoy Paris, museums and good restaurants. Might visit the other 2 stores though for bracelets and bags other than b or k. Has anyone seen a roulis, bolide or toolbox in the other 2 stores or at the airport?
I can't understand why they treat customers like that. At the end of the day they're SAs, in retail. Working in Hermes doesn't make them above all of us. I'd rather spend my money at Chanel if I want to get something in Paris given the cheap Euros.
To those who are on their hunt of a b or k- good luck! Hope to hear some good news here soon!

I felt the same when I was at FSH. Anyone ever wonders if the dominant reseller market is indirectly operated by people with direct interest from Hermes? It seems like that approach yields a much higher return than selling at a brick and mortar store, given staffed and lit. Imagine warehouses of bags sold through websites and how much overhead cost that saves them. That makes me wonder why Hermès won't just raise their bag price of coveted bags to match the resellers' price. But they can't do that, really? Hermès can't produce more bags neither even if there are skilled artisans to do so. That is simply a supply and demand formula to set the bags' desirability. So I guess directly owning the reseller market makes perfect sense. Of course, there must be some smaller scale resellers without known connections that they try to squeeze out because everyone is trying to get a share of the reselling profit, and there are only so much volume Hermes can crank out before impacting the bag's unattainability. Just a thought...

Have you ever tried doing this? Because I wanted the evelyne on display as well as b/k last time and I could not get an SA anywhere as they were all busy so I had to go to the queue

I actually find the attitude of the SAs the same way your friend does. It's almost like you are begging for a bag when you are willing to drop some major money (probably more than what they earn in a month or even two times or more)
I love H but although I've been to Paris over 15 times I have only gone to fsh twice and that was this past April.
I end up buying at the airport. So much easier, vat is discounted and service is so much better

But then I don't own multiple B/K so I am probably not the norm here.

Sorry to hear about the bad experience. I hope she got to enjoy Paris.
I sometimes think it's better to just enjoy the city rather than stand for hours to save some money on a bag.

I am going to Paris again in a few weeks. I'm going for work though. It's a tight schedule and won't be able to go to fsh to stand in line but maybe I will give it one try.

I don't recommend trying to cut the line to ask for any bags. I have seen people do it and the hostesses and SAs clearly get annoyed. I think it pretty much assures that you won't get your dream bag. Go to one of the other stores that doesn't have a line if you don't want a birkin or Kelly.

I fear this has gotten off topic with ranting about Hermes, racism and conspiracy theories. We should get back to topic. Tpf members have had both good or bad experiences at FSH and at least we have a balanced view of what to expect if we decide to try our luck.
