Paris trip for Hermes

Day 2 in Paris. I tried 2 times for walk ins in FSH. Nothing. They don’t even check my profile. Just repeat to come later or tomorrow to check again.

At Serves though I was told in the morning to come back after 3pm after I said that I’m interested in Kelly Elan. So I returned around 4pm, I was granted a walk in. Waited for a while. I noticed many people were returning and granted walk in but all were staying at same area and shown either Geta or Evelyne bags. When I was seen and asked my wish list I listed mostly Kelly and Kelly Elan. SA returned a few minutes later with Geta bag in Chèvre Mysore in navy blue color. Stunning leather but I don’t like strap. If it would be leather strap or replaceable by zig zag strap I’d consider. I was told also black and green colors are available. I politely refused and I was told by SA since I shop RTW at FSH I should be considered a good client there and if she would work there she probably could offer me something from wish list. So she advised to try FSH again tomorrow. But honestly I don’t believe I have chances considering that they don’t even check my profile. And when I was shopping RTW first day, the SA said she can help other departments but can’t help with leather or appointment.

I even consider to buy vintage. I found a store with vintage Kelly Retourne 32 in beautiful box leather and good condition. But it’s Kelly 1 so it doesn’t have shoulder strap or double ring. I went to Hermes spa and they told me they can make a strap but will need to replace a handle and the ring. But they warned me of bag was repainted or altered not by Hermes spa they will refuse to make a strap or handle replacement. So their advice is not to risk.View attachment 6027017

Golly the price is quite incredible. I wouldn't advise it either.
I found my
K28 Marine Box Sellier GHW 1981 for USD 2.5k. It's been reconditioned at FSH and the SAV department love receiving and reviving old bags, but at a reasonable cost.
Perhaps your third day will be lucky for you.

But there was other older lady who spoke very rudely and pushy and almost screamed at me when I said that H spa recommended replace handle ring to double ring so it won’t run agains the handle. At that time owner came and when she heard same thing they both just started to scream at me that it’s non sense everyone just order strap from some guy who they know who used to work at Hermes and nothing rubs against handle. At this point I felt like I’m at some street market and tried to be pushed to make a purchased. Also after they mentioned that some guy used to work at H who can make a strap, I’m sure same guy probably does some “spa” to make bags more presentable. So I didn’t risk it and left. Yesterday there was a guy who showed the bag and he was very polite and understanding and he listened and answered to our concerns not just argued like the ladies today.

Anyway I attempted to request walk ins because yesterday I was told by leather SA that they have a delivery with box leather today. FSH works until 4pm today though. So it was crazy busy and leather desk lady was very rude today to everyone. It makes such a difference how stuff talk to customers. I was turned off to do any shopping after leather desk lady made a face when I asked about walk in and by her tone and how she phrased refusal. My husband and I are going to rent a car and to drive to Deauville for 2 days to escape Paris craziness. So this year I will return empty handed. But anyway it was really nice to talk to Hermes spa, we gained some new knowledge and I definitely want a Box leather even more now

Sorry to hear how rude they were. There is a store in Deauville, maybe you’ll have better luck there.

OMG what a day!
I would stay away from that kelly even if it was a good deal, you won’t know for sure if the spa will take as some work may have been already been done by someone not from hermes.
If going to deauville bear in mind that Sunday is Election Day and if returning to Paris after 8pm on Sunday you may face some disturbance if the RN wins the elections (like burnt cars or fights)

Has anybody ever scored a QB in the time after Christmas but before New Years? I’ll be in Paris 12/26-1/2 so wondering what the chances are since stock is low post-Christmas. Like do they wait to offer QB after New Years at that point, etc..

Agreed- just try to enjoy the moment and ask for what you are hoping for….its kind of the SA to make time for you- so I think you are already in a better position than most. Just remember, the reason the magic happens is because you have absolutely no power in the process- your only power is your positive attitude! Good luck- and I think you have already “won”- how nice to be remembered after many years!!!
