If you get to buy a non qb bag as a walk in then win a lottery leather appt on the following days, will H still offer you a BK?
I have had an interesting experience in the past. I got a walk-in appointment at FSH and they offered me a constance & mini-lindy. I'm not a huge fan of constance, so I picked-up the mini-lindy in a very coveted colour for my sister. The next day, I happened to be near the Sevres store so I decided to drop by and a very dashing SA gave me a walk-in appointment again! I told him I'm looking for a kelly 28 to take to work and I wasn't too bothered about colours except I wanted it to be sellier and in GHW. He then looked up my profile and noticed my sister's bag on my profile (amongst other things) and flat out refused to show me ANY bags. I was definitely quite upset and felt like the lindy was a trap haha! Of course I'm now very calm and happy with my choice of gifting my sister her dream bag but ALAS; did I possibly miss out on getting my work-horse Kelly; perhaps I did ;) If I knew the lindy was a trap, I would have absolutely avoided it because my priority was getting a QB in Paris with no pre-spend. Also, I literally did not even ask the SA for a card for future shopping needs, I just walked-out thanking him and somehow feeling like I had been caught out? I did not enjoy that feeling but I'm fine now. It's a bag! :)

The allure about Paris for me is the legacy and legend of the fauborg store. Any score is special but I simply do not enjoy the environment anymore. As a customer, I hope I would not have to feel BAD for wanting to buy a bag or two! The SA who sold me the lindy did not know about the history of the bag or the new II version (with increased height). I find the service quite superficial and frankly felt like the SA was collecting data points about me before offering me a bag they thought would match my profile. BUT; there are still some FABULOUS SAs who really go the extra mile and make it a magical luxurious experience; but I feel it's certainly becoming more transactional nowadays.

I think it’s rare to get a BK with a walk in spot. I have been told for walk in spots especially, they try to be fair (in other words, if you have gotten any bag as a walk in, they would rather save a second bag for someone who didn’t get anything.

If it helps, I think this seems to be general walk in policy. In keeping with fairness, those who have lottery or prescheduled appts seem to have priority (there are not unlimited bags after all, and an SA on the desk may have other restrictions to whom he can offer his allotment). Those members who report otherwise (get multiple offers via walk in, and also get a prearranged spot, the latest being 706 madison ) seem to be the exception.

My FSH SA says that demand is unprecedented, and the hope is people who have access to home stores will focus on those. At any rate, I’m sorry the experience at Sevres tainted your memory of FSH. Some SAs do not know as much as the clients. I hope your sister enjoys your very generous gift.

The policy on walk-in you mention makes complete sense! It’s just something about Paris (and the VAT refund 😝) that makes H shopping such a little adventure sport, especially because my closest “home store” is a 2 hour flight away!

And thank you for your lovely comment, my sister is ELATED! And frankly, I can’t wait to borrow it one day too 🥰

Hi everyone my husband just got me the #1 bag on my wishlist.
Had prearranged appointment with our SA at FSH and the store was very busy. He was not on a private room like we used to be.
K25 rose Sakura Phw Swift
we initially had the appointment scheduled next Friday but my SA texted she feared that they’ll have less stock next week.
I feel very fortunate to have this SA and she always tries her best to find me the bag I ask for (although I’ve been asking for this exact bag for a few years)

Amazing! Can you share how you were able to secure an appt in advance?

I didn’t know this was possible especially because of customs. Is it shipping safely? I will definitely ask my SA at FSH. It’s a big plus when only going a few times a year. Thank you!
Yes I’ve been sent some ready to wear, sushi tray, belts, shoes (even bags at the time of covid)… they use DHL.
But you definitely have to pay customs, you’ll have 10% off for the VAT

Yes and customs duty can be a whopper depending on the item! 100% silk is only 3% but anything composite, for example for some RTW, is like 16%. Also depending on the total value of the items in the shipment, the shipping fee can vary from 65 € to 250 €, which is what I paid for my most recent purchase! So there is probably still a small savings, since the cost is less in euros, but not as much as one would think. I find that I pay less for duty (usually flat 3%) when I bring stuff home with me. But it always feels extra special to get a package from Paris, and sometimes they have stuff that is not available in the US.
