I will leave this reminder as a sticky because tthis is often a thread that new members (or new Hermès lovers) post on - hopefully temporarily.

Each of us is unique and, consequently, the story of how we end up being offered a bag in Paris will be unique.

Someone else's story or recommendations or admonitions will not help because we are not them. I read through all the suggestions about how we should dress a certain way (or not) or go to a specific store (FSH no Sevres no George V no FSH) or 'act' a certain way or...in the end we should all just be ourselves and maybe we'll get lucky...or not.
Yes,I believe so. Let’s try not to take Paris too seriously. :)

I have a French profile since 2021. But my sevres SA did not manage to get me any bag offer for 2 years with close to Eur 20k spend.

I walked in to FSH this year and was successful.
My experience has been like this as well. Sevres is my home store and I tried to build an SA relationship there but I was the closest I was able to come to a bag was just to try some on for size reference.

Meanwhile I have gotten multiple walk-in appointments at FSH and was offered QBs. I still don't have a specific SA there and was told they can't help clients get appointments or inform them of stock anyways, but I won't waste my time trying to get an appointment at Sevres anymore, that's for sure.

As anyone (non VIP) received any good push offers (ie. Kelly picnic, bolide on wheels, Himalayas) in Paris? Assuming you have some spend and get a leather appointment.

If so, how would you say your spend for that offer compares to non-a
Paris boutiques? For example those scoring leather appts for regular QBs in Paris (very, very broadly speaking) seem to be able to be offered bags with little spend compared to other countries with regular boutique spend history and relationship.

Wonder if the same applies for “special/push” bags? Easier to get in Paris?

For Blue Box bags and push offers, I think they tend not to offer them to clients with newer histories/ lottery appointments/ walk in appointments. I would say the Paris stores would reserve this group of bags. It seems from the post history going back a long while, the bags offered are mostly regular leather "QBs". I am sure with an amazing one time spend, perhaps or two might appear, (I don't think a Himalaya would) but I dare say not with zero or relatively low prior purchase history.

That’s a good thing. I think there’s something there’s something be said about staying loyal to local boutique (unless said boutique never receives those!).

Would you consider full exotics (croc/lizard/alligator) fall into this “special” category that is unlikely offered to new clients/walkins? Or do they play in the same field as regular learners?

I think in this respect FSH and the 2 other Paris stores operate the same as worldwide; loyal customers have priority.
FSH I know for a fact has a very small number of regular quota bags set aside, probably daily, for the lucky few who get a lottery appointment. These are offered, many times with zero purchase history. It's probably the only store in the world which does this daily. On one hand it create dreams, as we read here, and on the other hand also a lot of drama.
Regarding full exotic bags, I would say it is perhaps possible to be offered those in others styles, absolutely. Likely with a huge spend one could perhaps be shown a Croc Constance for example as Cs are not considered quota in Paris. Again when it comes to Birkins (B20) and Kellys, KP, MK in full exotics, same as exotic Blue Box limited editions (Faubourg), FSH would mostly keep them for their customers with a long and significant purchase history and I think that's reasonable.

Thanks for the insight and agree with all of the above!

Just want to give some update regarding FSH today. I passed by the store around 1 pm. It's not as crowded as expected. Many SAs were standing around. The busiest areas were shoes, scarves, belts, and fashion jewelries; the typical items you'd buy as Xmas presents I guess. Leather desk had few clients standing around but nowhere near 'packed'. I've been in Paris for 10 days, applied for appointment for 10 days but did not get one. Bag is not my focus for this trip so I did not bother to ask for cancellation. I wanted to check out the Spring 2024 RTW collections but most pieces on display are for the current season.
According to an SA, the store will be close on Sunday and Monday in observation of Xmas. All the employees seem relaxed today. Maybe they're counting down to the close time :).

So it has been quiet for a few days straight in this thread. No complains, success or fail stories? 😅
Went to FSH and George V today, no luck for appointments. Some people are very mean to the staff and it was just such a turn off for myself as a customer let alone the employees working there. Sucks to see that! Hoping my luck will change but won’t hold my breath haha.

Was at FSH today as well, and like @pippa_nyc, no luck for appointments. Was told by the leather desk SA that there were no cancellations. Customers who were asking for just a Picotin 22/ Bolide were also turned away.

Went to the SLG section and enquired about a CTG. Was shown a Black with GHW CTG in Matte Alligator. No regular leather CTG available as well.

I guess it cancels out at the end of the day. I was in Paris and received a very rude service at FSH and Sevres even though I asked politely. And no, I wasn’t asking about B or K or C and both SAs were very snobbish

Oh absolutely!! I got other items like shoes and accessories at FSH and I was assigned a horrific SA. Didn’t bother to ask her anything about bags, honestly didn’t even want to buy my things with her but it is what it is…just bought it and left. My DFH went to talk to the leather desk himself and the man there was very kind of him though!

Hello, everyone! It’s been a while since I last shared my journey here. Despite limited success with the lottery system, I’ve been fortunate as a walk-in three times—Oct 2019, Aug 2021, and Mar 2022. However, my recent visits in Dec 2022 and Mar 2023 were less fruitful.

I arrived in Paris on Christmas Day and had informed my SA, who has helped me before, about my visit. We scheduled to meet on the 27th at 2 pm. Upon reaching the FSH store, I discovered she was off. Another helpful associate assisted us with purchases. Accompanied by my mom and sister (their first time in Europe), we bought a clic clac bracelet, perfume, and a knit top.

After paying, I decided to check for any appointment cancellations. Two people were at the check-in desk, and a lady was already inquiring about appointments. The man politely declined, suggesting she try online. Hesitant to ask, the lady approached me and offered assistance. I explained my unsuccessful online attempts, and she checked using my passport. I can see her looking at my profile and then she asked me what bags I was looking for, I had told her that I was looking for a Constance in doblis. She lit up and expressed how much she likes that doblis is coming back after they had stopped making it for a long time. She asked about other bags, and I mentioned Birkin or Kelly in exotics if available.

She assured me she’d find an SA to help, though it might take time. She guided me to the second floor, where I waited 10-15 minutes. An SA arrived, and I detailed my preferences and existing collection. She left and returned 15 minutes later asking me to follow her upstairs. Lo and behold, a Birkin 25 in mushroom swift leather—a belated Christmas present to myself!

Don’t be discouraged about asking for a leather appointment—sometimes, it leads to delightful surprises!IMG_4617.jpeg
