I will leave this reminder as a sticky because tthis is often a thread that new members (or new Hermès lovers) post on - hopefully temporarily.

When I was previously at FSH I was offered a new bag style in etoupe, but turned it down. I decided to take another look at it because I feel I rejected too quickly but I couldn't remember the name of it. So, I went back to FSH on Friday. I waited in line at the Leather Desk and witnessed the appointment folks tell everyone there were no cancellations or appointments available.

When it was my turn, I told the young lady, don't worry I'm not looking for a cancellation. She laughed and thanked me. I explained to her that I was there a few days before and was offered a bag but I wanted to confirm the name and spelling of it. I told her what I thought it was called and she was very surprised. She told me the correct name and said she wasn't aware it was already in stock and being sold. I explained that it was beautiful but I wasn't sure it suits me because it's a shoulder bag.

She then offered me a leather appointment on the spot. Needless to say I was beyond shocked. Within five minutes, I had an SA escort me upstairs to a quiet area. I told him the bag I wanted to see. He reconfirmed the spelling and pronounciation then went off to check stock.

He came back with the bag in black and blue de prusse. I asked him if I was still eligible to purchase it since I just bought the Evelyne and B30. He told me this bag isn't limited and that I could buy it. I thought about it but decided my first impression was correct. After I turned it down, he then asked if I was interested in anything else. I said I just got two bags and I understand I'm only allowed 1 QB per 6 months. He told me exceptions can be made and I was thissssss close to asking for another B but decided against it.

This was a wild trip as everyone seemed super accommodating even at George V where I almost scored another appointment on my birthday, but had another engagement so I passed.
Amazing story! Would love to know the name of the bag, and congrats on your B30! which color and do you have pics?

You've had a wonderful experience with Hermes Paris. Can you tell what the new style is?

For everyone still wondering, I think it’s the new Arcon shoulder bag. :amuse:

I am looking to buy rtw, jewelry and shoes during my upcoming trip. If I am also hoping to also score a walk-in appt (if lottery is not fruitful), is it better to spread my purchases out at FSH and Rue Sevres or just focus on one location (assuming I can find what I want in one store)?

$10k in one store gives you a decent chance. $5k in two stores gives you two mediocre chances. Pick your poison.

Thank you! If you had to spend $10k in one store, would it be FSH or Sevres (for your handbag chances)? And does it have to be with one SA (since FSH SAs do not work across depts)?
Always FSH. The SA is the one who has to go to bat for you at the leather department so the better the impression with them, the more likely they are to fight for you.

ETA - I'd do $9500 at FSH and if that didn't work out, go to Sevres and spend the remaining $500 and try again.

I would spend more in Sevres.

The reason being even if there is no successful SA help to get a leather appointment at Sevres, when I approached leather desk at FSH, they asked for my profile before they gave me an appointment. To me it means, leather desk at FSH might/could have considered my spend history at Serves before they offered me my leather appointment (where I was offered a c18 and mini Evelyn).

I was told the store just wants you to have a French profile. I was asked if I had one when the SA told me she wanted to offer me a bag as a walk in but needed to check with her manager. She found the profile which only had a small item on it and that was enough for the manager. I think it was more about having a profile at that point.

I have a French profile since 2021. But my sevres SA did not manage to get me any bag offer for 2 years with close to Eur 20k spend.

I walked in to FSH this year and was successful.

Each of us is unique and, consequently, the story of how we end up being offered a bag in Paris will be unique.

Someone else's story or recommendations or admonitions will not help because we are not them. I read through all the suggestions about how we should dress a certain way (or not) or go to a specific store (FSH no Sevres no George V no FSH) or 'act' a certain way or...in the end we should all just be ourselves and maybe we'll get lucky...or not.
