Hello lovelies, did any of you have an issue with Global Blue’s tax refund. I made a few purchases at the Paris stores last week. The tax refund forms had amounts to be refunded in euros say €800. When I received the funds it was in my home currency which was £… and a lot less than what it was supposed to be in €!! They took at least another 10% I never asked or been asked to specify which currency to receive the refund. I even paid for my purchases in €. Did any of you experience this issue also?
I’ve had the same issue for all my H shopping in Paris for the past few years as H uses Global Blue. Global Blue takes the liberty to convert the refund back to the home currency as per the address on the tax invoice. I paid in EUR via my EUR account but due to Global Blue’s conversion to the address on my invoice, I lost ~€EUR370 i.e. approx 8-9% off the amount that was due to me for my Nov 2023 trip. Really frustrating.

On the other hand. Planet which is used by Le Bon Marche (where I get my C, D & L), refunds back in EUR.

Hello! :flowers: I am a long time lurker on this thread and now a first time contributor (and tourist to Paris)! Before I share my story, I just want to give a heartfelt thanks to everyone who has contributed to this forum as it really helped me navigate the Paris H stores! I’m super grateful!

My fiancé surprised me with a ten day trip to Paris and we were there last week. I originally wanted to go for our honeymoon next year, but with the Olympics happening, we had to change plans. Therefore I was super excited to go this year at holiday time instead! Yay for mulled wine and Christmas lights!

We applied every day with both our passports but neither of us ever got a lottery appointment. I went to all three stores and asked for walk in appointments but no luck. I dressed up and brought my B25, dressed down with an Evelyne, was always super nice, spoke a little French, went when it rained, went when it was sunny, no luck. We saw people getting turned down left and right. I also made sure to only approach when no one was at the leather desk. I then tried to make purchases to see if that helped. I bought cashmere scarves, silks, purse charms, still no luck.

However, when DFH (dear future husband lol) went up to the leather desk, ignoring all the tips I gave him by asking with tons of people around, he scored me a walk in appointment!! I have no idea how he did it. It was so effortless. I remember someone saying that H favors men so maybe that was it? I didn’t ask for a quota bag since I just got my B25 in October and it was out of budget for this surprise trip, but happily walked away with a mini Halzan in Rose Jaipur!

On the last day of our trip DFH took me to Sèvres because I love Petit H and wanted to buy some gifts for my mom. Well, he did it again, got me another walk in appointment! I picked up a mini Evelyne in Barenia F to give my mom for Christmas! It doesn’t count as over budget if it’s not for me, right? :graucho:

Although I didn’t win the lottery, I definitely hit the jackpot with DFH scoring me two appointments! It was so much fun and I feel double blessed to have experienced H in Paris! Here is my H haul (definitely over budget ):

(1) Mini Halzan (Rose Jaipur)
(1) Mini Evelyne (Barenia Faubourg)
(1) Pegasus (Sesame)
(1) Rodeo (Menthe/Vert Fizz/Etoupe)
(1) Hippo (Gold)
(2) Petit H Butterfly
(2) Petit H Owl
(1) Petit H Origami Horse
(1) Cashmere Clic Clac Scarf (Camel)
(1) Cashmere H Scarf (Marine/Bleu)
(1) Mille Et Un Lapins Twilly
(1) La Patisserie Francaise Charm Twilly

Hermes handles their own refunds (from what I heard) through Global Blue and yes, they take a commission on the currency refund to the credit card. There is nothing we can do about it…

I got La - I sensed quite quickly that he was pretty high up. My husband actually old me for the first time last night that he was getting knowing looks from him as we went upstairs like he was going to make sure I left happy. He offered me a Birking Touch first, but I couldn't afford it . I left with a gold B30
He has only been there of a year, he is an SA for leather. But the way he carries himself gives him a certain presence there. I’ve heard they like him there, I believe he will be there for a while, hope he gave you his contact info.

Hey All, I was in Paris last weekend. Tried for appointments and wasnt even getting emails where the link would be sent. Went in to talk to someone at leather desk, they took my email, sent it over WhatsApp and I got the link an hour later. No rejection email that night. next morning, same story, no email link to confirm appointment, went in to Hermes again and approached leather desk. They gave me walk in appointment.

I asked for Mini Kelly, the SA asked if I was open to K25. I said yes and mentioned I have etoupe, etain and black (birkin and Kelly). asked for a pop of color in the mini Kelly. She came back and asked me to follow her.

I was offered a K25 Swift in Lime, I hesitated for a minute because of the swift leather but, accepted the bag. My SA then asked me if I wanted anything else and I asked for a on-the-go bag, she offered it in Gold and Chai. I took Gold. Then got shearling Cyphre sandals and headed to pay. I had almost resigned on getting an appointment and still cannot believe I got an appt and a Kelly!

Hello everyone! I am based in Los Angeles, and am about to board a plane to Paris soon so I was trying to apply for a leather appointment and I was blocked from accessing the website. It says “Make sure you’re connected to a local WIFI network”. Does this mean now we have to be in Paris to secure an appointment? I was in Paris back in October, but didn’t apply for an appointment until I arrived in EU since I landed in Germany first. Not sure if this is a new thing?IMG_5129.png
